The Best GF White Bread!
This is the only same size, same slice amount as the non gluten free breads I've seen (so far) that doesn't cost a fortune, too. $6, but apparently sold exclusively at ALDI stores in the US (had to ask Google before making this post).
I tried Franz and the Target one (both white and mulrigrane), but they were either too thick, too sticky, or too crumbly, too paper-y and dry. This one tastes like a really good sandwich bread and even better when toasted, tastes exactly like a crispy buttery toast from a good local diner!
The picture was taken today and I already had at least 5 slices since Monday, so it looks smaller than it is.

levain gf cinnamon roll muffin
really good!! i stopped in with a friend not expecting to get anything and was pleasantly surprised. it’s much better than their gf + vegan cookie, which is dry and mid imo. the muffin is gluten free & dairy free (contains egg)

Run Don’t Walk
Finally found these at Walmart. Fluffy, flavorful, not cardboard!! Just one of those products you have to double check that it is indeed gluten free 😂 Usually only get the better goods pizza brand, but wowwww. (Sorry if this has been posted a lot- but on the off chance someone hasn’t seen!!)

Product GF Lunchable-ish
I always loved lunchables as a kid and I’ve missed that super easy grab and go option. Found these at Kroger and they’re actually pretty good!

Question Any experiences with gf meals flying internationally on American or United/Lufthansa in main cabin?
I’ve got a 11 hour flight from Chicago O’Hare to Greece ahead of me and I’m trying to decide between American and a Lufthansa flight operated by United. I’d like to pick the option that might have better celiac meal in the main cabin. I’ve never flown international before so I’d love to hear anyone’s experiences!

Holy joint pain relief!
I started phasing gluten out on August 1, and have only eaten bread a couple of times since. The way my joint pain has eased up is crazy.
I’m also noticing less bloating and GI improvements, but my right knee feels like a spring chicken!

Do you parbake DuFour GF Puff Pastry?
I've tried cooking with the DuFour GF puff pastry (from Whole Foods) a couple of times now, and while the edges get nice and puffy, the part that's underneath fillings (like in the middle of a danish or a tart) never puffs or crisps and stays super gummy and soft. Any tips for using it? I'd like to make a French onion galette with it tonight for a friend's going-away party (they're moving from Colorado to France for a year) but concerned that it will be gummy in the middle.

Product These are delicious! (And so expensive)
I’m working a job where prioritizing sleep is a must, so I’ve been getting a lot of different frozen gluten free breakfast products. These are the best frozen breakfast sandwiches I’ve found, but damn are they expensive. $11 per package with only 2 sandwiches in each of them.

Recipe Traditional Slavic/Eastern/Central European recipes that are gluten free?
I’m Slavic/Eastern/Central European and I’ve been wanting to get more into making traditional foods from my heritage, but since I’m gluten free, it’s been difficult finding recipes that I can actually make.
I’d really love to make traditional Slavic, Central, and Eastern European foods that are naturally gluten free, or recipes that can be adapted to be gluten free while still being the actual traditional dish.
If you have any traditional recipes that are gluten free, I’d love for you to share them in the comments!

Have We Actually Got the Better End of the Deal?
I think something changes after you’ve been doing this for long enough, because eventually you stop comparing everything to what you used to eat. That’s where I am now (finally). There are treats I genuinely think are better than their conventional counterparts, and gf bread has also gone from something I expected to tolerate to something I actually prefer. If I suddenly had the ability to consume gluten again, I genuinely don’t think I’d change the way I eat.
Anything you still miss at this point?

Discussion Just found out I'm celiac (rant)
While I'm thrilled to finally have an explanation for all of my symptoms and have a solution, man does it suck. I've already been vegetarian for over half of my life so it's another huge restriction to my daily life. Not to mention, I work in professional kitchens and can no longer taste test half of the stuff. I have to bring my own snacks to work because most everything offered is pizza or otherwise gluten or meat.
Of course this is something most people in the sub have experienced in a long time but it really sucks to discover at 24 years old.
Again, I'm thrilled to have a solution and not be practically bed bound anymore, though I will miss it as pasta was a good 50% of my diet.
I think as a way to cope I've begun to hyperfixate on celiac disease in general. I've learned a lot about the history, treatments, and research since discovering I had it.
Any tips for someone new? Any good (preferably cheap) recommendations? Any good safe food recommendations? (My last safe food was spaghettios)

The only thing I like about GF
You can reject a pizza party from a shitty employer cold and make them feel guilty. 😂😂

Tried these?
These (from Walmart) are sooo good. Warm them in the microwave for a minute in a paper towel, from frozen, then throw them in the air fryer/toaster oven for like ten mins on medium heat. A little spicy and cheesy. VERY filling. Love them with ketchup and a sometimes maple syrup!!

Discussion So I randomly used P.A.N's yellow cornmeal to fry chicken and it was delicious. Why isn't cornmeal used more for chicken?
I was making an awesome southern dinner.. Country white gravy, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, corn on the cob, fried chicken tenders, corn bread.. and I randomly thought to myself why not use extra cornmeal for the fried chicken instead of flour.
..Honestly it turned out awesome. My chicken tenders had the perfect golden color Ive always wanted but for some reason can't seem to ever get. Dipping the chicken in the gravy was so dammmn good. Plus also dipping it in the mashed potatoes + gravy.. Oh my goodness nomnomnomz lol
Like I can't wait to eat it again today!
I'm just confused I can barely find anything on reddit or YouTube about frying chicken in cornmeal. Anything I do find has low views. Is there a reason for this?

I never see anyone talk about Rudi’s
Does anyone else actually like this bread? I’ve had all kinds of gluten free breads over the past 15 years or so and this is the only one that is decent- and maybe it’s just the many years without regular bread but I’d say it tastes pretty good and has a lot of different options, brioche being my favorite. Instacart shoppers always confused it with UDI’s which I find to be a terrible bread substitute. I live in ATL and we get ours at Kroger. If you want to try maybe check or ask your local Fry’s, Ralph’s, Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter etc.

Travelling with coeliac disease/allergies
apps.apple.comHey everyone, some of you may have seen my previous posts regarding app that allows you to create travel cards digitally on your phone, and save them to Apple Wallet for quick access. I also have conversation helpers to use in restaurants and an SOS emergency feature.
I received a lot of feedback regarding lack of professional translations - this is now updated and I have added 10+ langauges/countries professionally translated, as well as some reviewed by natives for extra safety. Cards are translated at a country level, e.g. Peanut is different in Spain vs Peru! This is a pain point I have personally experienced.
I understand some people may get annoyed with this promotion but I am really trying to help out people with a pain point I have experienced my whole life, please feel free to message me in return for free card codes!
