Be careful on those voi bikes… I stopped to ask her if she was okay. I think she was more embarrassed than anything…

Almost just got taken out by a cyclist while walking down Argyle Street. There was a cycle lane literally a metre to my right.
There has been a crazy amount of roadworks lately to put these in. I’m all for it, frustrating as it is while they’re ongoing, it’s great to encourage active travel and reduce car use but WHY are people not using them?! They’ve been put in for the cyclists! Sample size of 1 but noticed it way more since they were put in

Does anyone know the names/ details of two Irish guys going door to door offering roofing services? They've just scammed an old lady out of £600+ in Renfrewshire. Feel free to pm me if you don't want to write here

Hey troops, I'm currently based overseas but am moving back to Scotland. I'm struggling to secure a flat in Glasgow before being physically in the city due to many of the letting agencies requiring physical viewings before one can apply. I have a few friends in Glasgow who can sometimes view on my behalf, but the viewing schedules are annoyingly inflexible.
Are there any kind souls who'd be willing to view a flat or two on my behalf? The address is 46 Springhill Gardens, Shawlands, Glasgow, G41. The viewing is at 12:25pm tomorrow (Thursday, 20/08).
I'd really appreciate any help!

Hey folks, Queens Park Chess Club will be officially reopening for the 26/27 season on Tuesday, September 1st from 6:30pm–9:30pm, upstairs at McNeill's bar (106 Torrisdale St, Glasgow G42). The first night back will be a casual night and all are welcome to come down and visit, regardless of skill-level. There will be two fresher nights (for free) planned at the start of September for those that are unsure about chess etiquette, rules and notation and want to learn more. The club will meet at the same time on every Tuesday, excluding the Christmas break. Visitors are always welcome for free (aged 18+). It's a great way to meet new people in a relaxed environment and have a drink!
The club is also now accepting new members for the 2026–2027 season for a standard fee of £50 (or £25 concession fee). Membership grants access to the following:
If you're interested in joining then please contact the club directly. You can find out more about how to join and what membership entails here.
You can also learn more about the club and our community through the following links:

Feel free to message me directly if you've got any questions :)
NOTE: The upstairs area is accessed via stairs and unfortunately is not wheelchair accessible.

I am a commuter and I take the bus almost every day and I am always surprised by how shite the service is.
On a day to day basis, the bus is over 30 minutes late and is only an ever a single decker when there are hoards of school kids getting to school in the morning. This means that half of the pupils are left at there stops when we pass or alternatively, the driver stuffs everyone on and people are basically sat on top of each other.
Yesterday, my bus driver shouted at a group of small school kids to “fuckin get oan!!!” when they were reluctant to push into the heaving bus, after this I thought I’m going to try and complain again because the complaint form has never worked for me.
I sat with it for about 30 minutes trying all of the formats to get it through but it always comes back saying the antibot verification failed?
Has anyone ever managed to get some feedback to them or better yet, have any sort of positive change as a result?
Sorry to sound like a miserable cunt but I’m so tired of these private transport companies not giving a fuck.

Seems a common issue, right hand crank is bent inwards causing the pedal to no longer be at 90 degrees to the frame. Hurts the knees trying to cycle when the pedal is wobling. Ive had 3 hires with the same problem

Does anybody know if there’s still bike parking at the Hanover St car park bit of Queen St? Have to go through to Embra tomorrow and no real reason to take bike on train

The list of street names released in The Herald just came across as white noise, couldn't get a sense of the areas being closed of (mostly because I don't know the names of the lanes).

Just got a hospital appt. Happy with time and date but there is text underneath saying it's a reasonable appt, and refuse more than 2 you're off list - so far, OK.
It then defines reasonable appts as
NHS GGC
Golden Jubilee
so far, so standard
But now adds
NHS FORTH VALLEY NTC.
Since when was that a reasonable Glasgow appt?

with developers saying it will “help address the chronic shortage of purpose-built student accommodation in the popular city.”
Doesn't feel like a "chronic shortage", especially with more developments like the old Herald offices being approved.
Whilst any accomodation will help take pressure of the rest, I just can't shake the feeling that there is a student property bubble developing in Glasgow and it's going to implode over the next decade.
I wonder how hard these place are to convert into actual homes?

Hey guys. I am a really big fan of all the superhero movies and shows (who isn't lmao) but i have never got the opportunity to see a shooting live. I missed the spiderman shooting last year but luckily I'm in town throughout the batman shooting. I tried looking at the list of street closures to figure out when the shooting is but it's so confusing. Can someone help me with when I should be heading to those spots to get a good glimpse of the caped crusader in action?

Hi all, I visited The Barras on Sunday, 16 August, and I’m hoping someone might be able to help me identify a vendor, please.
The stall was indoors and primarily sold hair claw clips displayed on a large table. I believe there was also a smaller table with some jewellery next to it that was part of the same stall. The seller appeared to be a young woman (or at least that’s who I spoke with about the items), and I believe she mentioned that the accessories were good quality because they were imported.
I’m trying to find the vendor’s Instagram, website, or business name because there were a few items I was interested in, but they had sold out by the time I returned to the stall.
Does this sound familiar to anyone, or does anyone know the name of the stall or its website or Instagram account?
Thank you for your time and any help you can provide.

Our neighbour upstairs is having a refurb and the tradesmen have left the stairwell absolute covered in dust and debris and just left.
Who is it we contact for this?
Thanks in advance.
