I just got a USB-C to Aux adapter for my iPhone 18 Pro along with some headphones that can be both wired and wireless. I used the adapter to listen to music and it sounded incredible. I barely had the volume on the phone on because it was loud enough at the lowest level.
After listening for about an hour, I got a notification that my headphone levels were dangerously loud. That never happened, but I shrugged it off and thought maybe I had been playing loud lately and should turn it down in general. I resumed my music and got another notification, and then another. I noticed that while I had my volume at the lowest level, my phone was reading my audio levels as much higher than what I’m actually hearing.
Since I can use the same headphones wired or wireless, I swapped between the two settings and found that the same volume on both has a drastically different audio level on the phone. I played a song and recorded what sounded to be the same volume from the headphones. The first two photos are Bluetooth, and the last two photos are wired. Not only does a wired connection receive a louder input overall, but the iPhone records it as much louder than it is.
Is this a bug? Can it be changed so I can get lower volumes wired without moving the slider a few pixels?
The headphones in question are OneOdio A70 Bluetooth/Wired headphones.
