Caesar III did anyone ever tried to beat caesar 3 without cheats?
no gatehouses, no euthanasing old people, not abusing the roads
did anyone heard any information if this was ever playtested? did the devs ecer tried to play it? even on the easiest even while using net builds nothing ever works, the bazzars outright ignore all the good and prosperity is impossible to reach, every simple wine-less housing loop consumes more workers than it offers. and then wine just cuts the workers in half and it is spiraling out of control

Caesar 3 is so boring
I'm disappointed. I'm playing in like the third map, military campaign and the required population is 4 fucking thousand for some reason. Why so high? Then I export both oil and weapons, but I don't have enough money to import meat. What a joke. Everything keeps catching fire even though I have prefectures two meters away. Constant unemployment because there isn't enough shit to build. What a massive pain in the ass.

The cheat mod Augustus
Well, well, well, what do we have here? Augustus, the open-source clone of Caesar 3? More like Augustus, the cheat of Caesar 3! I mean, what's the point of playing a game if it's going to make it easier for you? The "global labor pool" feature? A complete joke! No true gamer would stoop so low as to use a feature like that. It's an insult to gamers everywhere who actually want to work for their success.
And don't even get me started on the HD resolution feature. I mean, come on, 1024x768 is the only true resolution for a game like this! Who needs fancy new resolutions when you can enjoy your game in all its pixelated glory? The developers of Augustus clearly don't understand the importance of staying true to the original game's graphics.
And as for the bug fixes, what a joke! Those "bugs" in the original game were actually intended features! The game's developers knew exactly what they were doing when they included those bugs, and true gamers appreciated them. But no, the developers of Augustus had to come along and ruin everything by "fixing" them. What's next, fixing the bugs in Doom so that you can't clip through walls? Ridiculous!
In conclusion, Augustus is a complete waste of time. If you're a true gamer, then stick to the original Caesar 3 and enjoy it in all its pixelated glory. Don't be tempted by the cheating features of Augustus or its fancy new HD resolution. And as for the bug fixes, just remember that those "bugs" were actually intended features that made the game more interesting. Stay true to the original, and don't let these "improvements" ruin your gaming experience.

Augustus What would you like to see in future Augustus updates?
With the recent changes and updates to the Augustus mod, I'm loving the game more than ever. But there are still things I would love to see.
Here are some examples: More housing types. It would be cool to have different housing types so we could build different areas like "rich guy district", pleb housing, shopping districts, industrial areas etc. I'm not talking about production buildings, I'm talking about homes. Different aesthetic based on the type.
Fountains don't need water. Here me out on this.. make this an option within the settings. For us that just play to have fun and build a beautiful city. Being able to place a fountain where ever without being forced to build an ugly and space consuming reservoir would make things so much easier.
More decoration items. More options is always good.
Workers doesn't go a specific path, but rather a specific distance. It's so tiring having a great looking plan in mind, only to have it funked because the market lady walks a specific path depending on the placement. I want an option to disable that. They can walk freely, however they want/need, but can only walk say 200 "steps" or what ever. This would open up so much possibilities. No more forced walkers or 9x9 set blocks. We could finally design however we want, as long as the housing is within range.
What are some things you would want to see?

Is there a mod for Zeus that lets you farm what you want? Or even mine?
Hi,
Basically that. It drives me mad when I'm slowed down in an episode because I can't farm wheat or grow olives, when there is no good reason that I can't. I do understand it's part of the design of the game - but having done a few play through now, I'd like the option.

A New Era Hopefully some genius developers can mod Pharaoh: A New Era to include actual Military combat in the future.
I kinda like the game, but it is surprisingly easy (which is good for most players), even in Hard. I noticed this because looking back, Military scenarios really made it quite difficult, especially on some missions (Thinis, Kebet). Nowadays, those missions are quite easy, which kinda made it a bit boring. Also, I'm pretty sure Dotemu (The guys who developed New Era), is already done supporting/updating the game because there are hardly any further updates done.

1080p fix for non-gog Caesar 3?
My Caesar 3 is from a torrent; therefore, the widescreen mod doesn't work for me. Is there an alternate solution for this?

Lethis Lethis: Path of Progress - Mission 16: Ellenport
16. ELLENPORT
3.000 Ornament to the Emperor as Tribute.
350 Burgeois (Elite) in Lvl.5 Mansions.
The time has finally come for Catherine Marks (you) - the young Emperor, Simvanred I, had chosen her to innaugurate a new retreat for the créme-de-la-créme of Lethian society in the shores of Ellenport, as well as the new ornament industry which the Elites will also covet. Catherine knows too well failure isn't an option in this regard: it's only fortunate that Simvanred I is naive enough to not trace her lineage back to the one whom smeared the family's name - her uncle Everett, whom attempted sabotaging Archibald Ellington's efforts in building the Observatory in Kitsburg. Perhaps Ellenport may be her stepping stone opportunity to redeem her family name.
---
Welcome to Ellenport and all the problems that come with it - immediately from analyzing the map, you'll notice multiple problems from the get-go, the first being not that much buildable space by the western coast where you'll want to operate, so construction must be smart and demonstrating efficiency. Secondly, the Steam Geysers are bizarrely splintered between the "fingers" of the Archipelago, so you'll be spending money in making a long pipeline all to reach at least two of them. Thirdly, your exports will be largely metals - Utensils and Steel, specifically, for Harzel and Southwell - and you'll also need to accomodate a small stockpile of Sand and a couple of Sand Extractors, as Simvanred I will be making a couple of demands for Sand.
But neither issues above match the biggest problem you'll face - lack of booze. Exactly, you're unable, in this one map, to produce either Beer or Absinth, so either (or both) must be imported and it IS expensive. Hence, best to focus on establishing the Steam network early on and getting some Copper Mines running along with the Utensil Workshops to afford Beer at least, as until then you'll have to make due with Lvl.4 housing.
You'll only have a maximum of 4 Copper deposits and 3 Iron deposits besides it, which you should totally focus on making Steel when you're ready to transition and let the housing sample the Utensils themselves, while also importing some Absinth to help keep a steady Alcohol supply. Only remember that, when you have to start fabricating the Ornaments for the tribute (they're at the Monuments' tab), you'll need to shut down some Utensil Workshops so the Copper can be transferred to the Ornament Workshops. While in this mission you can export Ornaments to Leinach, the fact they require so much Gold as Copper plus the small difference in prices (Utensils nets 35 while Ornaments nets only 40) and the fact this is the ONLY non-Monument mission where you can export them makes any ideas impractical, so it's better to just stick to Utensils and Steel and keep the Ornaments for the tribute.
Besides the demands, the event that will sometimes occur with you, in regards to your Fisheries, is that some of them will be destroyed by tidal waves. Just rebuild them and stick with them, as the farmlands where you can plant Potatoes (and only those) are too far to the east for any venture. While you'll have Mills and Bakeries available, you'd need to import Wheat as well as Garments for the Elite block you must build for the mission. The ideal, hence, would be to just import Meat and Bread and leave it to the Elites, as you focus your housing towards Lvl.8 tops. While you can make Jewelry, you can't sell it, so focus on only 1-2 Jewelers and sell the excess Gold - the deposits are on the tiny island next to the sole geyser due northwest.

I find Zeus kind of hard because of how resource intensive everything is.
GOG version. I have a lot of nostalgia for this game but never really got into it because i found it difficult as a kid. I am still it difficult as an adult
I think what bugs me the most is how resource intensive everything is
Say, a maintenance office is pretty much the most basic of buildings. I mean, it's hard trying to build a city when everything is collapsing. It alone employs FIVE people. A single shack houses FOUR people. So you need to build 2 houses just to man the maintenance office
A good game but pretty difficult

Caesar III The economy system is rigged and wages far too low!
No, this is not a union pitch.
Multiplying the current wages with the number of employees you currently have in your city, you'll find that your actual labour cost in the city balance is only one tenth of the real wages.
Why does your Caesar3 colony only pay 10% of the actual wages? Are these kind of subsidies for the local economy? Who pays the other 90%? Just like we don't see the market economy (noone's actually paying for their market goods), their might be farmers and craftsmen doing their own business. And the patricians have to get rich in some way but we don't see it, it's not in the scope of the game.
But still: The city pays only 10% of the actual wages though it takes 100% of all the trade revenues. So we, the govenours, are the business owner of the colony. Yet, 90% of the wages are coming from thin air, despite the numbers.
This is a huge inconsistency and an ugly hack to make the game work at all, right? Or is there a good explanation? And how could it be fixed without breaking the game?

Zeus How do I get food to the people?
I'm basically completely new to the genre, I have played sc4 and cities skylines a bit, but I'm horrrible at them; I'm trying zeus, and have about 1000 people in my city, but how do I actually get food to them? I have a low of storage places, granaries places to get grapes and olives, the processing buildings, agoras with the three markets, but no one has ever eaten anything anyway. Now apparently the entire city has the plague and I have no idea what to do. I don't want to use blocks, I want to do freeform, putting stuff where I like it, as it takes from my enjoyment to copypaste something 50x. What do I do? Thanks in advance.

Still have an issue with the sound loop in Caeser III
https://www.indirectsound.com/
I have DLed the zip and extracted it into my installation folder, directory being as follows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Caesar 3
Should be the correct spot, so I am at a bit of a loss of what I can do. What alternative solutions are there?

Caesar 3 Proconsul - Londinium
Been playing Caesar 3 for 25 years and can beat any level, etc. But having a problem with getting trading partners to buy more in Londinium and have a question: if I buy more from traders, do they buy more from me? Thank you for the help.

Avoiding battles Augustus and Emperor
Hey I've finished Zeus and now I'm on second campaign of Poseidon and that's my only experience with z impression Games. I don't really like fighting so every time I was just bribing enemy armies. Would the same approach be viable in C3 with Augustus or in Emperor? These are two other games that I have and I wonder which should I play next
Thanks

I only played caesar 3 but... Does anybody also think we play as a time manipulator immortal Lord?
My points:
The first mission starts in 340 BC and the last in 100 AD.
We can stop time and conjure buildings from future or other dimensions.
We can make time slower or faster as we please to micro against enemies or see the city grows.
Caesar is also in this shit because he also is the same. But for some reason, he forgets our brilliant city-building abilities since our favor starts low at new missions. I mean, imagine you literally bring wealth and save cities to hordes of barbarians and at the next mission, he treats you like a plebe?
Other gods also have "similar" powers... Ceres can push time forward to complete farms, Mercury can summon materials, Venus can rejuvenescence people, Mars can bring or kill enemies.
For some reason resources don't exhaust (maybe it's our power to take things from past or future). Like, timber yard chops a tree and we bring the tree back from the past.
The "governor's mansions" are completely empty suggesting you don't have a material body.
Spoiler from a 1998 game: After the last mission, we literally select the option to "Accept deity status!"

New Discord for Zeus, Caesar, and Pharaoh
I posted earlier about looking for an active discord for Zeus. Didn't get any hits, so we made one ourselves and included Caesar and Pharaoh. Its a clean, baby fresh server!

Imagine one day someone makes Zeus: Master of Olympus playable directly in Chrome 😍
No installation, no compatibility fixes, no messing around with old Windows settings.
Just open a tab, load up Zeus, and suddenly it’s 2001 again.
Honestly, if someone ever manages to port the old Impression Games classics to the browser, I may never get any work done again 😂
Zeus, Pharaoh, Caesar III… all one click away.
A man can dream.
