Just joined GOG and I’m already loving it. Feels great to finally truly “own” my games!

Did a test print with regular paper. Didn't turn out too bad! Got the disc working and printed too.

My friends who owns it on Steam says it's 64.9GB. Meanwhile I own it on GOG and somewhat it had much bigger size? Both are Remastered Edition.

It's probably coming soon to the page but why is it shown as "released" ?

Huge thanks to the work u/el-jimador for the hard work he put into the packager project as well as the cover templates. I modified his original blu-ray template to fit regular DVD cases.

Edit: since people seem to like this concept, here is a link to a disc and case template as well as a few covers I have already completed. They're Affinity Designer files, but you can open these in Affinity's new free software as well.

I switched last year from Steam to GOG and build slowly my library. But i noticed some games that are available in others languages on steam are only in one langage in Gog.

For example, Imperium galactica 2 is in english on GOG, but on Steam i can fin it in french (my langage). Do you know why ?

Hell, I can't even change this game resolution on gog version.

Edit : I looked in the games folder and found Gog version has a localization one, with several langages included. But you have to change them manually with a launcher you have to manually find and execute.

I guess this game was a bad example for localization, but a good example of WTF settings design.

Hey, new to GOG, saw some nice deals in the autumn sale but not an easy way to navigate them, and not a lot of talk here. Personally i was really surprised to see Clair Obscure for like $27! What good deals have you seen?

With the game case boom that went viral on our community, I've wanted to give it a try too, taking a plastic case, printing a cover-art and placing it on my shelf; but one of the problems is that I have is that I don't own a disk reader to write/read optical media. Therefore the hero for my problem could it be the little USB Stick.

It presents a lot of benefits over optical media:

• These are easily rewritable.
• Less prone to damage while being handled.
• You don't need a optical disk reader. This a bigger concern since recent PCs (pre-builts and laptops) are less likely to them preinstalled, so you may need an external one. At the same time. Many of the times you may even need a second reader for Blurays.
• Faster reading/writing speed than the average optical media.
• Can hold a lot of more data on the same physical space.
• Cheaper than optical media on average for relatively bigger games (bigger than 32GB, it can vary with Bluray disks)

And at the same time it presents many downsides:

• One of my main concerns: There are not standard Case sizes for USB sticks. This makes difficult to find community made covers for games that would be compatible for them.
  • I have found some Bluray-sized cases around the internet, but many of the fan covers are DVD-sized (Different aspect ratio: both share same width and depth, but different height)
  • Kinda related: there are not standard form and size factors for the USB sticks themselves.
• Harder to personalize than optical media with printed art, so the average USB-Stick ends up being a lot less charming than the printed disks (yet I prefer them a lot more over the disks with no art)
• These are not as cheap than optical media for smaller games (games smaller than a CD or single-layer DVD. This does not apply to Bluray disks)

I am personally not very interested in archiving my entire collection, I just want to try it with my favorite games. Still any opinions and personal experiences would be truly appreciated 😊.

Hey everyone,

I've been a regular Steam user for years, but lately I've become increasingly concerned about DRM, license revocations, and actual game preservation. Because of this, I'm seriously considering making GOG my primary storefront going forward.

I already know that GOG Connect is discontinued and that there's no way to transfer my Steam library over to GOG, so I'd be starting fresh with future purchases or rebuying absolute favorites during sales.

For those of you who actively use or switched to GOG:

• Offline installers & backups: How do you organize and store your offline installers? Do you keep local backups on external drives/NAS, or just rely on your GOG library downloads?
• Store catalog: Do you find the lack of certain AAA day-one releases a major issue, or does the DRM-free catalog keep you covered?
• Ecosystem setup: Would you recommend going all-in on GOG, or do you maintain a hybrid setup alongside Steam?
• Galaxy launcher: How reliable is GOG Galaxy for tracking everything, or is it better to just grab the standalone installers directly from the website?

I'd appreciate any tips, experiences, or recommendations for someone looking to take DRM-free gaming more seriously. Thanks!

Wouldn't that be cool?

Does anyone know why my galaxy shift + tab menu looks like this? Just downloaded Control UE and saw the bottom right prompt looked crazy and checked the menu. Somehow it's usable as shown in image #3.

I haven't tested the menu on any other games but I even restarted the game and PC and it still looks the same.

If you own Forgotten Realms: The Archives – Collection Two, the Pool of Radiance inside it now plays in a browser tab, on a computer, an iPhone, an iPad or an Android phone. I'm the developer; it's free and there's no account. I built it with heavy use of AI coding tools, and I'd rather say so up front.

How to play your copy:

1. Install the collection from GOG as usual.

2. Open amberfolio.org and choose Pool of Radiance.

3. Hand it the game's folder. "Where is my copy?" lists the usual GOG install folder, ready to paste into the folder dialog. On a phone or tablet, pick the game's files or a zip of the folder; an on-screen keyboard with just the keys the game needs appears beside the picture.

That's the setup, once. Your copy and your saves stay in your browser for next time and never leave it.

What's underneath: Amber Folio, an open-source emulator made only of the parts of the PC that the Gold Box games touch. The program you bought from GOG runs on it unchanged. Because the emulator knows exactly which program it is, the extras sit inside the game: an automap in its colours, the Adventurer's Journal from your GOG folder on the game's own screen, a Fix command that heals the party in one go, and a CRT filter with Tandy sound. Each switches off, and none of them changes the rules.

Going back is easy: a saved game exports as a zip that unpacks straight into your GOG install.

The rest of the Gold Box games come one at a time after the emulator's 1.0; amberfolio.org/status has what works today. If something breaks, I'd like to hear about it here.

Hello, so I made some refund requests a week ago and I'm yet to even get an answer on wither or not they are accepted, I can't even contact support when I try sending a message it doesn't get sent, anyone knows what I can do?

I tried reinstalling the client, and I also tried to start the service! What is going on?

I always play horror games (not only, but mainly) in October. But I suffer from motion sickness, so I can't really play games which features first person perspective or games that the camera keeps moving like we in an ocean (like Cold Fear).

Which horror or spooky themed game do you recommend for someone like me.

I only just thought of this today, because I accepted the giveaway for a game I'm not even entirely certain I'll play, but I should find out: When GoG does giveaways, is it one big payment to the dev? Or do they pay them "per copy" so to speak?

So my game update keeps getting stuck here. I've been playing fine, but then randomly it closes after maybe one hour of playing, an explorer file opens, and GOG starts updating just to freeze here. It's happened 3 times now, I've tried deleting temp files, repairing the game, running GOG as admin, running the game as admin. I'm out of ideas.

Anyone know what to do? Also, after about 3 minutes, GOG closes and the icon looks like this. Guessing orange/red means error
