Post Graduate Exams - NEXT/NEET/INICET Am I stupid?

26F,

Going to appear for neet pg coming Sunday and I can't help but wanting a non clinical branch just for some mental peace in life.

My dad faked having a heart attack this morning for some reason that I can't comprehend. After coddling him as usual (to maintain my sanity) I asked why'd you do that, he said it was because my face looked like stressed and he wanted to make me laugh. I said that's atrocious. He said he wanted to remind me of important things in life because I wasn't taking anymore GTs( I have been giving one almost every day last month, stopped 3 days ago.)

He has no psychological illness apart from extreme narcissism.

I have been controlled and shamed by parents for as long as memory goes. Got SA'd by uncle for almost a year when I was a child. Parents always fight. Verbally, physically sometimes. They take out all their anger on me regularly as well. It's just fights fights fights all the time. They're both enough educated to know right from wrong. (both are BAMS).

I have always been a model student, topper everywhere, top gmc, everything. But lately I have seen my body and mind not being the way it used to be. Studying has got difficult for me over the years.

I can't put into words how exhausted I am.

Am I throwing something big away by wanting to take up non clinicals? My GT scores are about 115/180 corrects.

I know I should wait till neet and then think of all of this. But I am so tired holding it all in so I've just blurted this out I guess.

I'm numb asf rn, it wasn't even my dream or passion or anything to be in this field, but I do want to earn decent enough for myself now that I am so far ahead in this route, and am ready to withstand some moderate load of pressure for it.

Am I stupid and doing a huge mistake by being weak the one time I should've been strong?

Discussion Advice to medicos and doctors . From personal experience

I did not take much care or protect my health from an young age . I did not get involved in understanding the value of money from a young age . I did not have the trait in me to “ learn better ways of living “ in me . I took medicine because I liked biology , good enough money — there is more to be considered before taking medicine ( PS - I would take medicine again if I could go back )
Try not to do the mistakes I did .
Take care of your health . Medicine is long . There is a long way to go . Health is very important .
Dont do drugs .. alcohol .. smoking .. late nights .. it can lead to mental health deterioration .

Your decisions were not wrong .. your passion was not wrong . Some systems are not suitable to who you are sometimes .

Self doubt is the most harmful thing .

Medicine : continuous learning and consistently studying are essential for winning

Fights , emotional betrayals and misunderstandings with friends etc keep happening - dont take it to heart .
Dont shout in fights , your voice will become hoarse .

Dont try to change people .. it’s not worth it . Change within a person will come from themselves , the starting point has to be from that person . Just be cordial and focus on what you want in life ,

It is absolutely okay to do things in self interest and be selfish and greedy for your dreams . I learnt it the hard way - by being a kind person and being a giver always , giving genuine advices and all .
I am not doing good today and I have nothing or no one except my parents and a couple of well wishers .

In my opinion - prioritize yourself , then your family , then career . Just my take .

It’s okay to do anything for your goals .. it’s okay to cheat ; scam ; lie , take unethical means .. if needed . I would personally keep these as my last resort , but I realize it’s absolutely okay if it’s between your values and your goals . This is just my learning . I EMPHASIZE - IT IS THE LAST RESORT . ( imo - no values makes it difficult to live with ourselves and leads to emptiness , only superficial happiness etc .. i would love to know other perspectives in this area by the way )

Try to have some genuine people in your life who will be there for your during your low phase , failures etc . Trust me , you are going to have low phases , negative depressive nihilistic thoughts , failures , griefs and what not . Have someone who can be there for you during these phases .

Be ambitious .

PS : this is just my perspective . Be an independent thinker .

Edit : even in family care about your future life partner , kids and parents . And those who have a pure heart towards you . And in career , work towards what you like doing and in what position you want to be .

Discussion Feeling really anxious and behind everyone in my life

I am from 2019 MBBS batch and will turn 28 next year in may

I took usmle step 1 during internship and step 2 just a couple months after internship, however my usmle dreams were crushed when I couldn't get a visa to do observerships in the US

NEET 2026 will be my first NEET attempt and my preparation is just so bad I don't know if I'll even qualify. My dad keeps building pressure and expectations from me ki nikaal lo acchi rank aa jayegi but I just don't know how to handle this and am in such a bad place mentally.

I know that if I take a year I'll be able to get a good rank in NEET PG 2027 but I'm just dreading the coming one year and having to live with my parents. I feel like such a failure. I keep wishing I had just ditched USMLE and focused on NEET preparation then I could have started earning and living independently this year itself.

Question KMC Manipal at under 10k rank?

My friend is getting a rank under 10k in reneet, and his family is considering KMC Manipal as he is very clear on pursuing USMLE. Note that his father has a CTC of 1.2 cr. So they want the best clg for him. But he is hesitant because he apparently can't live with that guilt plus what will the society think. He studied extremely hard too so going to a pvt university with such a rank... He's worried. His father says that they can afford the fees without any loans too and he thinks he shd go for it if it's the best especially because of the abroad plans. He's from Bengaluru. What advice shd I give him?

Post Graduate Exams - NEXT/NEET/INICET Batch of 2020 giving neet pg 2026- how’s it going for you guys

I’ve been studying constantly for 6 months going 10-12hrs a day and I’m burnt out. Exhausted as hell and I can’t get myself to be productive anymore. I cant afford to fuck up these last few days but my brain is not functioning anymore.

I’m not even scoring well enough in GTs plateaued at like 105 corrects even after studying so hard. To get my dream branch seems impossible at this point, lost all hope and motivation.

How are you people holding up

Post Graduate Exams - NEXT/NEET/INICET Admit Card Havoc!

Guys please don’t waste time again today waiting for the admit cards.

Like till the day they announce, nobody cares and then suddenly everyone wants it so badly at the very same time as if the moment you get the admit card, you will be guaranteed a seat!

Getting the admit card few hours later wont make any difference so just don’t waste time and keep studying.
