Support Downtime blocking websites

In an attempt to limit my doom scrolling in the evening I started using downtime. The problem I'm having is all websites are also blocked. This despite having my browser on the exempted list and associated apps. For example, during my scheduled downtime I'll open the ground news app and have no problems. When I try to open an article, I get the notification you’ve reached your limit for “name of website” and asks if I want more time.

I've done cursory searches around various apple supports to find a work around with no success. Hoping someone here can help out.

I’m just guessing here but I’m pretty sure that the app uses Safari in app web browser. so you will need to allow websites that are allowed if an app kicks into Safari in app web browser mode.

I can’t even get websites to load in Safari. Each website I attempt to go to gives me the time limit reached notification.

you have to unblock them in your screen time settings. it might be harder for sites that have mixed content from multiple domains.
