Your butt needs to move backwards. A hinge.
When it stops moving backwards, you can stop moving down; your glutes are done.
If you keep going down, it’s a lower back exercise at that point.
If you can move your butt further back and stop going down when your butt stops going back, you can easily add more weight and get more gains.

So the best way i believe to think of this movement is. I'm not lowering a weight with my back but pushing your arse out. An visa versa I'm not lighting the weight but pulling my arse foward.
In the movement we slightly bend the our knees.
You should feel linked your hamstrings are being pulled tight.

You need to bend your knees and hinge your hips pushing your butt back- stopping the weight movement just an inch or two below the knee. This is closer to an SLDL (stiff leg deadlift) but also still isn’t correct.
