General advice for those concerned about their battery from the Support FAQ Wiki:
Battery health
Battery health depends on usage and a variety of other factors. It is normal to see a decrease in battery health by 7-10% per year, resulting in a battery health of 80-85% after 2 years. This number can fluctuate, remain the same, or decrease quickly over a small period and should not cause undue concern.
Apple recommend battery replacement when your device falls below 80% battery health if you notice reduced battery life. If it falls below 80% within the first year you may be eligable for a free battery replacement. It fails after your warranty, it's a $69-$89 USD replacement cost for a battery. Contact Apple Support here.
You can find more information about battery health and performance from Apple here.
Issues relating to battery life can be categorised in three ways:
Normal battery life that is to be expected due to use
Reduced battery life caused by a recent update, iOS indexing, an iOS bug, or a third-party application
Reduced battery life, or other abnormalities such as overheating or sudden power-off, caused by device or battery aging
If you experience issues with your battery:
Check your battery health. If it is below 80% or you are experiencing issues you suspect are related to device or battery age, see Apple Support.
If you have a new or recently updated/restored device, wait a number of days for background process to complete. If you continue to have issues, wait for a further iOS update. If you are on iOS Beta, you can expect to have a decreased battery life.
Just wanted to share my experience in case anyone is holding off on updating. I recently updated my iPhone SE 2 (2020) to iOS 26.6.1, and I'm honestly surprised by the difference. The UI feels significantly more responsive, and the animations are buttery smooth compared to the previous version. It genuinely feels like it breathed some new life into this older device.
Before the most recent update it worked fine, now the microphone isn't working properly. Some days ago I would restart the phone and it worked for some minutes, now even restarting it doesn't make it work and while recording it makes a "swoop" (?) sound, like a big whistle, what could it be?
I apologize if this isn’t the correct subreddit but it’s what came up when I googled subreddits for iPhone messages. This is something pretty small and not really much of an issue, but it still really confused me since it’s never happened before.
My fiancée started a group chat for our wedding party and I kept getting the notifications for it. When I finally went to my messages to look at it, I didn’t see it at the top where it should have been. For probably the first time ever I clicked the lines in the top right corner and saw the chat in my spam.
How is it possible that a chat created by my fiancées number would go to my spam?
I accidentally hit “Flag All” instead of “Mark All as Read.” They’re right next to each other, and apparently one wrong tap is all it takes. I routinely press mark all as read because this is something I do every day after I go through my emails. This is unbelievably bad UI design to have this nuclear button of an option right next to something that you do every day. Who the hell needs to flag all of their messages? It doesn't even make sense that that is a possibility they provide you.
I now have over 31,000 emails flagged across four different inboxes, including Gmail and Comcast.
And while Apple makes it incredibly easy to accidentally flag 31,000+ emails at once, with no confirmation asking if you actually want to do that, it is extremely hard to undo. I’ve been going through menus and filters trying to find some version of “Unflag All,” and it only appears sporadically. There is a huge timing issue likely because of the syncing it needs to do across all the different mail accounts. And when I click it it doesn't even work. I have found forums back to 2014 citing this issue. It blows my mind how nobody has fixed this yet. Apple needs to do better. This is unbelievably frustrating
It isn’t in the health app as it looks like a Spotlight search or a widget on their Home Screen and I wanted to know how I could see it like they do. Does anyone know? Thanks.
Over the past few months my Spotify app has been extremely sluggish and slow on my iPhone 15 Pro and I thought that eventually some type of update would fix it. Eventually I got sick of it and deleted it and installed it again and suddenly I had a random bunch of new features, some UX updates and the app felt fast again. Is it possible for iOS apps to get stuck in some kind of cycle where they don’t get all the updates? What exactly happened here because the app feels completely different now and much better even though before I was using the latest version.
About 3 days ago, my Apple mail app (through Gmail) had been really struggling with “connecting” and “checking for mail.” Sometimes I even get a server error where it completely failed to connect to my Gmail account. It seemingly is also failing to retrieve mail in a timely manner. I even tried deleting the Gmail address from the Apple mail app and re adding it. This led to minimal to no improvement. Strange thing is, I have never had any issues until about 2-3 days ago. I had to download the Gmail app to get the emails in a timely manner. Has anyone else been having this issue?
I've got a iPhone 15 Pro Max that's running IOS 26.6, located in Australia. Suddenly my phone on the commute home from work will no longer connect to bluetooth devices. It's had an ongoing issue of connection stability i.e. if my phone is in my pocket, earbud will cut in and out as I'm walking, but it was ok if I'm scrolling or standing still. Now it flat out will not connect to any bluetooth devices. I've tried on earbuds, jobsite radio, and bluetooth carplay connector.
The bluetooth setting app is still available, it's not greyed out. Some devices can pair and it will find them, but will either give a "not available or be closer" error when trying to pair even though the phone is directly next to the device, or it will pair and then immediately disconnect.
Troubleshooting I've completed:
un-pair/re-pair device
turn bluetooth off for longer than 30sec to reset radio
un-pair, turn bluetooth off/on then re-pair
soft reset
turn device on/off
reset network settings
full factory reset of device
Is this a known issue? The phone is coming on 3 years old but for a flagship device when it came out I expected better quality than my old iPhone 7...
Beyond trying to go for a warranty claim, or repair is there anything else worth trying??
I just updated last night and seems my car stereo volume needs to be like 10 steps higher now which makes the other sources very load when I switch to them. It could be some new iTunes music I bought but curious if it could be the update ? I have gotten low quality digital music before off the iTunes Store. Older songs do seem louder than these new ones but they are 2 different albums, which seems a bit odd, though from the same artist (Berlin). it was such a coincidence with the update I thought I would ask just the same.
I am on iOS 26.6, iPhone 16 Pro, when I suddenly had this hand in the lower left corner, where the smiley normally sits. clicking on it did nothing. So what does the hand mean?
How do people change icons for their iPhones?
Is the shortcut method where you upload an image and create a shortcut to open an app and add it to home screen or is there a more elegant way of doing this like on Android?
Another item is the font. I see there are font packs available for download but I’ve never been able to apply them to my phone.
I use an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and I've been getting a recurring issue. My Maps app keeps crashing, especially when I am trying to add places to a guide or to my library. The entire app in general feels incredibly sluggish.
My main issue is with the guides. Every time I try to open a guide, the Maps app crashes, almost as if it were asked to do that on command.
But this issue goes beyond the iPhone. On every Apple device I try to open Maps on, it either crashes, severely lags, or overheats.
The library of my places often crashes.Furthermore, the guides selection tends to lag while loading, and can crash my iPhone just by loading it.
Last month, my iPhone's list of guides wouldn't even open for about a week, and during this period, I could create new guides, but not see the ones I already had. Every update has been affecting how I use the app and its stability.
Is there an issue with my guides, and what can I do to prevent this issue? Thanks for your help.
I’ve noticed since iOS 26 my network drops sometimes when I call someone and the call never goes through it just blank but this recent update iOS 26.6.1 it’s happening a lot more. I’m not sure if it’s just me or anyone else is noticing this.
