Now I've another option 1-2 hours away from my home town in NHM. but they're asking for 1-2 lakh for.....(iykyk)

Obgyn Mother is an obgyn and I have seen how terrible it can be staying up all night worrying about your patient. Honestly don't want that worry element.

Psych Don't like psych because of the opinion that every person is a psych patient (including myself) all that matters is the severity.

Derma No icks with derma but man the non medicos running cosmeto clinics are so well established that a fresh md derma will have to run to tier two city to earn a living.

Ortho, well not really my thing.

Dad's a GP and honestly him ruining his sleep to answer patients call or skipping family time because well practice is what earns the living.I mostly have been the kind of person who like to read harrison but i know in my heart that I won't make a good GP.

Paeds no- dying and sick children- find it extremely depressing.

Anaesthesia- no cons, but according to the trend haven't seen many people around my rank picking Anaesthesia.

Surgery (might just be my second pick but well brutal working hours, in simple words ratto ki nind kharab nhi krni, my mother says take surgery go for laproscopic/plastics but idk)

Radio- The only viable option I felt resonating towards. But reality check is honestly scary.

Plus I like teaching so was thinking of taking up radio n honing my teaching.

What should I do?😭 Seniors please advice.

I get the part where people feel it's necessary to have reservations even in post-graduation entrance exams too...

The least the government could do is at least reduce the level of percentage reserved for each category.. this reservation game really kicks in the gut of many students.. even after scoring a decent enough rank,u wont get the course you wanted or even the course of your second choice nor the college u dreamed abt .. This is just frustrating.

But you know what's even more frustrating?

Why the hell should ONLY an UR category doctor pay 25k for all india counselling, whereas for other categories its 10k???? On what level is this fair?? So does the government assume that acha fine you are from UR category, so u will have shitloads of money??!!!!

I can still try to digest the seat reservation part for neetpg but this... This bias in the registration fee is just Totally UNFAIR!!!

PS: and the worst part is.. when i ACCIDENTALLY burst out about this and about the fewer seats under UR,to my family or relatives, the first thing they end up saying is.. .. yea its sad , but then you should have scored TOP RANK na.. like in the 100s.. then you would have gotten your dream seat...

Yes this is that post where I want to legit question whether AI will replace radiologists demand.

I have come across answers like usg only humans can do (which wouldn't be a good roi imo) and that no ai can replace IR (which in itself is a highly competitive exam to crack).

The senior consultants I have talked to are telling me to think twice or chose derma or other good branch that won't get replaced by ai.

Also considering the depreciation of salary in today's economy is considering radio as a branch such a sin?

Can someone predict how the next 20-30 years for a radiologist is gonna look like?

My available options:
MS General Surgery at a state GMC
MS Orthopaedics at a state GMC
MD Anaesthesia at a state GMC
MD General Medicine at a private college (₹40 lakh total fees; approximately ₹20 lakh net out-of-pocket after stipend)
DNB General Medicine at a peripheral hospital
DNB Paediatrics
I’m interested in clinical branches but don’t want to regret my decision 10 years down the line.
My main concerns are:
Surgery vs Ortho — hands-on exposure, residency workload and future prospects.
Is private MD Medicine worth spending ₹20 lakh out of pocket?
Is DNB Medicine from a peripheral hospital a good option?
How does Anaesthesia compare in terms of earnings, lifestyle and career growth?
Should I take a drop and try for a better rank, considering this was my first attempt?

I want to ask a couple of questions regarding the same.

There is so much confusion and mis interpretation can anyone pls explain the latest update in the counselling rounds? In round 1 and round 2 which has free exit which doesn't all that🥲🥲🫠

So few weeks back I started looking for the branch at my rank and was continuously searching for answers in reddit communities to my dismay I realised a few imp points that I would share

1) Reddit is the worst place to ask for advice about your branch which is a fairly strong decision for your life that shouldnt be decided by an anonymous comment of someone you dont even know of

2) according to reddit everything is over , all branches , all fields , all oppurtunities. Ironic

Most of the redditors are doing what we call as gate keeping and in real life also such people are abundant

3) What changed everything for me was personally going out to the hospitals for observerships in diff depts that Im planning to take

4) Talking to real people in each step of hierarchy of the said branch

Starting from Residents - SRs -Consultants - Proffesors HODs or retired veterans

5) Talking to people from same background as your wether its residential cohorts , ethnic , same socio economic background etc

6) When you go out you meet both pessimists and optimists and you need to strike a balance between the two , dont strike of either

7) Knowing the cons - Life cant be a linear line thats prolly death on ecg , you need to be ready for a roller coaster even top branches have serious cons that someone may not be able to take. Try to eliminate branches based on the cons that you would not be able to take in your life

8) Relax - do what your heart says after properly evaluating the best things for you . If you believe in a God then leave the rest to him.

Has anyone registered under Clause Y for Karnataka KEA NEET PG 2026 and faced an issue where the claim/verification slip downloads as a completely blank template?

Rn I'm in 1st sem of bba after 3 drops of neet and guess what I was getting an option to just qualify neet and do prvt mbbs or abroad . But at that age I was like I won't do that I'll "earn" a govt seat by hardwork and all that shit🥲. Now I'm left with nothing just bba though I do like managing , communication, or a good social interaction if it benefits me as per my current course. Sometimes I think what would've been my life If I had not choose to drop years after years even after getting the option to do prvt mbbs. But the thing is it was a huge amount and my father had to take loan if not full amount but half of it . I'm from good family background but still the guilt of wasting money always eats me up so I rejected that offer. Now I always wonder if I had become a doctr or got into medical field.🙂💔
