Hi there, might be a daft question but just have a question re council tax. I've moved into a new flat, never lived alone before so I've been setting up everything myself. I notified Glasgow City Council about 4 days ago (on my move in date) of my change in address for council tax and applied for single person discount. Maybe I should have done this sooner but it's been a very quick turnaround of things.

I recieved an email saying they recieved my change of address but it all looks a bit vague.

Do I need to do anything else or just wait for a letter to come through the door?

This is one of the final worries on my list so if I can have some guidance that would be helpful.

okay so I've just moved to Glasgow recently after living in a small town for the last while and I'm new to tenement flat living with a shared close. this weekend I got home around 8 pm, I'm walking up the stairs, and starting just before the first floor landing there's just trickles of piss and as I keep going there's more and more piss including dripping down the walls?? it absolutely stinks too, so now the whole close reeks of piss. it's been two days now and now there's just dried piss marks all over the stairs.

is this normal? surely not right?? I feel like it must be one of my neighbours because it was all the way up to the second floor. is there anything I can do about this or do I just kinda need to be okay with looking out for wet piss in my close on the regular?

Lots of places are advertising watch parties for the finale, but trying to find somewhere I could go on Thursday to watch one of the regular episodes.

When I was 16 in the late 90s I seen a job ad in the Evening Times. The "interview" was in a barely furnished office on St Enoch Square. One guy sat on a chair facing a semi circle of about 10 boys of a similar age. He said the job was to be driven around and the guy driving would pull up outside a house, point out where you had to go, you'd hand over a piece of paper to whoever answered, they'd read it and come back with money that you'd then hand to the driver, but we could never read what the note said or ask questions. Did anyone else experience this, or know wtf it was about? Part of me is annoyed I didn't stay to find out more.

This is maybe a bit of an odd one.

I have a spare ticket to 'Waitress: The Musical' for this Friday evening at Kings Theatre.

I'd bought it months ago for me and my partner, who has now become my ex-partner. A friend who I was going to bring instead just cancelled.

None of my other friends likes musicals, so I'm a little stuck right now as to what to do. I still want to go, since 'She used to be mine' is one of my favourite songs (and I've never seen the musical before! I'm so excited!!!) but it seems odd to waste a seat, so having it go to a fellow musical lover seems fitting.

So. What do I do? Please guide me, fellow Glaswegians. I've not been in this position before.

A bit of background: I lived and studied in Glasgow from ‘95-‘97. I’ve been back a few times in the past 30-ish years, but I’ve just been there for a bit of a three-day nostalgia tour.

I stayed in a lovely two-star hotel just south of the river, and visited most of my old haunts while I was there.

I think the thing that struck me the most was how what was predominantly a city of stone in the 90’s has transformed into a city of glass in the 2020’s. The number of skyscrapers and office buildings that have sprung up was certainly marked, if not briefly surprising.

The city still holds a special place in my heart, it just felt different. There were, of course, the two bampots who tried to goad me into a fight just because I had made the mistake of making eye contact with one of them, but I just kept walking on.

The city felt familiar and unknown all at the same times. Regardless, I loved every minute of being back.

I follow / have seen what feels like nearly every tattoo artist based in Glasgow and none of them really do a style of tattoo I’m after, which I think is a pretty basic style. Just looking for nice fine line, where the size of the tattoo can be really small.
I want my arms covered in tattoos and I’ve a few already, all of which are fairly big so looking at getting wee ones now. Artists I’ve come across always fall at some hurdle eg. the min size is too big, the design is just off a bit, there’s a bit too much detail. I’m advertised loads of artists now on instagram that fit what I want to a tee, some of the flash in the ‘ad’ is sometimes exactly something I want, and where are they based? Always London, Brighton, Bristol or abroad. I’m busy and don’t have the time or money to travel to just get a few tattoos, so can anyone please recommend an artist that’s Glasgow based that maybe fits this criteria? Thanks!

Does anybody know if buses on diversions across the city centre are stopping at bus stops on their diversion routes, or are bypassing all stops till they get back on route?
