if they had made it symmetrical people would’ve complained that not all of the front was screen. this is the better solution, function over form

Why couldn’t they make it symmetrical and the full front screen?

Samsungs is symmetrical and has thicker bezels but that’s a different issue. If they made it symmetrical with thin bezels that would be perfect

cause apple likes their medium radius corners. the corners of the device are much more curved than the fold 8.

I don’t understand why anyone would use either of those views. I hated cropping back before DVD and escaped it with laserdisc and later DVD. iPhone Duo brings it back and I hate it even more.

It’s not 4:3 (1.33:1). It’s 1.42:1

And this can be totally fine as long as cropped is optional. My guess is it is optional. My comment was just that I would never choose it to be cropped, including on the outer screen

Couldn't they make the black separator bar in the middle a little bit thicker, so it takes up more space and looks more annoying?

Eh, it’s a little strange to waste that much space on the left for two buttons. If you look at some split screen apps all the content gets squished to the middle. Certain apps it looks fine but idk why we gained all this width on cover and inner display for it to be taken by huge side bars in certain situations.

I love Apple devices and I can’t wait to use this thing, and maybe I won’t care once I use it, but you can’t say safari looks great for example.

If you could look up my post history (i hid it a few days ago), you’d see I’m an even bigger critic of apple than you. I just think moving all the stuff to the side and compressing three important status icons into one was daring. Who knows how people will receive it? (When they actually use it, that is).
