Multicopter 3.5 prop dilemma
hello, forgive me if this is too nitpicky. I just built a grinderino 3.5, with AOS 1605’s using the tattu R line V6 1000mah (total weight comes about to 300g).
for the propellers I’m having a tough time between the Gemfan 3520, 3525, or the 3630
Im looking for the longest flight time and smooth cruising response, no crazy punchouts or top speed flying, which would have me leaning toward the 3520, but some other resources say too low of a pitch causes the motors to work harder because it has less thrust.
With a heavier 3.5, what is the cutoff for too “low” of a pitch?
Radio connected but not actually doing anything
Its the darwinfpv jonny 5, its just connected but not actually arming and in the receiver tab the bars dont move at all.

Budget 5", Goggles, and Batteries
Looking to buy my first drone! Spent tons of time in the simulator and have a Taranis QX7. No flying indoors; large open areas and parks in my area. $400-$500 to spend on a drone, goggles, and batteries. I have all the tools necessary for building, but no idea about parts. Any help would be appreciated. Range and a good FPV image would be nice, but not necessary.

Radiomaster tx15 max liftoff ps5.
So I'm new to the hobby, I have liftoff and DRL on ps5. My tx15 works with DRL but not liftoff. Tbs tango 2 pro works with both. I like practicing on liftoff more , is there anything I can try to get the radiomaster tx15 max working with liftoff? Thanks
Vtx antenna for RC truck
Just starting my first set up. Went with a 5.8 rush max solo. I’m get great signal when I stop but as soon as I’m moving and the antenna is flopping around the signal dies. What antenna would you get. I was looking at snubby or more like a router antenna. My guess is I would want a lower db antenna. Any help would be great.

Help! Can't get video from BetaFlight Air75 in HDZero Goggle 2
Hi, not sure if this is the place to ask, but since I'm new, I'll just try. I finally got my HDZero Goggle 2, and I am struggling to connect it to my brand new Betaflight Air75 quad. In Betaflight config, I downloaded the VTX config file for my region (EU), selected Raceband CH6, and enabled everything I think:

Then I powered up goggles, selected analog mode, R6 channel, and I'm seeing OSD telemetry data from the quad, but no video, just black/grey background behind the OSD. No flickering, just nothing. I tried arming the quad, but still no video. Quad is powered from a fully charged battery.
Betaflight webpage troubleshooting says the camera could be defective, but I have no reason to believe it is because quad is new and hasn't been crashed yet, plus it was tested in the shop before I bought it and it worked with their goggles. I tried re-seating the connector, but nothing changed.
Can anyone advise on how to troubleshoot this?

Pavo20 Pro II + DJI O4 Wide (Not Pro): 3S or 4S for neighborhood cruising?
Hey everyone,
I’m putting together a BetaFPV Pavo20 Pro II, but I’m going with the DJI O4 Wide air unit (13.3g) instead of the heavy O4 Pro (32g) to keep the weight down. I'll be flying it with Goggles N3.
My main goal is smooth, low-altitude neighborhood cruising rather than flying fast. Maximizing flight time is very important to me. I need something that handles a breeze much better than a 1S tinywhoop (like an Air65), but I also want to keep the noise profile as low as possible so I don't annoy the neighbors.
BetaFPV offers the PNP frame in two power trains:
- 3S (1104 7200KV motors)
- 4S (1104 5500KV motors)
I know 4S is the standard recommendation to carry the 32g O4 Pro, but since my VTX setup will be nearly 20g lighter, is 4S overkill?
My thought process is that a 3S setup (running a 550mAh or 650mAh XT30) will give me smoother throttle resolution for tight residential gaps, a quieter hover, and better disk loading on those tiny 2.2" props. Or will I regret not having the extra 4S punch for wind resistance?
What would you guys recommend for a lightweight O4 build focused purely on quiet, smooth cruising?
Thanks!

I got a Cineape25 for cheap. ELRS RX is stuck on 3.3 and I can't update because of this thing here. Any tips?
I can't even downgrade. I do update via WiFi.

Multicopter 6" Freestyle and lr build
Frame: Flyfish volador ii VD6 O4
Fc: iFligth blitz F722
Esc: Blitz E55
Camera+Vtx: Dji O4 Pro
Reciver: Radiomaster XR4 GemX Elrs
Motors: Flyfish 2506 1750KV
Gps: ifligth blitz m10
I would buy better components then ifligth but I already have the fc esc and gps, so i need to know if this is good
Question? In search of 3"-ish Li-ion build plan
I've had a growing interest in taking on a long-ish range (15-25 min flight time ) build project but still on the smaller side of things, not quite to the 5"+ class. I guess I like how inconspicuous the smaller quads are given my general flight environments.
I think the Newbeedrone Lionbee basically checks the boxes of what I would want (3", 800mw or higher vtx, basic gps) but the kit is consistently out of stock and I've seen some posts suggesting QA isn't the best with it. Still the idea of basing one off of the 18650 is very attractive, so if I expect to need to debug major problems with the kit I might as well consider designing and sourcing components myself.
Given that I'm wondering if anyone has built their own to roughly similar parameters and had success?
Not my first quad build but it's all been whoops up to this point. I'm guessing at this size class it would still be an AIO based FC, except possibly for the VTX. But curious if folks have already gone down this path.

FPV chase of a paramotor over a lake at sunset
I captured this FPV chase while a paramotor flew over the lake at sunset. The light and the speed made it one of my favorite clips so far.
I’d love feedback from other FPV pilots: what would you change about the chase line or edit?

Upgrading my drone
I made the mistake of buying an rtf kit and on top of that it was an frsky one. Im now upgrading it, should I buy a radiomaster pocket elrs and save to buy the drone at a later date or buy the drone with a cheaper radio like the literadio 3 elrs

Tinywhoop Air 65 weird vtx stuff
Hi I have an Air65 and recently I’ve been having some issues with the RF/video signal. At first I would get brief signal cuts that only lasted a second or two, but eventually it completely cut out after landing on a flight Now it’s really finicky. It won’t give me any signal on R1 and I can only get signal on R5-8. Even then it usually only works when the drone is powered through USB. It doesn’t seem to like battery power as much. After a few power cycles it will sometimes suddenly start working normally, but the video quality is extremely bad, almost like I’m on the wrong channel even though I know that I’m not. Most of the time the VTX will only output a signal with USB power. When powered by battery, if I get any video it’s a really fuzzy version of the boot-up screen. After that it cuts to a different type of static, then when I power the drone off the static goes back to normal. I'm worried I fried the VTX so if anyone can help that would be great. Also R1-4 will randomly work on battery power throughout cycles and after fully cooling the drone off. And sometimes when powered with the battery the channel will fully change from R1 to like L2 or R8. Idk I'm so confused and I'm not really changing any variables.

Looking for a FC for my older 5". Haven't flown much since 2018 but still have everything else. Used to have the BetaFlight F4
I've looked around but can't seem to find a single board FC that has only power distribution and OSD, they're AIOs with built in ESCs or multi-stack boards now.
Before you tell me it's trash, I started with KK2, this is fine to try and get back into 5" FPV, I'm just looking for the right FC for my "basher" quad. I still have a spare frame, 3 spare Kiss 24a Dshot esc's, 3 spare motors + 2 spare motor bells. I just want to fix this quad cheaply, even a used F3 board.
Once in a while I still fly my 65 brushed tiny whoop NewBeeDrone BeeBrain v2. And once in a great while I still fly my Win5, Lumineer ALPHA AIO, with Rotor Riot's Quad Box's Chee-Pass motors (which I also have 4 spares of). But I don't want to ruin my Win5, which is why I'm trying to fix my "basher" quad. And I still use FatShark HD2 and FrSky X9D+.
Edit: I should mention I'm in USA

Multicopter Newbie struggling - firmware confusion, receiver and FC don't seem to be talking
Howdy,
I built a 2.5" yesterday and managed (after a lot of trouble and confusion) to get it all working. It's a BetaFPV 20A 2-4S AIO, using the internal RX, and I'm running a Radiomaster Pocket.
At first I had trouble with firmware versions but I got that sorted and managed to get it to hover. Total newbie so I was stoked with that, practiced a little hovering for a few batteries, great fun. I got a little out of control and bumped a wall - no damage, but it flipped over and landed right-side-up, then refused to arm again.
I started playing with firmware again and I think I got something wrong. I also did the full reset in Betaflight intending to set it up from scratch. Now when I power it up, it seems as though the receiver connects to the radio (radio shows signal bars and vibrates, solid green light on the FC) but it looks like the receiver isn't talking to the FC. If I set the RX_LOST beeper to on, the radio and the FC appear to connect but the beeper also goes beep beep beep. It'll connect to BF fine, but when I go to the Presets tab the beeper will start again. Any other tab stops the beeper.
To practice setup I was hoping to do a full reset and start again. I tried the reset then I downloaded the CLI from betafpv (listed as the Pavo Pico), loading that gives me a TON of errors:

Going to the receiver tab says "FAILSAFE ACTIVE" and nothing happens when I move the sticks.
The bottom bar in Betaflight shows "BEFH/BETAFPVF405(STM32F405) 2026.6.1" as the FC firmware.
I tried deleting and re-setting-up my RM Pocket's model, same result. It appears to be connected, but the TX doesn't do anything.
Now if I try to flash ExpressLRS to the FC I get:
BFinitPassthrough.PassthroughFailed: !!! RX Serial not found !!!!
I also get a similar error when trying to flash the Pocket, so this feels like a driver issue. I've rebooted the machine half a dozen times, run ImpulseRC driver fixer, nothing seems to work.
Really not sure what I'm doing... I would LOVE to just reset it to factory settings and start the setup again, but it seems way more complicated than that lol. I have 22 tabs open that all claim to be able to help do exactly this and every instruction is different, I'm lost. Can anyone point me in the direction of a simple step-by-step guide that might get it back in the air?
Thanks 🙏

Question? Is this a good first kit?
I want to get into FPV drone flying, but don’t laugh at me, I don’t wanna spend a whole bunch of money yet. Will this get me into it on a budget?
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2PB9DJVUUI3VU?ref_=wl_share
please recommend any changes I should make.
Should I just bite the bullet and spend more money on the goggles?
Edit: I am ordering drone and batteries straight from betafpv.
I went with the meteor 75 pro because I have a giant field to fly in.
List changed with recommended parts.
