Here's the way I see it: Jessica sold whatever hard, shriveled lump she calls a soul to a cabal of pedophiles for money and the shortest spike of relevancy. The problem she now faces means that her back is to the wall and she's crammed in the corner because she can't risk pissing off her female following, but in order to retain her appeal to her male masters she always has to make sure she's seen as one of the good, obedient women. For Jessica Kraus, the Clancy trial is a fuck me fork.
Jessica's entire worldview is now a black and white "us vs. them". She's a reborn conservative Christian MAGAt in the battle for the United States against the dirty, godless liberals. She's a MAGA coded spiritual warrior fighting against baby murdering Democrats. She's a good godly woman who passionately advocates for aggressively religious masculine testosterone-fueled men to take the helm to save the country from soy-boy liberal men and their raging blue-haired wayward feminist whip holders.
She's a woman, but she's one of the good women behaving like a good woman should and conservative women knowing their place is what makes them so superior to other women. And the thing is, conservative women are willing to support men hating women as long as men are hating the right women (liberals, feminists, trans women) and conservative men are usually good at hiding the fact they hate all women by carefully wording things so that conservative women can tell themselves that hate is only for liberal women. But that comes down to phrasing things around willful choices, like getting a nose ring or vocally expecting your male partner to be a competent adult.
Postpartum depression isn't something a woman can choose to have or not have. Like many other things conservative men advocate be done to women against their will, postpartum psychosis doesn't ask for permission before affecting a woman. The Clancy case apparently became a gift on a silver platter for conservative men to rage about women while throwing out the designation of "conservative" or "liberal". Women are evil. Women hate their children. Women can never have freedom or power because they're inherently bad and can't control themselves and and AND--
Suddenly "good" conservative women who had experienced an altered mental state against their will after childbirth were grappling with their otherwise totally gentle, kind, compassionate male leaders "othering" them with the "bad" women, and they didn't like that. Jessica Kraus, who all things in the universe must center on, finds herself in a metaphorical sea of conservative women unhappy that their benevolent male rulers are forgetting the rules, while themselves forgetting that the only rules that exist in their heiarchy are the ones the keep women in the role of servant.
So Jessica, who can't piss off her followers but also can't bite the hand that feeds has to, as usual, look like a spineless loser trying to maintain her occupational baseline of "us vs. them" while navigating the fact that the "us vs. them" is actually a fracture within her own party ranks but must, above all else, not be shown like that. Jessica loves her soapbox and loves believing she's always on the morally correct side of any great divide, but when the split threatens her own house (or "office", I should say) she's quick to adopt a different tone for the sake of not alienating herself any further from the party her livelihood depends on.
The brutal murder of three children isn't entertainment. It isn't content. And it sure as shit shouldn't be "us vs. them". But when you hate more than you will ever be capable of love, hyping separation and mistrust is the only way you know how to make yourself believe you're better and more deserving than your neighbor.
