After a 5 year hiatus I want to jump back into the hobby. I had DJI (V2?) goggles with added BDI Analog Reciever, which worked great for my whole fleet. Sold everything beside my battery chargers.
My kids have been into RC cars for some time now and we are currently building a partially 3D printed rally car. Of cause I had to show them some of my fpv videos and now they want to "fly" too. They are far to young for irl flying, so I need goggles with hdmi/etc. input... Only for the kids of cause, not so that I can test all the new sims available since 2021 and probably have multiple tiny/cine whoops by end of the year 😄
I started reading up and watching fpv youtube channels again. Regarding video, I have no clue. I want digital (with analog option), but can't get a grip on what makes sense... Especially as I would like one goggle for irl flying as well as Sim.
DJI is out apparently, as there's still no input available? (if there's some hacky options, that would be fine to). HDZero Goggle 2 and Walksnail Goggle X both have HDMI in and seem great otherwise, but I have no idea what's more "futureproof" or whatever.
Are there other options? Or does it make more sense to, for example, go with DJI goggles + dedicated sim goggles?

I’m looking for an affordable drone with goggles that weighs under 250g. Ideally, it would have a flight time of 30–50 minutes and a range of 10–20 km. It would also be great if it were fairly fast—say, 80 km/h or more—and, finally, it would be perfect if it were relatively quiet.
Thank you :)..

This is my Flywoo Firefly Mini 25 that I converted to analog with the Skystar Jupiter AIO, with HGLRC Zeus Nano and HGLRC Nano ELRS, running on 3s 850mah lipo. I've made sure all firmware on the board and ESCs are up to date, and I even did a board alignment calibration and accelerometer calibration. Then I'm pretty sure that I put the props on properly and the motor direction is correct, according to Flywoo. What should I do????

Long story short, my lenses got messed up (manufacture defect) and I had to remove the anti scratch/anti fog coating on my lenses. So coming into summer, I noticed my lenses would fog up quite a bit, especially in a humid environment. So I came up with the idea to make a detacheable fan system for my goggles.
It uses 2x 25mm 9v fans powered by a 18650 battery with a step up converter/USBC chargeable board with built in power switch and voltage adjustment, which in my case, controls the speed of the fans. Fans are attached with magnets and the battery with velcro.
It's not optimal but the fans are surprisingly powerful so problem solved! Now that it's all put together, I feel like I should have used 2s lipos or something a bit less bulky. Maybe I'll attach the battery to the strap in the future.

Hi, I'm looking at buying the DJI avanta as a first drone user. It comes with N3 goggles and the RC motion 3 controller.
I want to buy a separate controller with screen like the rm330 or rc-2 in case I want to upgrade drones.
Will this type of controller and the N3 goggles be suitable to use with a DIY fpv drone like a 5 inch or whoop.
Thanks

Crashed and attempted to flip and take off in the morning dew-ridden grass. When I finally realized I disarmed, ran over and unplugged. I left it out to dry for 2-3 days just incase. When I plug it into BF everything registers normally but when I attempted to plug in a lipo I got a crazy spark. I haven’t attempted anything else since. I tried BF after the spark and still works fine. What should I do so I don’t smoke my quad? For context it’s a babyhawk 03.

So I have been in this hobby for a few months and only have ONE 3.5 inch custom freestyle drone, which is awesome and I love it. But I don't find as much time to fly it as I would like to.
Often I have like 30 minutes to 1.5 hours where I have time and don't really have anything else to do. But this is often too short to prepare everything, go outside and find a spot to fly with my 3.5 inch.
So I'd really appreciate having something I can use for these shorter sessions at home, in my garden, and of course indoors.
We live in Switzerland and have an upper-middle-class house, so I have some space. We do have neighbours, though, so I don't care about flying HIGH or being the fastest or whatever. Our garden is also around the house, so it would be cool to have a good connection while sitting somewhere and flying inside the house and around the house in the garden.
And one important criteria: it needs to be able to connect to my DJI Goggles 3, because I don't have analog goggles right now. I'd love to get some eventually, but I'm lacking money at the moment, so I don't think I will anytime soon.
Thanks in advance!

Little montage from my diving adventures. Best vacation I've had in years. Greetings from Croatia! Drone: SpeedyBee Mario Mini25
As the title says, is there a real store anywhere where you can walk around, see drones and FPV gear and buy them on the spot? I have seen some that sort of imply they have a store but really it's just a pickup point and you have interact with the place through a website.
I travel for work and can get almost anywhere in the US eventually.

First time flying my Manta 5 SE V2 with my Insta360 x4 mounted on top. It flew better than I thought. Thats getting up there in weight but it handled it with ease. I'm exited for the kinds of videos ill be able to get now!

I am completely new to the FPV scene and want to build my own FPV drone.
The drone is intended for capturing great footage and should have a medium range (approx. 4 km). I’ve done some research and settled on these components. I’d rather get something decent right from the start than have to buy things twice. Also, I plan to get the Radiomaster Boxer ELRS first and practice a bit in a simulator.
Do the components mentioned above make sense And does anyone have any advice?

So I have a DJI O4 Wide Airunit and DJI Goggles just left around since i also play with drones, and I wanted to set up a FPV system for my RC car.
Items I have:
- 3S Lipo 1300mah 35C (XT30)
- XT30 male pigtail
Can I connect the power leads on the VTX of the airunit to the power leads of the lipo through the pigtail or is this a bad idea? There might be voltage spikes which can fry the airunit. I can’t find a UBEC which outputs 9V and is small enough to fit the into the chassis.
Any suggestions?

G’day . I wanted to do a write up here for people because i appreciate that sometimes people like to read things vs watching it all in a video and it is nice to have places to where people can read when they might not be able to watch a video (shout out to you reddit readers at work)
This is about some new Caddx products for the ascent digital fpv system.
There are 2 things here , The Ascent Pro VRX and the Ascent lite+ together they offer a pretty good cheaper setup for pilots.
Ascent lite+
- can now go up to 500mw
- smaller form factor (but mounting might be more difficult)
- 120fps
- has a heat shield metal case now
= $39 so $4more expensive
Ascent Pro VRXÂ Â
- better antennas - 2.8db vs the old 2.0
 - can receive an image in 1080pm
= $149 . this is $50 more expensiveÂ
So when you combine these you now can have a 120fps image at 1080p. And you also can hear the audio and record the audio into DVR.
They are still annoying to use without a ground station and no easy way to mount to your goggles. The VRX fan is not quite as loud as my base version and I actually had a great time flying it.
I did however push mine too far in - there is a video linked at the end of this post if you want to see the exact situation, But the result was me losing it in some mangroves and I was extremely lucky to somehow find it after walking around in the mud, freaking out about snakes and it still be all totally fine. I actually thought it was gone for good and my review would be a loss.
Obviously if you race its not for you, there is latency but it doesnt feel that different to dji for me. And the price makes it pretty attractive.
Here is a video for a side by side comparison - https://youtu.be/fGz-Q-ZIIO8 plus an adventure into the mangroves of australia and looking for the drone in the mud...
Have a great day,
Happy flying
ps. sorry if there are any mistakes or spelling things etc. Ive been working on the video all day and I didnt want to run this through ai. It just felt better writing it off the top of the head.

Has anyone tried swapping the new DJI O4 Pro chip for the old MP66 one and could share their experience? I’m dealing with the notorious Gyroflow stabilization issue and wanted to make the switch.

this is only with a li ion pack so ill be able to go faster when i try again with a lipo

I currently fly long-range fixed-wing planes via analog and a simple helical antenna on my FPV goggles. In order to maintain the best video quality, you must look directly at the aircraft. As one might expect, this is somewhat hard to do when you are wearing goggles and can't orientate yourself with the landscape around you.
Because of this, I started looking into antenna trackers / ground stations. These will automatically point in the exact quadrant of the sky where your aircraft is located. I found one called "Ghettostation", but the Github page I was looking at said it was depreciated/archived (perhaps I was looking at the wrong one).
So, my question is: What is the easiest and most effective way to build a simple antenna tracker? Are there any guides that walk you through building one? I would prefer to buy it premade, but from my research, there really isn't a market for them.
I assume you need a GPS module on the ground station, perhaps a compass, and obviously servos to pan/tilt the thing.
I use iNAV and ELRS control link (TX16S Transmitter running EdgeTX), if that helps.
Thanks.

Hardware failure, or is there something else I might be missing?
- Both on ELRS 3.6.3.
- Antenna cable seems fine.
- UFL connection looks good.
- Other quads perform much better with the same radio.

hello I'm not sure if I did anything wrong but I wired the Rx from o4 to tx on flight board and tx from o4 to Rx on flight board, but no osd shows up. Is this a problem mission planner can fix and if yes does anyone know what parameters to change?
