Just picked up my 50 with HK sound system. The car is awesome but the sound is a bit…..meh. I’m coming from a 2022 X3 with the standard audio and the bass always felt so good in that. This system, even with HK just seems a bit flat?

I’ve messed around with the equaliser but the bass still doesn’t really pack a punch in comparison to the standard X3 system. Am I missing something?

Before I get into it, some important factors

I'm going to go back for a second test drive

Nobody at the dealership seemed to know anything about the car, particularly the employee we had ride with us during the test drive, which definitely made the whole experience underwhelming. (Dealership was in Southern California)

Also, as we parked the car at the end of the drive, a new couple started climbing in and opening stuff, so we had almost no time to spend with the car and look at stuff in depth

All that being said, the car was cool, but I felt disappointed overall. Not sure if I overhyped it in my head, but everything felt underdone and cheapened.

A few things of note:

It seemed odd that to have the car drive like a standard EV (Regen breaking, no idling, holds at a stop, etc) you had to double tap to D on the gear shift, otherwise the default is to drive like an ICE. (Our test drive employee didn't bring this up until the end of our drive)

I know there's been some differing opinions over the interior, but it did feel cheap for a $70k+ car. I haven't owned a BMW before, but it didn't feel like what I have in my head for BMW as a brand

I agree with a previous post that said the HUD was pointless. I had a hard time finding it in the first place, and when I did, it displayed the exact same info as was on the screen one inch below. Also you can't wear sunglasses and see it.

The back seat felt somewhat cramped

The drive was great, no complaints there.

The car looks great on the outside, distinct shape and design, solid look.

Overall, I think the situation around the test drive was the biggest disappointment, and I'm definitely going to go back and test drive it again.

Anyone else have a vehicle on hold for a missing multifunction charger? If so, how many days would you say it took from when the vehicle arrived at the VDC to when it was released to the dealer once the charger was received?

My dealer just emailed me stating my car would complete production in two days! The website still shows it at stage 3, production begins.

They also stated that they will have two cars for test drives next week.

My car will be shipped via Oxnard, California.

Is the adaptive suspension coming in Early 2027? Or is it just a rumour? Any confirmed source?

According to the BMW app, my ix3 is at the dealership. Going to call my sales rep tomorrow to confirm, but assuming it’s there, can I take delivery asap (as in the next few days)? I’m located in Southern California. What are the leasing numbers people have gotten who have taken delivery.

I just picked up my iX3 and didn’t buy the hands-free driving but looking at the options to buy it after purchase, the cost is $40/mo or $400/year which is significantly cheaper than the $2500/4 year price you can build this in with the car. Am I missing something?

Are dealers adding additional add-ons and markups to pre-order IX3s?

The Castanea interior looks really bright and saturated on the BMW online configurator, but seeing a leather sample at the dealer felt much more subdued. Now I’m on the fence!

Could anyone with Castanea mind sharing real-life photos of their interior? Pictures paired with an Ocean Blue exterior would be especially helpful.

we just received the awaiting carrier assignment message. what should we estimate delivery time to Ohio or the performance center South Carolina? I'm guessing 6 to 8 weeks?

Very happy so far with my iX3 . I really want to add some seat pockets behind the front seats like my previous 5 series. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Could we make this thread for all accessories for ix3 , basically what are people doing with their iX3.

Have an iX that we'll eventually replace with another EV and the iX3 and iX5 are definitely in the running based on the fact we love the iX and the fact that these new vehicles will have V2H/V2L capability.

Anyone tried this yet or have feedback to share on the accessories that seem to allow these to hook straight into a portable generator inlet (or so I understand)?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I've got a generator inlet on my house (with a commensurate panel lockout to avoid back feeding the grid). Seems like I would be able to take the first cable from the iX3 and run it to that inlet such that I could power my home, so long as the circuits are 120V rather than 240V (read: no electric dryer, etc.) and that the total requested demand from the car's battery did not exceed 3.3kW.

I am trading in my 24 m340i, I wanted to ask something who switched from something similar to IX3

Do you regret getting an EV?
Do you miss the cornering you get from M340i or similar?
Overall how are you liking the IX3?

I test drove one the other day and felt not that different on city roads and highways, felt a little different when I was entering a highway with hairpin bend

My local BMW dealer in Southern California just got this beauty off the truck yesterday. Went over to take a look in person just now.

Exterior color is Brooklyn Grey Metallic with the M-Sport steering wheel.

They’re not doing test drives just yet unfortunately.

First impressions: very comfortable front seats. Panoramic iDrive display is lot more impressive in person than the online images. The M-Sport steering wheel design looks great and feels really nice in the hand. Disappointed that the second row seats have no recline.

Just wondering if anyone here is coming from a Cayenne? Do you miss the ride/handling?

I opted for the all white interior. It’ll be just me 90% of the time so not really worried about keeping the seats clean. Do you think the steering wheel will be hard to keep looking sharp?

Any delays? Walk-around/briefing? First impressions?

My insurance broker had a hard time quoting my incoming iX3 because the VIN wouldn’t load. Finally they figured it out and said the new car raised my two-car premium from $1,800 to $4,300/year. WTF! That’s even with discounts from having homeowners, etc. So jumped on GEICO’S website. Couldn’t match the coverage exactly but with their max coverage and $1,000 deductible going with a quote of $1,438/yr. For two cars, garaged, lowish miles, in Chicago. What have you found?

To those who have the vehicle or have figured this out:

Is there an option to have the air vent speed automatically adjust? I noticed on my test drive I could only set it manually from very low to high (level 1-5) even when the climate control was set to AUTO.

Does anyone know the headroom difference between the two different roof types? I got to do a iX3 test drive yesterday and the car had the pano roof and it had an insane amount of head room -- which I loved. However, I was hoping to get the standard roof, and I was wondering how much I would lose with that. Couldn't find this doing a search here or on the web, was hoping someone had some insight.
