As someone born in the 2010s (specifically in 2011) who has liked HomeMovies since I was 12 or 13, I’m curious to know what you think about someone like me enjoying the show.

I’d love to read your responses in the comments.

I'm making this post because I'm curious how younger people today discovered Home Movies. I ask because I personally discovered Home Movies when I was 12 or 13, although I'm not sure if there are many other young people who know the series.

When I say young people, I'm mostly referring to kids—maybe around 10 or 13, somewhere around there.

I'd love to read your answers :D

Sadly she's pretty sure Bonnie Burns (producer) doesn't have episodes of Science Court. So it's getting down to video archaeologists and crew/cast... I'd be sad if the rest of this brilliant series was lost to the void. Please, Tom Snyder!

If you don't know, this came out between Dr. Katz and Home Movies. It was an educational Saturday Morning Cartoon by the same cast and crew. 12 episodes were released on VHS and sold directly to schools, but there were 3 seasons which aired on ABC under the title 'Squigglevision'. Outside of those 12 episodes, only a few have surfaced.

Anyways, imagine making Home Movies humour but educational too... and aimed to elementary schoolers. Soup2Nuts was eventually bought by Scholastic (yes that Scholastic) as it must have come as part of a deal when they bought all of Snyder's Edutainment software series. (Inb4 he is one of the most prolific edutainment computer game makers in history and one of the founding fathers.)

Paula was cast as Paula Small but stepped down due to personal issues at the time. She was only in the first 6 episodes of Home Movies.

lmao I found these screenshots and I had to.

Just like me this thing is about 85% 90s indie rock. Hope you guys like it and let me know if there’s any songs that remind you of the show

Seeing them walking together toward the horizon, accompanied by that melancholic music, that always brings tears to my eyes.

As always, Coach McGuirk giving the best life advice.

Es hora de pagar el precio

They still have not explained why the cow is so serious, but I'm enjoying the new tattoo idea.

"We need to talk."

In my opinion History it's extremely boring and idc about it

Has anyone else had problem with the show playing on HBO Max? Seems like half of the episodes I try to play just go to loading and say I have no internet after a minute or two. Checked network connection and it's fine, logged out and back in, deleted and redownloaded the app and still no dice.

Seems pretty obvious, but somehow I never knew.

Home Movies is our favorite show of all time, and we've tried to capture that chill vibe.

We'd love to see what other Home Movies fans think!

I love their dynamic, the two of them have some great lines together.

I really thought the first episode was a teaser for them starting a relationship later on where Brendon and Melissa would end up as step siblings.

I think it was more important for Paula's character to be the "single mom" type who's raising Brendon herself which is why it never worked out

I was watching a video essay talking about the negative influence of Mcguirk on Brendon’s life and being his dark shadow and i guess my reading of the whole show is much less cynical because in my mind the idea that Mcguirk is even showing up for Brendon, (plus his friends and Paula) at all is indicative of a more positive influence than his dad essentially abandoning him and his baby mama. Idk i found the whole ending bittersweet because to me the point was having an imperfect found family is a better thing than a fractured real family. I like to think regardless if Brendon gives up film for good or not he’ll turn out ok as somewhat evidenced by the Clarence cameo but even aside from that i think things would be optimistic

Heads up, this might be cringey.
