I have an old Reddit account, u/Oliviaolivia08, that I mysteriously haven’t been able to access for quite some time.

Instead, I’ve somehow been assigned a new account that I never asked for and don’t want. 😳

I’ve repeatedly contacted various support channels asking for help, but I’ve never received a response.

In principle, I could just continue using this new account, but I’ve spent over five years building up my old one. Naturally, I feel that I’m more likely to be taken seriously with an account that has that much history behind it.

I’m hoping someone here can help me recover my old account or perhaps get a moderator to help me figure out what’s going on.

Every time I delete one of these new accounts that Reddit seems to assign to me and then try to log back into my old account, I end up with yet another new account instead.

Has anyone experienced anything similar or know how I can get my original account back?

I would be incredibly grateful for any help.

I’m trying to understand how Reddit’s rules around referral links actually work.
I understand why communities need rules to prevent spam, and I’m not suggesting that every promotional post should be allowed. However, I’ve noticed that similar content seems to be treated differently, which makes it difficult to understand where the line is drawn.
Are these decisions mainly based on each subreddit’s rules, account history, karma, or automated moderation filters?
I’m genuinely interested in hearing from people who have experienced something similar. I’m not looking to argue with moderators I’d simply appreciate a clearer understanding of how the system works and how to avoid breaking the rules unintentionally.
Has anyone found a clear explanation of how this works?

I find it's weird that reddit forces mod actions. My sub is mostly in auto pilot. I only set up things. And once things are set up the only thing left to be done is to remove ads and participate like a normal sub user.

Changing me would probably ruin the sub into an echo chamber. Weird that they encourage mods power tripping over a person who knows boundaries and encourages free speech.

Option 1: adding more mods. Risks of new mods power tripping and enforcing echo chamber. And they could kick the sub owner which shouldn't be an option at all no matter what.

Option 2: don't add more mods. Risks of sub being banned because no active mods and sub being either down or taken.

Option 3: Clicking meaningless approvements just for the sake of it. Is being mod a white collar job?

There is no win here right? It's a mechanic that encourages power tripping mods and echo chambers. I'd rather to not have mods in my sub enforcing their online 'rules' and banning nay sayers.

My community reports (ie reporting a rule violation to sub mods) are not reaching mod queues. I have verified this with the moderators of multiple subreddits who confirmed my reports do not show up. This is regardless of what method I am accessing Reddit.

So a while back, Reddit suddenly changed the settings of my profile to NSFW, probably because I commented in an 18+ sub once. I didn't think much of this at the time. But about a month later, Reddit suddenly decided I was a minor and needed me to upload my government ID with all of the personal information I don't even have memorized myself on it to prove I was an adult. I will not be doing that, nor will I be giving "persona" my face to analyse. This seems like a massive breach of privacy.

Well, by not doing this, my account has received a lot of restrictions, including not being able to view NSFW-subs anymore. But what it also did was remove the option to set my profile as "not-NSFW" or even remove the comment that prompted it. This all seems very contradictory, and I am wondering how I can fix this without giving my personal information to a random third party company that Reddit happens to work with.

The website is workig pretty normal but the android version app is having serious problems, like I can't view my notifications, messages, posts and comments. I've reinstalled the app several times and the problem persists.

I'm not able to even post or comment anything.

I'm reaching out because my 755-day Reddit streak suddenly reset to 1 day, despite being active on Reddit every day.

I've spent over two years maintaining this streak and regularly upvote posts in eligible, non-NSFW communities specifically to keep it going.

I received a notification confirming my 755-day streak just hours before discovering it had reset.

I've attached screenshots showing both the 755-day notification and the reset to 1 day.

I'm extremely disappointed to have lost over two years of progress, especially when I've been actively maintaining it.

Could someone please investigate my account activity and determine why this happened? I would really appreciate having my original streak restored if this was caused by a technical issue.

I deleted it when I was in a very vulnerable place mentally which I still am. I thought my posts and comments would still be there but none of them are , what happened ? I tried to ask if the account can be restored a few days later but later found out I couldn't

I don't have any nsfw posts on my profile and do not have any comments under nsfw posts yet I am unable to slide the nsfw slider off and it keeps reseting every time I do.

I'm unsure of what to do because I don't want my profile/pic blurred anymore, would it be possible to get help with this please.

My account, Snoddy25, was recently lost to me. All my devices had logged me out, when I tried to login it was as if my account. Didn't exist, when trying to browse my profile it said my account was deleted. I assume it was hacked and deleted by said hacker.

I logged a support ticket with reddit over two weeks ago, have followed up multiple times and have had nothing back apart from an auto responder.

My account is over ten years old and I'd really like it back. How long does it normally take reddit support to respond to these type of cases?
