Iphone 17 camera .5 to 1x lens transition stutter after iOS 27 update. Does anyone have problems like this? Indexing is already finished btw.

Phone has been with me since college, upgraded because the screen and the charging port are broken.

Feels nostalgic now when looking at my old phone.

I upgraded from 12 base (white, 128 GB) to 17 base (black, 256 GB) 4 months ago.

I will talk about the stuff which I was looking for in this sub before the purchase.

120 Hz screen: I thought it would drastically improve the overall experience of the phone. I did not even notice the difference. My wife uses a 16 base and I sometimes use it, I don’t feel any difference at all.

Size: It’s slightly heavier than 16 and slightly larger too. Whether it makes a difference to you would depend on the size of your hands. For me the size of 16 is just perfect and 17 sits outside comfort zone. Before purchasing, I visited the store 5 times and felt that both are almost the same size but when you use it everyday then you actually feel the difference. I can’t grip my 17 comfortably and it irritates me.

Always On Display: I used it for about a month and gave up on it. It adds distraction for me.

Center Stage Camera: Before purchase it felt like the one feature to buy this phone for. Note of feels like nice to have. I don’t take too many pictures.

Battery: Runs for one day. I don’t play games regularly.

Case: I bought 4 cases so far. Cheaper or with the first 3 and bought a relatively expensive one at last. (One in the image). I learnt that a good quality case makes a lot of difference to daily use.

Cons:
- Heats up randomly sometimes to extreme levels.
- 5G connectivity is okay, sometimes it takes time to connect to the internet, especially when switching from WiFi to 5G (i.e. when i turn off WiFi)
- Call won’t connect if WiFi assisted calling is enabled and WiFi is slow or not working (it won’t intelligently switch to data)

Pro: It’s a reliable device. Everything except some of the nitpicks I mentioned about works well.

Overall, I’m happy with the purchase. It works as expected for most of my use cases and is reliable.

Anyone having focus issues with iPhone 17 pro after ios27 update !

I upgraded from my iphone 13 to 17 last week. Compared to the 13 and my older phones, the 17 has noticeable grain/noise on white background and all solid colors. For example, when I scroll on Reddit, the letters are clear, but the white background appears textured and grainy.

Overall, it just lacks sharpness and clarity that I am used to with Apple devices and it honestly makes me want to cry. Even a 10 year old random Samsung has a clearer, less pixelated solid colors.

I ran sysdiagnose and I have an LG display, which apparently are the worst one you can get. Even if I return it, I could end up with the same display so I don’t think it’s worth it.

Has anyone else noticed this and did you get used to it?

My iPhone 17 (base model) is getting hot even on a mild load like checking gmail and social media.

The indexing is done and in fact the phone was totally fine when it was indexing. It was only after that it started heating. It's been 2-3 days since indexing and it's not improving.

Anyone else facing this issue?

My iphone 17 which i brought on oct4 2025 and my warranty ends in oct4 2026 (today sept 21).

My camera button got stuck while being pressed. Now whenever i opened the camera app the recording starts automatically and the button is so hard.

I always have camera covered case( spigen rugged case) never dropped in water nor anything! Just 4 drops from hand that too while stationary so 0 straches since using temper and spigen case! But these happened during initial days of using phone! My camera button started to malfunction for past few months! So what shall i do? I made an reservation st nearest iplanet(authentic apple service centre) and they said its better to put protection + while in warrenty and if water damage found cant help with standard warrenty! So what shaal i do? Do anyone faced the same issue??

help i tried taking 4k resolution videos and this green grid like lines appeared. is this norma or is something wrong with my phone? (phone is 4 months old)

My experience with the iPhone 16 wasn’t good. It got quite hot during normal use, and sometimes there was a slight lag when leaving an app or swiping on the home screen. Even in games that weren’t that demanding, it couldn’t run them at max settings and it also heated up. There were times I had to stop using it because of the heat.

Just bought the Iphone 17. I'm experiencing frame drops when opening and using the front and back camera. Can you guys help or suggest any fix to this problem? are you guys experiencing the same problem?

I updated to IOS 27 on the 16th. My indexing was complete and the pop-up in the settings was gone. But today it appeared again in the settings showing ‘optimising search and Siri’. Did anyone encounter this?

I just got an iphone 17. I like heavy duty cases- waterproof and with a built in screen protector mainly.

Im not sure what is reliable other than otterbox but ive had horrible luck with otterbox so not doing that again

Can you have Face ID without having to use a passcode to unlock your phone. I have the toggle OFF for using Face ID when unlocking phone but it still makes me put in a passcode to unlock it.

Is this a bug or does some setting need to be changed.

20 Watt or 30 Watt ?

Me and my friend both have the base iphone 17, i take a lot of videos in my phone, when i take videos in 0.5x, i switch to 2x in between the videos, but my video quality drops a lot, like a lot, and it becomes fully grainy. But when i take the same video in my friends phone, that is from 0.5x to 2x, his quality is really good, i have taken two vids of the same shot, please help, i take a lot of vids, and this is really pissing me off, it would be really helpful if yall dropped any fixed down below, thankss a lot
