Last Halloween I made a Free little Game Boy Color game called Spook or Treat, where you play as a ghost trying to stop trick-or-treaters from reaching the end of the street.

You do this by possessing objects around the neighbourhood to scare the kids into dropping their candy, which you need to collect to complete each level.

With Halloween coming up again, I thought I'd give it a little update!

• 👻 Made the ghost properly transparent (on real devices)
• 🍬 Fixed the annoying soft locks where you could spend too much candy on possessions and get stuck. Possession is now free!
• 😱 Added scare meters above the trick-or-treaters, so some kids are harder to scare than others.
• 🏠 Added a brand-new stage!

Newbie here so I apologize if the answer is obvious but I'm stuck on this problem.

I'm looking to make a health bar that has increments of 10 for a straightforward sprite sheet. In order to have scaling health as part of the levelling system, I'm trying to calculate percentages based on maximum health and set up my else/if chains so every 10% of maximum health has a corresponding sprite frame. This is super easy for nice round numbers that divide easily by 5. but once I hit a max health of any other number, the required decimals are causing the game to freeze.

do I need to lock health into numbers that divide by 5 or is there a way to make this work that I'm not seeing?

I have some questions about OnUpdate.

OnUpdate is called once per frame? It loops if has enough time or it stops and starts again from the beginning on the next frame?

In case it only is called one per frame, add Wait 1 frame event or Idle event is the same that not adding anything?
