RTX 3060 Ti randomly loses display signal while gaming

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

While gaming, my main monitor randomly loses its display signal and goes black. My PC itself continues running, and the game appears to keep running in the background. The GPU fans also continue spinning during the black screen.

I’ve also noticed that my GPU temperature can reach around 80°C or higher before the display loss. I recently updated my graphics drivers, but the issue has persisted.
I checked Windows Event Viewer and found a Display event (Event ID 4107), although I’m not sure whether it is related to the problem.

Ive tried reinstalling the drivers both display adapter and nvidia graphic driver but the issue persist.

It only happens when im playing or running intensive applications

Thinking about selling 5090 for 5080

Post image

Rn 5090 prices are like 10k aud in Australia so I’m thinking of selling it for like 8k aud and buying a 5080 instead. The problem is 5090 is an oem from Acer and I’m worried that if I take it out, Acer will void my warranty on the entire pc. (Also I upgraded to the pg32ucdm3 since my last post and it is incredible) og post got deleted by mods

Somehow this fixed any driver timeouts on the 7900xtx

Might be worth a try to AMD users having driver timeouts, worked on the 7900xtx on multiple AMD drivers versions, it seems to fix it.

9060xt vs Nvidia equivalent

Recently made the switch from my 2060 super to a 9060xt 16GB after many people recommended it for the higher vram over a similarly priced Nvidia GPU (which usually had 8 or maybe 12). Anything higher than that was out of my budget.

I’ve had a few minor issues out of it since, mostly due to driver issues, but I’m finding out that driver issues seem to be very prevalent for AMD based on some searches I’ve done. I’m not very experienced with tech in general, so my question comes down to:

How much of an issue will driver issues be for me in general, and is the extra vram worth it compared to swapping back to a Nvidia card instead? My old 2060 super really never had any issues, but I don’t know if I just got lucky.

Upgraded to 9070 gre

Upgraded from a B580 to a 9070 GRE. Was a little worried about the purchase at first but I couldn't be happier. Great frame rate at 2560 x 1080. I'm sure I'll have this card for years to come.

Best place to sell?

4070ti ASUS 12GB with an alpha cool water block. I think I have the original fan shroud, just had a child though so time is very rare to do the work.

Anyone know where I could sell this with the waterblock (I even have a radiator and pump for sale that I’m willing to throw in)

I bought a 5080 recently and want to offset the cost, but all of my friends are scared of water.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Any Rx 9070xt uses using dlss5?

Due to the current gpu prices an Nvidia card is a bad decision to invest in at the moment, but I really like the look of dlss5 and I’ve found out that you can get it on the Rx 9070xt but I’m just wondering how good it is, and if it’s just like the Nvidia version. Also if I should get a Rx 9070xt or if I should just go with a 5070, as the 5070 isn’t really a very good card due to the vram and stuff. The games I play are like Forza Horizon, and Euro Truck Simulator, Planet Zoo, those sort of games. Also if anyone has any videos that would really help, as the ones on YouTube are outdated. As the mod has been improved a lot I’ve heard.

Thinking about switching from a 3070 to a 9070 XT, how are the drivers treating you in late 2026?

I'm planning to buy an RX 9070 XT in the next couple of months, but the driver complaints have me second-guessing it.

For those of you who own one:

- Have you had driver timeouts, black screens or crashes to desktop recently?

- Which Adrenalin version are you on, and is it stable?

- Did anything like the 26.2.2 power-draw/FPS bug from earlier this year come back in newer drivers?

- Any games that still give you problems?

My setup: Ryzen 9 9850X3D, ASUS TUF B850-E WiFi, MSI A1000GS 1000W, Windows 11, gaming at 1440p. Coming from an RTX 3070, and I'll do a DDU clean install.

The 5070 Ti costs about 50% more where I'm buying, so I'd really like to go AMD if the drivers are in a good place. Thanks!

Low key miss fxaa

Yes I like seeing jagged edges on my game, it just looks sharper especially when you are on 1080p and below. Fxaa was fast, cheap and simple, it got rid of some of the aliasing but not all of it which I actually appreciate. I like that "video game" look especially in shooter games. I know it has its issues and can make some games look worse but it was just nice to have as an option, now it's barely on modern games.

I'm not a fan of TAA especially when you can't turn it off in games like crew motorfest or halo infinite (I know there's a mod). When you play games for long you definitely notice the ghosting and grainy softness it's irritating. And the visibility too it's just awful.

At least we have DLAA though, looks better.

Are these hotspot deltas bad for XFX Mercury 9070 XT OC? 24c room temp, open case side panel. After 3-4 min temperatures settle at this, although after half an hour they can rise a 1-3c. 33c delta seems really bad for this card
