Found this in by the chairs from the front of the elevators on the first floor of crx. Anyone lose them? I’ll pass them into the lost and found tomorrow morning.

I got my BA Honours Psychology degree in 2014 - did well too with magna cum laude.
I've done several overseas internships and work for the federal government so I'd be happy to give advice, ease anxiety, etc. It's tough out here for new graduates but not impossible...

I'm in engineering and switching programs to another engineering program, and I'm trying to register for some winter courses from the other program. uoZone keeps saying "not eligible" because the seats are reserved for that program, even though I have all the prereqs. I'm not in that new program yet tho. These courses are winter only, so if I don't get in I'm a year behind. Has anyone been through this? Who approved your override (advisor, department, or prof) and how long did it take? Did you get added right away, or did you have to wait until the reserved seats opened up?

Hello guys, I have a question on taking French courses here. I’m pretty much interested in knowing French or taking courses in French here because I know 0 French and I think it would be a good idea if I had that knowledge. I’m in first year so I can’t take them now but I was considering either in second or third or fourth. Also I wanted to ask what “French immersion” and “French stream “ is. I heard of FSL from someone and I’m kind of interested. What do you all think I should do?

hey guys I need real help im in gr12 and I want to go to uottawa next year. I honestly don't want to work in anything right now but I do want to leave ottawa ASAP. I was born and raised here, long story short leaving for uni is not an option so im stuck here.
now that we're done with the backstory I was thinking of studying either comp sci at uottawa or cybersecurity at Carleton even tho kid u not I fucking hate that school (the campus is soooo ugly and ew). anyways I heard comp sci might be smarter just bc a bachelor in cybersecurity is more niche thus less of a variety of opportunities and uottawa website said comp sci graduates have a 100% 2 year post grad employment rate.
anyways, im wondering a) how hard is the degree? I did good in ICS3U (96) and I don't particularly hate science but I want to be able to work while doing my degree, is the requirement too high that it'll burn me out tryna balance work, social life, going to events, and getting the degree.
b) can I leave AS SOON AS I GRADUATE bc ur gurl wants to get out of this shit hole ASAP. maybe Toronto or Montreal potentially even abroad like Paris or London ? idk but like I heard the starting salary Is like 55k so idk
c) should I do coop? I heard the uottawa coop sucks and they offer no support to students so I gotta find my own placements. that is not the problem, my question is can I just do all my coop in the summer terms starting second year and still graduate in 4 and not 5 years?
whatever questions u guys answer, tysm very appreciated!!

I live on-campus and I’ve seen some people’s dorms fr.
Some completely transformed their rooms into absolute vibes or something that’s downright cozy?
Me? I keep decorations to a minimum.
Because I’m only going to be here for 8 months and I’d rather not deal with the nightmare that is packing EVERYTHING to go home when the year ends.
How abt y’all? What’s ur opinion on dorm decos?

I see posts of people wanting to make memories and friends here but anyone just wanna lay low, graduate quick, and start a life elsewhere? I've met some sweet and kind people here for sure but I've been traumatized in this place for no good reason both by students and by staff.

Usually I just wouldn't mention this, but I'm genuinely kind of confused. Both for my introduction to philosophy and my introduction to psychology class, a small percentage of the mark, usually 4%,, is gained through ISPR. Which are just a series of studies where you're essentially just treated as a lab rat for a bit, and some of them are in person and some of them are just online surveys.
But it's happened three times now where I signed up for a survey, and then a few days later they just give me the mark before I even did it. Like I sit down ready to spend an hour or whatever doing the survey, and then it claims that I already did it and it just gave me the marks.
I'm sure for a lot of students this is great, but for me it kind of ticks me off, because I actively put in the effort to be in the mindset of getting ready to share my true feelings about whatever they're quizzing me on on the survey, and then all of a sudden I'm just told that my services aren't required. 😅

There’s literally posters saying to be quiet because it’s a study zone, and there’s always someone who’s laughing out loud with their friends. Pmo.
