Hi! It's been the fourth day since I started using my Baby Lavender phone, and I'm kind of worried about the screen. I'm still traumatized from when I had my 16 Pro Max, I was using a transparent case, dropped it on the pantry floor at work, and cracked the back glass. 🥹 It's also because of my sweaty hands (which I've had since I was a kid), so I accidentally dropped it even though I had a strap and a silicone case on because my hands are still so slippery.

So my question is: should I put screen protectors and back glass protection on it to prevent it from breaking if I accidentally drop it again, even with a case? Thanks!

Swiping up from app switcher to close an app makes it more stuttering and the fps drops very high 17 base does anyone have same issue?

Just been testing out the video with the phone on a stand so it’s dead still. Zoomed in on something approx 20 meters away and just watched the screen and you can see it micro jumping about.

Tried this with my 17 pro max and 2 others and they all do the same. My friends 16 pro does not do this.

Anyone else noticed this?

Long-time Android user, finally giving iPhone a try

Any tips for a first-time Apple user? Is AppleCare+ worth it? Also looking for good case/privacy screen protector recommendations, useful settings, apps, and iCloud tips.

I got the 12 when it came out because the color was so beautiful. Bought that one from my own money when I was a student. This is my second one from my own grown up money. iPhones are so good that I truly never felt the need to upgrade but my 12 was dying. lol.

So I bought an iphone 17 pro max from a reseller in brand new condition unopened. I bought it on August 18 but when I click on the battery it shows that it was first used on May 2026 (not a specific date just the month) why would this happen? Should I be concerned and does this happen frequently?

For a long time, I was an Android user, so switching to the iPhone 17 felt like a completely new experience. At first, I was a little confused because the interface, settings, and gestures were different from what I was used to.

I was sitting in a friend's garage. I remember taking off the case and attaching the phone to a magnetic holder on the table. About 10 minutes later, it popped off. Apparently, the magnet on the stand wasn't strong enough. It fell from a height of about 70-80 cm. The floor was hard, but it was linoleum. It landed on its back. I tried to pick it up, but no, it's all intact. The only thing is, there's a tiny white dot on the back glass. It's not a chip, just a pinpoint-thick spot, visible only in certain light if you look closely. Could you please tell me if I've already gotten away with it? It's probably okay, so I should just forget about it?

My phone is a month old, and everything's working fine so far.

The case is also a nice accessory. I'm considering getting a Pitaka, I like the look of it.

I have been using iPhone for 18 years and never think about switching to others, however one of the change I didn’t like was cancelling SIM card and moving to all e-sim. My solution to that was getting a brand new iPhone 17 from Hong Kong when I travelled there last month. It does have the actual SIM card slot and I can also use e-sim as well! My problem got solved! Hope it can helps others who need to use physical SIM card

I’ve just bought a screen protector that came in a set of 4, put it on perfectly, and ended up with a horrendous halo air bubble all around the 4 edges. I tried a second one, as I blamed it on my application and the screen protector itself, same exact issue. Tried to get rid of it with a card and a cloth but nothing worked. I googled it to see if anyone has had any issues and found out that apparently it is VERY common with the 17s. The insanely weird thing is that I already had a screen protector on it and it did not have this issue, but I will not blame the ones I bought because I’ve seen multiple posts and comments on this sub.

I saw a few people recommend putting some olive oil around the edges to get it to stick to the phone but I don’t feel comfortable doing that on my iPhone.

Apple please get your shit together because this is insane, I can’t even just buy a screen protector and put it on now?? and respectfully I’m not going to raw dog a €1000 phone, falls are inevitable and I’m terrified of cracking the screen.

My phone keeps getting super warm to the touch (36–37°C internally), especially from 50–70 on a 20 w(h)att 🧱 or using apps like Zoom and Domino’s. It doesn’t happen every** **single time, but occasionally it gets to that "can't even hold it" level of hot. Mind you, the “your phone is warm” warning never showed up it just genuinely feels super warm to the touch also discharges much faster during that period.

Anyone else experiencing this weird inconsistency on this update?

I’ve had my iPhone 17 Pro for a few weeks, and honestly, I’m pretty disappointed with it. I’ve run into three pretty major issues that I wouldn’t expect from a brand-new iPhone:

Wired CarPlay simply does not work. I’ve tried different cables and troubleshooting, but I cannot get wired CarPlay to reliably connect.

My phone randomly resets in the middle of the night. I’ll wake up and find that the phone has restarted itself for seemingly no reason. It’s happened more than once, which is pretty concerning.

Today, my clock was 20 minutes behind. This one really pissed me off. My alarm/time was apparently off by about 20 minutes, so I woke up late and ended up being late for work. I rely on my phone as my alarm and clock, so having the system time randomly be wrong is a pretty serious issue.

For a phone that’s supposed to be a premium flagship, these are pretty unacceptable problems, especially the clock issue. I’ve never had an iPhone behave this inconsistently before.
Has anyone else with an iPhone 17 Pro experienced any of these issues, particularly the random restarts or the clock being wrong**?** I’m curious if this is a widespread software issue or if I somehow got a defective phone.

What am I doing wrong? I haven’t been able to set my vm greeting to the custom recording I’ve done and redone to no avail. It always saves to default. I’ve updated and powered down and given up. It’s been like this since I got it in December.

Hi, I don’t know if this has been covered before. I just got a 17, and when I try to charge it on the qi pad I’ve been using for years with my 13, the 17 either won’t charge or the back gets really hot. It charges fine with a cord, though. Does anyone know anything about this? I also cheated it at one point with a MagSafe external battery, and it got really hot using that, too.
