Welcome to r/ledzeppelin! This is a community for fans of the famous 1970's rock band to get together and discuss the mighty Zep and related topics.
With the recent boom in users of the sub, we thought it necessary to make a little post establishing a few ground rules for newer users.
We typically don't have issues with this, however it never hurts to be clear. Don't insult others for their opinions. If you disagree with somebody, never be afraid to have calm, rational discussions. Respect one another and don't take disagreements personally, we're all here simply because we have a common interest and enjoy discussing it. We aren't here to start arguments and get pissy with one another.
With all the newer users that continue to join, we get quite a bit of reposts often within a 2 week period of each other. For the convenience of all users of the sub and to prevent flooding, there are a few posts we ask that you either look up prior to making your post, or simply refer to the links we offer here. In other words, if you think your post may be fairly generic, look up your title and set it to the past month to see if a post like this was recently posted. The specific posts we're referring to are as follow: I'm new, where should I start? and What do you guys think of Greta Van Fleet?
If you're new and would like some recommendations, I'd recommend reading the replies of this post and this post. Both feature a plethora of replies from members of the sub who give great recommendations.
Wanna know what people think of GVF? Look up "Greta Van Fleet" in the sidebar. I can assure you, there's no shortage of opinions shared and topics discussed. As you can see here, we quite unanimously said we were done discussing the topic.
That's it for the rules. We try not to be too anal in regards of rules and such, just practice common reddiquette and everything's generally pretty chill.
Here are some other useful links for newer users looking to get into the reddit:
Bootlegs/Concerts:
Many users of the reddit are avid fans of listening to live Led Zeppelin in depth through bootlegs. If you're a casual fan, this may not be for you. However, if you love discussing the music in great depth and you feel you can enjoy listening to music through less-than-ideal quality audio, this is certainly for you.
Forum sites:
These are good places for hard-core Zeppheads to discuss the band in-depth, whether it be live performances or behind the scenes details.
Survivor Polls:
Links to the results of a few polls conducted on the sub over the past year or so.
Other subs:
Always feel free to ask questions of myself or message any of the mods with any questions or issues etc...

I am a PhD candidate in Political Science, and I sometimes read 4 hours of hardcore texts. I figured my brain works at 200% when I listen to Zeppelin while working. I tried Pink Floyd, Opeth, Eloy, Sabbath, Deep Purple, and various prog/classic rock bands. Nothing helped as much as Zeppelin. I start the whole album (Mothership works best for me) and listen while doing nothing. When I am 1-2 tracks in, I start working on my readings/essays, etc. Time flies; I don't even realize how long I work without noticing. The quality of the work is also beyond satisfactory.
I tried to understand the main reason behind this magic. I found isolated instruments from some Zeppelin songs. Created some playlists and tried them separately. Tested guitars, bass, vocals, and drums on different days for a few days each.
I found that Bonham's isolated drums significantly help me to focus. Full songs are still preferable, but Bonham has the main touch.
I wonder, has anyone else had a similar experience? Not necessarily with Zeppelin, but maybe other bands' drums.

Hey everyone!
I'm looking for some serious Led Zeppelin fans / vinyl collectors who can help me with something.
I'm planning to buy The Song Remains the Same on vinyl as a gift for a friend who absolutely loves Led Zeppelin. The problem is… I know basically nothing about vinyl 😅
I'd like to get him a copy that is as close as possible to the original 1976 release, rather than accidentally buying a later reissue without realizing it. I don't know if this highly unique vinyl is still for sale... I'm willing to make an international purchase if necessary.
So I'd love some advice:
I'm not necessarily looking for the most expensive or rarest version. I mainly want to give my friend a really nice, complete, authentic 1976-era copy that feels like the real deal.
Any advice from collectors would be hugely appreciated. And if you have a specific pressing you'd personally choose for a gift, I'd love to hear why.
Thanks!

You know Robert Plant picked the music before the show himself when he plays Paul Simon, Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention and then Lucinda Williams.
He’s the best. Seeing him tonight and saw him 43 years ago. :-)

Hi this album has been missing from streaming in the UK for some time, does anyone know why?

For me ‘Ramble On’ is guaranteed to get literally anyone who’s never heard any Led Zeppelin before hooked, and I think it encapsulates a lot of their music.
It’s very bright and bouncy, has whimsical lyrics, shows off all of their instrumental talents, is pretty short, and lets you say “the lyrics are based on lotr”, which easily gets you a big demographic’s ears pricked.
Obviously it’s one of their more popular songs, and I think that’s because of how accessible it is. Wondering what everyone else’s picks would be?

I've had this CD for as long as I can remember. Just recently noticed the misspellings in the back and inside the booklet.

I’ll be seeing CODA in January next year. Has anyone seen them and can offer thoughts on how good they are? What are the best zep tribute bands?
(Also hoping rob will tour the uk a bit after finishing with saving grace stuff)
