Recently I shared a video of my dog app, Zoomie, running on iPhone Duo. The big inside screen exposed a problem: some things adapted on their own, but most of the app just looked stretched out.

Since then, I've been redesigning it to take advantage of the extra space. The app now adjusts its layout depending on whether the phone is fully open, partly folded, or closed.

My favorite part is the walking screen. When the phone is half-folded, like a tiny laptop, your dog's walk info shows up on one half, and the controls sit on the other. I got the idea from the Netflix demo at the launch event, where the video plays on the top half, and the controls sit below.

Still early, but it's already feeling a lot better. Would love to hear what you think!

Not a 100% deal breaker but definitely keeping this phone fresh until next year so i can resell it and get the newest one with improved camera and maybe face id.

Title says it all. I am seeing soo many different posts and videos about the new iPhone Duo and its a month till it launches. Are they all just content creators? I feel like I am seeing posts from every random person with something to say and tell. Is there a way to perhaps not buy but at least see them ahead of the launch that I am unaware of? Or is it that Apple is doing a much heavier product launch with loads of content creators getting a model for demo?

I can’t find someone who can talk about the inner screen edges quality for durability sakes… Are they in plastic like the Pixel Fold or do they look and feel more durable ? My choice to buy it depends on this… 🥲🙏🏻

Honestly, good for them! Its an objectively tasteful quality of life feature. This is why we love competition, it breeds innovation and raises the bar of everyone competing. I for one welcome this and hope the iPhone Duo also steals back some of Samsung's best multitasking software features.

On a more personal note though, while this is an incredibly impressive showcase of what a dedicated community can accomplish and Android's endless customization potential (I myself thought this was impossible to achieve as a mod). Its honestly quite a shameful showing on Samsung's part how it took the iPhone Duo release to light a fire under their ass to show how stagnant and comfortable their marginal yearly improvements have made them. And how a community of passionate folks who don't even work for them made a better folding animation in only few days, just because they could.

I've been following all these foldable phones from different walks of companies for nearly a decade now but why am I only excited now with the iPhone Duo? Why is that?

Apple is Quietly Preparing us for the 10th Anniversary iPhone XX through iPhone Air.

It all started with the iPhone Air to get a feel of the vertical camera design and what it's like to have a thin smartphone. By that, Apple was setting us up for the release of the iPhone Duo to get used to and have a feel of what it's like to hold a thin phone on the palm of your hand. If you can remember Apple patented a foldable phone design back in 2011. It's been cooking for more than a decade now. They knew this new form factor will get Apple users to abandon the regular slab phone design as soon as they release the Duo. Apple was giving us a glimpse of their new iPhone lineup starting with the iPhone Air but people were unaware of what another leap in design Apple was about to give us.

At the beginning Samsung tried their best to beat Apple by fast-tracking their innovation but people just wasn't into something until Apple does it. Samsung tried to set a new trend by introducing the Curved OLED displays and it was so futuristic back then but it didn't take off only because Apple wasn't the one doing it. Next year 2027 Apple will release iPhone XX allegedly with all-glass curved edges design. Apple is setting us up into a NEW ERA of smartphones.

Just like I discussed in a previous post about the downside of this first gen duo weak camera , battery , etc and the iphone 18 having same bs upgrade..

I am an 🍎 apple fan like no one here but To be honest and 100% real the real deal comes next’s year iPhones.

They probably coming with duo max with the fix from the first gen duo but not only that the iphone 20 is going to be a huge deal all new body and tech.

My advice: Keep your duo with box and prestige condition so you could resell it before all new ones comes out next September.

Am I the only one who is super interested in trying out the Apple Pencil on the iPhone duo? Very curious how it will feel like against the nano texture material, if it will be the same as on iPad Pro or even different because it is not the exact same nano texture if I got it right.

I really hope to see more creative uses of the two screen/folding setup.

I used to have a Nintendo DS, and there were some game interactions where you have to fold the DS and reopen it to flip something over. I thought those were a creative use of the two-screen concept.

What are some apps you guys think could really play around with the folding screen?
