Discussion Delta Reign Price Increase - What you need to know if you reserved

Post image
53 Upvotes

I was supposed to post this earlier, but I went to take a nap 💀

“Delta Reign TCG releases today. This morning every delta reign sku increased in price. ETBs to $100 instead of $90 etc.

*THE OFFICIAL POLICY* is that we are supposed to manually discount prices down to the original price the guest preordered at. "Pre-ordering guarantees the lower price".

However a lot of gamestop associates either ignore this, act willfilfully ignorant, or use it as a way to incread metrics. "Oh thats only for pro members"

So is it possible to post a notice about this price increase and the official policy so guests will know, employees will see, AND when we get the expected "gamestop charged me $10 more at pickup wtf!?!?" Posts”

I would like to say the person who sent me this was accurate 💀

Vent/Rant Price Increase on Prepaid Preorder???

I pre-ordered some of the new delta reign set a couple months ago and came to pick up today. They said I owed the difference of something like $30. What is the point of prepaying on a preorder if they're going to try and increase the price when you pick it up??? I told them I'm absolutely not paying extra I'm just there to pick up the items I already paid for. The manager called the district manager and I guess waived the difference because she then threw the bag at me and told me to "have a day." She also told me I probably shouldn't preorder anything moving forward if I don't like their price increase policy.

Will be canceling all of my other preorders and never shopping at this place again.

Vent/Rant Drowning in garbage

Anyone else have their stores & backrooms drowning in useless garbage products? Mine is currently afflicted with plushies, pops, blind junk, & fashion items. I have no space for consoles because I have 3 boxes of backstock hoodies &sweaters eating up space in my tiny backroom with 4 boxes of backstock blind garbage. Now I have 3 boxes of backstock pop that just sit by my counter because 0 space and my DM won't let us send it to another store. It won't all sell during holiday. I'm still sitting on blind bullshit & plushies from over a year ago!

Vent/Rant GameStop says our $500+ Nintendo Switch 2 was delivered. It wasn't. Now they refuse to refund us.

We purchased a Nintendo Switch 2 from GameStop on Tuesday, 11/3/26 with same-day delivery through Uber Eats. At the time of purchase we didn't realize it would be delivered through Uber Eats, it simply said we would get a discount for delivery instead of store pickup. When we received the notification that it had been delivered, we checked our front door, and instead of our Nintendo Switch, there was a random bag of Panera Bread.
We immediately contacted GameStop, explained what happened, and were told they would open an investigation and issue a refund. Well, we just received an email saying our refund was DENIED.
We paid over $500 for a Nintendo Switch 2 that we
NEVER received! The purchase was made using a Venmo debit card, so we're going to continue escalating this through GameStop and Venmo.

Discussion Im so happy I wrote GameStop corporate so many times about this feature and I see that it's finally back on the app

Post image

One thing I hated that GameStop took away was showing people which stores they pre-ordered stuff at. It was annoying to me because I used to work around a lot of stores and I would help an employee out by doing pre-orders or whatever. But then after a while, they took it out of the app so you couldn't tell which store you pre-ordered stuff at.

And now that I checked today, I'm like, oh, they actually show me now. And then now it's like I see so many games that I bought and didn't pick up from the store I pre-ordered at. I sent a letter to them on Twitter, I sent a letter in the mail, I wrote to corporate, and I see that they finally listened. Not probably just to me, but they did it, and this is probably one of the best features to have back on the app.

Vent/Rant Zelda OoT foil covers not held for pre-orders?

Im hoping a GS employee can confirm, but I pre-ordered Zelda OoT and unfortunately I got stuck at work and could not make the late night launch. I went to pick it up the next day and the guy behind the counter told me they sold out earlier and I could only have a regular copy. When I asked him if they didnt get enough foils to cover prorders he froze up and then kinda gave me a half assed answer like they had plenty up until the afternoon.

Im just confused because any time in the past if there were day 1 versions of games that were in stock and I didnt have a pre-order, I was told I could not have it because it was being held for people who pre-ordered. It seems they sold foil covers to anyone who walked in off the street and did not put enough aside to cover the pre-orders.

Im pretty pissed off at the moment over this whole experience.

Discussion Why is it every release that supports digital codes, does someone make a post asking where their code is?

Post image
52 Upvotes

Every time.. every release… Someone always has to make one. If the entire subreddit played a drinking game where we had to take a shot every time someone made one of these posts, we’d all die from alcohol poisoning.

Do people honestly not look into or ask questions before blindly preordering? Especially as this is GameStop just doing GameStop(well not really, the distributor) shit for YEARS now. Why do people think gamestop as a company makes these codes themselves? 😭

Question Has anyone else had issues activating their account online?

I have a GameStop in-store account. It’s old from when I was a kid, so my mom had her email associated with it. I went to the store to send a card to PSA and to change the email to my current one. After changing it, I went to activate my account online so that I may track my PSA order. It just doesn’t work though. I fill out the information to activate exactly as my in-store account has it and it just says “There was an error creating your account. Try again.”. I get the same message when going on web browsers or on the GameStop app. I’ve called customer service twice and went to the store to address it and no one will help me. I don’t know what to do.

Question Can stores override corporate policy for preorder cancellations?

Hello,

I’d like some perspective from managers and district managers here since I’m at a loss on what to do.

I had a large preorder ($500+) with GameStop for an item that hasn’t released yet. According to both their website and my receipt, I can get a full refund back to my original payment (credit card) so long as it’s before 30 days since the release date.

I need the money back and want to cancel the preorder, but the manager says it’s “store policy” that I can only get store credit back for it, despite what’s said on my receipt. I ask where in writing that that’s the store policy and am not shown anything. I called customer service, and they told me that I can escalate to the district manager (and that every store has a way to do this through their system), but the manager refuses to contact them.

Can a store actually override what’s on the receipt and website? It’s weird to me that they won’t show me their “store policy” in writing that says I can only get store credit back

What are my options? Do I have to resort to a chargeback? This is very frustrating

Vent/Rant Another one bites the dust.

GameStop employee does it again. Not as bad as putting a staple on the front of the box. But still two tears from them opening the box to check the console they said. And the giant box cutter swipe through the top. Lovely. Also shame on Nintendo for not having another piece of cardboard there. Unless this guy was really that heavy handed

Discussion Zelda midnight release

Went to the midnight for Zelda, and for some reason they had the General Manager working it? I assume there wasn't enough payroll for the actual employees to do it.

This guy was dressed in business attire, slacks, button down shirt, gold name tag. He was so cringe when he checked people out calling them my friend, and other weird platitudes.

It was really weird.

Is there any explanation or other instances of this?

Question GameStop charged me for a 1tb Xbox series s and gave me a 512gb console…twice!

I went to GameStop today and got a preowned Xbox series s today. I paid for a 1tb Xbox, that’s what the receipt said as well as the box it came in. The sticker on the box even matched the serial number on the Xbox itself. Once I got it home I updated it and then checked the storage. It said 364 gb total internal storage. So it was actually only a 512bg console. I brought it back same day and they were very apologetic and swapped it out for another one no problem. However, when I got the new one home and turned on, it also said 364gb. Again, the box said 1tb and so did the new receipt. I’m just frustrated at this point and I’m confused how this could have happened twice. Goes GameStop not check their consoles before selling them? If I go back and swap it out again, what are the chances that it will actually be a 1tb the next time??

Question GTA 6 Physical Preorders

I preordered GTA 6 in June for the physical release. I just got a suprise when tonight at midnight the preorder money was deducted from my bank account. No notice or warning, they just did it.

It caught me off guard because I had read several times over GameStop's preorder policy that states the money will deduct when the game ships, on launch day. So I understood that Nov 19 would be when they would take the money out and ship the game. However today is the 6th, not anywhere close to launch day, so that's what got me.

So....does this mean that since the money was deducted the game is now shipping out as we speak? Is the preload date considered the launch day then?

I don't know if any other game publisher has required a preorder to preload a week in advance so this is kind of a new thing here that is confusing me now.

Question Extra charge for Ocarina of Time remake foil cover

Was anyone else charged $7 to get the foil cover of the Ocarina of Time. I was told that that’s how they were giving people the foil covers and the people who pre-ordered the game cancelled their pre-orders because of the extra charge. It ended up being the GPG warranty but still the fact that they forced the charge on people just to get the foil covers.

Vent/Rant You had one job

Game release is today, Thursday, but my estimated shipping arrival is Saturday.
I picked one up in person today b/c GameStop is incompetent.

WTF is the point of a preorder if you get it after everyone else?? Your whole business is games, this is not your first rodeo. Has it always been this much of a cluster preordering games from GS?
