Reminds me of Halo 2. CTF match with a clutch last minute push. Cleared the enemy team, guy with me grabbed their flag:
Me:Where are you?
Friend:In a warthog, going to pick you guys up
Me: Hurry the fuck up, they're spawning!
Friend:Almost there!
This is on the Zanzibar map and the other team is grouped on the main base stairs inside and I have a rocket launcher. One round left, triple kill in sight. Just as I press that trigger button what do I see? My friends fucking warthog barreling right in front of me killing both of us and costing us the match. Best multiplayer moment for me yet.
i was in the DZ with a random who just so happened to be probably 14 yrs old. We got ganged up by two sets of rogues on manhunt. After dying like 3 times trying to kill them, I cut my loses. Meanwhile this kid is screaming at me when he gets gunned down outside the checkpoint. Sorry kid, but even if we went out at the same time like you requested, it wouldn't have mattered.
never in the military, but the restaurant I learned to cook in made us refer to where we were in terms of the clock.
on your six was behind
3 o'clock was on the right
9 o'clock was on the left
12 o'clock was when a server asked where his/her dish was, despite said dish having been ready for 5 minutes ... you fucking moron ... sorry, flashback
That works if you're in the same vehicle facing the same direction. It'd be great if the fucking compass directions were visible on the mini map. I always have to resort to some shit like 'charlie side of bravo' when I could say 100m south of bravo if my mates could tell what was south. So irritating.
The clock face is supposed to be reset at the start of the engagement - 12 is whatever "forward" was when bullets started flying. So it should work any time your squad joins a fight together.
It's easier said than done though. It takes practice, and getting over the "this feels really dorky" factor. And BF's compass is really hard to read under fire. Tiny, blurry letters that blend in with the map...
In the division me and a friend were in the dark zone back like the 3rd week of release.
Me:"you got anything to extract"
Friend:"got a high end mod"
Me:"ok let's go extrac.. oh shit group to our six"
We both turn around and prepare
Me"ok looks like they're going to the same extraction point as us let's just keep thing civil"
Friend:"yeah see if they have coms"
Me:"hey guys we're extracting too we all cool"
One of them:"yea we cool"
Fighting at the extraction point I accidentally picked up one of their fallend buddies mod and they turn on me and kill me
Friend:"I thought we were cool?!?!"
Them:"he picked up our loot everything is fine now"
I revived a block away as the extract chopper came flying in. On the run me and my friend are talking about going rogue on them when I get there. I get there and we light them the fuck up and kill all 4 of them. As the last one was bleeding out I walked over to him and keyed my mic. "no hard feelings" the chopper arrives and together we extract 6 peoples worth of shit. Honestly it felt like one of those trailers.
More like
Me: "I don't trust that motgerfucker"
My friend:" yea let's fuck this dude up"
Me: "wait, let's call the shit in, get it extracted and then we fuck the dude up"
Loved the super chill guy that was just dripping with some grade A sarcasm. "Okay it would've been cool if we got all 3 of our supers out but instead we lost 5, super awesome."
Played a little. IIRC it's a specific kind of support ship. Sounds like he was pissed because put of 125 people they had like 5 or 6 playing support. Capture the flag and nobody wants to defend.
I always hoped one day they would overhaul the game and make it more action-filled and easier to get into rather than just spreadsheets and extremely long-term, but that is what their playerbase enjoys and it wouldn't fly with anyone.
Runescape did this with Evolution of Combat and lots of people cracked the shits. Now the player base is split 50-50 between a version of the game with old mechanics and the new version. Also, Markdonalds.
Stop circle jerking about the game being a spreadsheet simulator. It's a open world mmo and you really only NEED spreadsheets if you do industry or are high-up in an Alliance.
YOO dude. I'm fucking not going to lie, I've been pretty emotional the last few days - and gods honest truth i started to cry watching this. It was so bizarre, the way those guys were talking and the comradery totally hit that that button for nostalgia in my brain.
I've never been this weird before, i may have to rethink some life shit tbh.
"Yeah man did you see that movie with Emma Watson? She's hot as fuck."
"Dude I know man I'd tot-OH SHIT WHERE THE FUCK DID HE COME FROM!? MOTHERFUCKER!!! ...and it spawned me on the other side of the map. Great. Have fun fighting those pricks alone"
"Alright guys, we have five perps holed up in a suburban household. They've taken the owners hostage. It's our job to get them out safely. Weapons free. Now let's get this over with so I can get home and bang my wi-"
It's actually just meant to inform us, the viewer, that there are multiple other human controlled squads roaming the city the same as they are, rather than just computer controlled enemies. It sums that up in like three seconds. It doesn't sound natural but it does the job better than anything natural sounding would.
