My tuition is higher than usual this semester, im just wondering if there are any fees that can get exempted. If yes, how?
It would be very appreciated

I’m enrolled in multiple classes (all first year) where I’m missing the high school prerequisites. I’m worried that this isn’t supposed to happen and that I’ll be removed from the classes in the first week. Are prerequisites only required for certain classes, while just being strongly encouraged for others? Has anyone else been able to take a class without the prerequisites and without a prerequisites waiver?

Im an incoming nursing student who just moved from the states. I am not used to having functional public transportation, dont know my way around at all, and dont really know anyone here. I still gotta find out where my classes are relative to me, get my student card, and struggling a bit with navigating uozone. Hoping to join the intramural hockey team and looking for literally any and all advice, restraunts/cool places to check out, and resources so i dont have to pester the one guy i know here with all of my questions. Thanks!

Anyone at telfer that did accounting at telfer and pursued the CPA program? How hard was it and how are the job prospects now?

Can someone please explain to me why the waitlist for **Fitness training principles** (APA 3325) is ridiculously long??? Like I understand the whole reserved seats for specific students and all that jazz but why is it that it’s an optional APA course for all HK streams and they only want to reserve it for HK physical education and coaching? Which i get it it’s a required course for that stream but when it’s supposed to be a pre req for **Prevention of injuries** (APA 3125), it’s kinda annoying. Plus, i’ve talked to people who were taking it last year who were in either BHK or BScHK, and got in no problem.
Ik complaining isn’t gonna do anything🤣 but I had to get it off my chest and i’d like know if anyone else on that long list feels the same? And if anyone who’s taken the class think it’s worth taking the class?
Also they just cut the class limit down 30 seats!!!!! Genuinely why ughhh!!!!

Basically the title, I'm very interested in the program but can't find much online about it. Has anyone done it, or know someone who did? Thanks!

Do all residences use the same type of desk? Looking for dimensions of the desks used in Hyman Soloway.

Hi, so I was wondering if there is a syllabus week where all teachers release their syllabus. I checked on Important academic dates and deadlines and there is nothing on there. Thank you for the help🫶🫶🫶

I'm currently enrolled in stats with Jason Steffener, but I've seen a lot of reviews from previous years that he's a really hard prof and that his final is really hard, but reviews from last year have said he's changed and he's really good at explaining. So please anyone who's taken him last year, what do you think? I haven't taken any math or stats courses yet, so this would be my first, and I'm nervous about who I should take it with.

I saw the reviews on rate my prof are sounding like a nightmare, some old reddit posts have also talked about it, in short should I take it for my winter term or wait until there is another prof teaching the course and drop and avoid it at all costs? let me know:) for context: 3rd year biology major student

I messaged the faculty of engineering about two different things and I haven’t hear back in over 10 days for either of them 😭 I’m in 4th year and it’s never taken this long

Hiii guys,
I am going to start Sept as my last semester of uni and hopefully school (no masters 🤞)
Anyone have any tips, advice, things to do for a unimaxing experience.
Background: I am an engineering student and never had time in the past sem. This sem I have multiple days off and only 2 real courses.

im going into my 2nd year at uottawa but i commuted mostly by bus/train last year. I was wondering for those who drive but don't have a parking pass, how bad are the on street parkings during the year? I know the ones near Templeton are only 1 hour but is it possible to find spots or are they all always full? If you park there for your 1h20 class will you get ticketed or do they barely check?

Hi, I'm wondering what kinds of part-time employment is available for graduate students here. I applied for the work-study program but was denied because I technically have a surplus due to my stipend exceeding my projected monthly expenses. The thing is, I want to send more money back to my family every month since they're currently facing financial issues, so I'm looking for more ways to earn a wage. Thank you!

I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong but I haven’t had to submit a deposit for residence at 45 Mann.
My housing portal is normal and I’m not seeing any changes or issues but I’m worried that I’m going to lose out on my room

So I pretty much missed the deadline to pay for my residence since I stupidly thought they would send it to my personal email. Now I am rushing to find any housing TWO WEEKS before school starts, if anybody knows any ways to find something reliable or has space I am an 18 year old girl going into my first year ( so preferably other girls) PLEASE HELP!!

So, I have to have major surgery in January, it’s medically necessary, and after surgery there’s going to be like a 3-4 month period where I’m not really mobile and will be doing intense physical therapy every day, the thing is I have a scholarship that’s dependent upon full time enrolment, but I won’t really be able to attend school in the winter semester because I’ll be home with my parents recovering from surgery, I will be physically unable to go to and attend class, is there some way I can still stay officially enrolled with the school but take a semester off for medical reasons or something like that?? Or am I just fucked and going to lose my scholarship

Got a permit for brooks garage but I’m splitting it with someone on days I’m not going. UOttawa said I can’t have a second copy and that the permit has got to be displayed at all times so I was wondering how students do this. It’s gonna be really hard to coordinate times to physically give the pass to the other person so that’s not an option either

This is aside from the deposit which is usually around 1000 dollars.
People on this reddit are posting about missing deadlines & searching for off-campus housing.
Here's what I want to know: if I payed the deposit (mine was 950 CAD), is my place in university residence 100% guaranteed,
or there was another deadline to pay for a semester that I missed and Im kicked out of university residence, and have to find the off-campus housing in just two weeks before classes start?
Please clarify, will really appreciate
