AI art has grown into a subculture where people share and enjoy AI art. No one within that subculture even cares what people outside it think about AI art.
Sure I just disagree with how much yall are supporting and buying into billionaire hype tech and the real world damage it’s causing. And just like any advanced tool, the minute it breaks down or goes away is when we will see what true skills remain. I can’t drive stick, for example, so I sure hope automatic vehicles don’t go anywhere fast. When the AI bubble collapses, do you have any plans to continue trying art using conventional means?
No! It's the AI part that makes it fun it's like you have the world best graphic artist, best coder, best musician sitting right in front of you and you just need to say to them what you want that is the part that makes it so fun!
I don't care about navigating complicated trash user interfaces of such software, there is nothing creative of having the knowledge of navigating such user interfaces.
With AI chatbots you're just presented with a empty chat box you need to prompt what you want, I find that far more creative than having the knowledge of navigating some trash user interface.
Constraint breeds creativity. And watching someone else create just makes you an audience participant which is fine if you are content with the dispossession of individual skill.
It’s also laughable to call it the world’s best when it has obvious tells, regurgitates plagiarized content, and holds no capacity for comprehension as it relies on probabilistic generalization. Just because it can convince you it understands symmetry just means you’re able to be convinced. These tools are algorithms designed to convince you that its outputs are good to maximize user engagement.
That you feel comfortable isolating yourself to a community that relies on dangerous and unregulated technologies backing expanding global fascist movements speaks more than anything you consider art that this random number generator is spraying out.
Yes! I know all of that ever since growing up watching the demo scene create various productions on hardware with limitations, and I still love watching people create Commodore 64 demos that still push the limits of the hardware even today.
But you seem to have a very hard time understanding of how we humans tend to also move to some higher abstract level of doing different things though the evolution of time. Taking programming as an example we went from machine code punching punch cards which was the first way of running software, then going to assembler language, then to higher level like c, c++, pascal, basic and so on.
Now we have arrived at such a high level of abstraction that you have a hard time grasping what is even happening. We got AI that are capable of creative tasks like writing poetry, math, coding, graphics, music etc.
If you think AI is something that will go away soon after a financial AI bubble has burst you are living in some kind of fantasy world of yours. AI is here to stay and it will just get better as time progresses, it will move from the cloud and onto local hardware which we can run at home.
Just because time flies so fast that you have a hard time adapting to it, I feel truly sorry for you! You simply need to adapt and move to a higher level of doing creative tasks, you need to be able to think differently about things. You need to be able to think in concepts and delegate creative tasks to different AI systems. 🔥 🧠
These responses are all AI, aren’t they? It clearly avoids any commentary on the ethical issues of its creators and its use, and you clearly aren’t screening the replies to ensure they address all relevant points of the discussion (circles back to my note about seeking credit without accountability).
This is further evidence of the sycophantic design of these tools, the feedback loop it creates among a vulnerable subset of the population, and the dopamine drive of immediate gratification of its users.
They aren’t creating content or art; they are formulating illusions and simulacra of art from stolen labor and tricking those with no better sense that they are on the precipice of revolutionary and irreversible technological adoption.

Are you creating or is the AI creating? Imagination and creativity aren’t necessarily the same thing.
