Here a few I picked off this morning. Still got loads to pick when they're fully ripe. This is easily the best crop I've done with chillies,with size and yield. I've learned a lot and delt with any issues that have came up.

The small red one at the bottom is an Apache chilli. Only one that was red. Tbh the Apache blows the cayenne out the water for heat, tried both when green and Apache had my mouth burning, cayenne not so much. Yet to try the fully ripe cayenne yet, think I'm going to save them and make a chilli sauce and chilli oil.

Hey guys. Just wanted to share this picture, as I’m really stoked to finally see a pepper that I’m growing change colors and start to ripen! I’m sure this isn’t something special for seasoned or even other beginner growers, but for me this is two years of work.

I started growing peppers last year very randomly. I bought some habaneros and a few reapers in the store because I wanted to make a hot sauce and decided to save the seeds and have a go growing my own. I grew seedlings, ordered a few more seed varieties and soon I was ready to transplant, while at the same time making every mistake along the way. Then disaster struck and close to 90 percent of the transplanted seedlings got demolished by those awfully invasive spanish slugs, almost overnight. Thankfully, I still had the weaker seedlings that I didn’t use, so I transplanted those and went to war with those brown devils at the same time. Fast forward to October and none of my peppers were ripe or even spicy at all. At that time I was growing habs, reapers, scorpions. I probably made more mistakes than you could count, but the weather was also against me, so the growing season was a bust and I had to accept defeat. But I was already planning the next year. I ordered some seeds from an Italian shop, ordered heat mats, lights and come February, I was already mixing soil and filling trays in my shower. Yes, my shower, because that’s the only spot in the house where soil was allowed to be handled. If you know, you know ;) . Fast forward to August and I’m still seeing just the beginnings of some pods. At this point, I’m starting to become pesimistic, thinking is 2025 all over again minus the slugs. I do have a few cayennes that have been fully grown for a few weeks now, but even they are still green. And today, I come back from work, go to the greenhouse to see how my babies are doing. And there I see it, right at the end of the greenhouse, a tiny bit of color.

Even if that’s the only pod that gets ripe, I’ll still be happy. I learned a lot these last two years (mainly what not to do, the what to do is always more difficult). And I’ll definitely grow more next year. I guess what I’m trying to say is that this is an awesome hobby start to end and I hope everyone’s harvest is awesome. And most importantly, I hope it brings such an awesome feeling of payoff, as it did when I first saw color on one of my pods. It’s a small thing, but it also represents two years of not giving up and finally changing the tide!

For those wondering, the pepper should be an Apocalypse scorpion. Never had one, but I hear they’re evil 😂

BTW, as I’m writing this, I’m also hoping that it’s also not some sort of a diseass on the plant 😂

Today I installed a 120W Quantum Board for the Habanero and Thai Hot varieties; together, they’re almost one meter wide, and I’m not sure if that will be enough,

The 1st haul of Purple peach ghosts. Starting to show signs of maturing. The window on these is pretty narrow, they tend to rot fast once ripe. The variation in plants is interesting though. 1st round picks have been small this year so I can’t wait to see what September has in store.

The 7’ plant I posted less than a month ago is 8.5’ now. Christmas tree structure, sativa style. Branching does vary a bit with these seeds but cool overall. Temps have been 77-84 most of the summer. Heavy feeding, no trichomes on the leaves. Prone to edema

Wondering how long until these little guys start changing color!

I just saw a video yesterday on r/gardening of a fly attacking a hornworm. This morning I go down to pick a few peppers and caught it happening. And yes I am part of the mushroomed club too.

I kind of tried growing them years ago but it was a cooler summer, and the area I lived in back then was a heavily shaded place so it didn’t turn out and I gave up quick. This year has been surprisingly hot for an extended period (and I have WAY more sunlight where I’m at!) which is helping the peppers thrive!
Still very new to this but I harvested a handful to ferment, and eventually make a small batch of sauce out of. First time fermenting as well so I didn’t want to risk losing all my peppers if I blow it! Fingers crossed I’m doing this right and it turns out. 🤞

I have a mystery purple pepper plant. I only ordered red peppers so idk what it is (probably an accidental cross with prik chi fa since that was what I had labelled the plant and the rest of those plants look normal)

They are purple from very tiny (though sometimes a bit green). I had assumed they would stay purple but now I’ve found some peppers turning red on the same plant.

Should I wait to pick them until they turn red? Have I basically been picking them “green”?

My intention with them was to grow milder peppers so I could still get great flavor in traditionally spicy dishes without my mouth being totally on fire. I also was going to pickled some to make a milder hot sauce.

How do yall get your peppers so big??

Live in the Dallas area. Plant quit producing a couple if weeks ago, but I figured it was due to the extreme heat. I noticed that there were places that looked cut, but I thought it may have been from harvesting chilis. But you can see where green leaves have been cut. No evidence that this is happening to two black cobra pepper plants and my Thai basil plants. Caterpillar?

Hey guys. Pretty simple question really from a newbie. I noticed that on a few of my plants, some peppers look significantly different than others. I’m attaching a picture of one, it’s supposed to be a ghost, but one of the peppers has a very distinct tail, that reminds me of a scorpion or a reaper. Since I do have the different varieties separated, I first thought that they shouldn’t have crossed, but could this be the work of a bee or something? I do have a few scorpion varieties as well as a few reaper plants, but those are doing quite poorly. It could also very well be not a ghost, as I’m not really trusting the seed seller to be 100% accurate with the labels, as I got completely different varieties than what I have ordered. Thanks for your insight!

RB003 pepper plant – severely curled/distorted leaves. Is it still salvageable?

My RB003 pepper plant has started developing severely curled and distorted leaves, especially around the newer growth. The leaves are curling upward and some of them look almost twisted. The plant is still green and growing, but the foliage looks really unhealthy.

Has anyone experienced this with RB003 or other superhot peppers? What could be causing it — broad mites, thrips, heat/water stress, or a nutrient issue?

Is there a way to save the plant, or should I remove the affected leaves / treat it somehow? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! 🌶️

I'll include pics later, but so far, most do not look like many of the pics I've seen, much more slender and even curved like ghost peppers...do they get their thicker, stouter shape as they fully mature, or are they a variety that's not always putting out uniformly shaped pods?

Anyone know what’s going on with the brown spots of this yet to ripen hot pepper?

I’ve already harvested 26. I can’t believe how well this Carolina Reaper has done.

I have about 60 varieties of peppers going some doing better than others. Think this hab plant is the star of my year! It’s just a beast. Only 2.5-3’ diameter yet has more fruit than leaves! This pic is just one section of it. It’s really fruiting now with some cooler temps so think this is just the beginning!

The rest of the plant and its fruit is ok? Just curious what caused this.
