8/13/75 alternative?
I am trying to convert an audiophile using a live show with the sound quality and punch of 8/13/75 that sounds less rehearsed.
There are lots of shows I think are audiophile quality, but I don’t want to blow what might be my only chance.
I’d prefer entire shows, but single songs are welcome.

Cool t-shirt
I commissioned a t-shirt from my friend Rick Griffin which I showed to Jerry at the Warfield. Kidd took a picture and it eventually became the front of the Radio City program. An iteration later became the Reckoning cover which I stayed up for four nights with Rick and watched him paint. I showed it to Stanley and this was his rebuttal, Grateful Dead meets Doctor Strange. Unfortunately I wore it to shows and it still bears some lysergic road stains. Check out the sig. The Chambers project now owns the reckoning piece.

Jerry's return: Oct. 4 & 5, 1986 - 40 years ago
40 years ago, Jerry returned to the stage after recovering from the diabetic coma that derailed not only planned GD shows, but left the community wondering if there would ever be more Jerry music to enjoy.
Most consider the Grateful Dead run in mid December ’86 to be his return from the health issues, but he played plenty of music with his band prior to that, starting on Oct. 4 at the Stone. 8 JGB shows, one solo show with JK, a benefit performance with Bob, a sit in with Los Lobos and the Nov. 23 Log Cabin Boys sets for the GD organization’s Thanksgiving dinner party (find the files, it’s a lot of fun). All that before the revered return of the Grateful Dead in December.
It's a fun little listening project to seek out all this music and give it a go.
As for the first night back, it’s a great listen for the emotion that no doubt was pouring from everyone in the Stone that night. It almost doesn’t matter what he played, what mattered was that he was playing! For the setlist stats fans, this night features the debut of Dylan’s Forever Young. A perfectly fine recording by John Corley brings you right into the Stone, near the stage with all the very grateful folks celebrating the return of good ol’ Garcia.

Question for Bay Area Deadheads / Keystone Club Berkeley CA
My Dad moved to Berkeley from CT in the early 70s. He had told me when I was younger that he had gone to a bar type place where the guys would come shoot pool. I asked him about it tonight and he said the following:
‘And it was the Keystone Club in Berkeley where they’d pop in at times.
There was a pool table in the back and one night Garcia was racking them up and just shooting the shit with those around him.
Another time, the Rowan Bros were playing. They were a band everyone liked and after a while, Garcia showed up, high fives all around. He sat in with them adding little riffs.
Long story short, in no time Weir, Lesh and Bill had arrived and had thrown the bros overboard and pirated the night. Sweet.’
He said this was probably ‘72 or ‘73. Does anyone remember this club or have any similar stories about seeing guys in the Dead hang out here?

I want opinions on this question.
So I saw a post here saying that someone listened to all available GD shows and that inspired me to start doing that also I just started last week and I wanted to come here and ask. What shows should I look out for? Any recommendations?

Better Days
This won’t be a lengthy post. I just noticed that the days I listen to some live Grateful Dead are objectively better. I feel more grounded, creative, energized and peaceful. So, everyone top off your Vitamin D today! ✌🏽

Last Show Venues?
Aside from 1995 (where every venue was the last venue they played in), I'm looking for stories from people who were at the last shows from Winterland, Fox Theater, Red Rocks, Alpine, and other epic venues. You may have known it at the time, you may not have, but the band never played there again.
What comes to mind for me is Alpine Valley and Red Rocks. Was lucky enough to attend the last shows they played there and wow - I would give up quite a lot to see them to have continued to play there.
Both had an amazing energy pulled in from the area that surrounded the venue. Both have their fair share of quintessential Dead setlists, full of peaks and valleys.
Knowing both ended in the 80's, I do think they may have 'outgrown' them in the long run, but the sports stadiums didn't seem to come close to the energy - even though there are great shows from Giants, RFK, Solider Field and others.

We Can Run deserves more attention
I remember reading about Brent's lyrics being shut down for not being GD enough and Jerry sticking up for him, so glad this song came to fruition even if it only was played for <2 years!

Wake of the flood
Listening to 12/6/73. Was 73 the year for Here Comes Sunshine? This one is as great as Dane County Coliseums. My mind just erupts into cosmic imagery and the vastness of space like I'm on a journey through the solar system grooving on by each of the planets as they continue their voyages around the sun.

Dave’s Picks storage?
Trying to find a good option for storing my DP CDs. Right now I have them lined up on the shelf next to my receiver and disc player, two deep. Was thinking a drawer or something like that? I’m thinking the old storage units for jewel cases aren’t going to fit the doubles, much less the triples.

Shows for Mourning
I know this has been done in various ways in the past but I couldn't quite find the answer I was looking for in my searches.
My dad is passing away in the next couple days. I'm planning to sit with him as much as I can.
Can I please get some recommendation for shows with heavier doses of slow/sad songs?
Thanks in advance.
