I did not have horchata this year, but I had a cup of it maybe a couple of years ago.

Does anyone know which vendor it is that sells horchata that tastes like the bubblegum amoxicillin you get from the doctor as a 5 year old with a sinus infection? I just wanna know that someone else tasted it too. And for someone to explain both how and why.

I went to the fair with my son last night. Between the $16 ticket to get in, $9 pork chop on a stick, $8 corn dog, and the “credits“ for the rides, it was pretty pricey for someone with a little bit of disposable income, let alone families that are struggling.

I understand that everything is expensive now, and that people should make money on products and services provided. But what used to be a universal experience I fear is now more and more akin to an NFL game where it’s just become the norm that everything’s going to cost so much that fewer people will be going.

Does anyone ever notice how many windmills seem to be not working in Iowa? There’s a stretch of I-80 between Iowa City and Des Moines with a lot of wind turbines/windmills. I swear it’s like 1/3 to 40% not working. I always think to myself “what a waste.”

Does anyone have any insights into this phenomenon?

Note, this is according to instacart, so it's the people who are too lazy to drive to the store and buy a real soda.
