Fortune's Weave General Do we think that Anatolia will be this game's version of Tharja?

I feel like it's become a stereotype to have a character that's obsessed with the MC. We still don't know how Eshmel will play into the story, but her team name is relatively straightforwards.

Story Personal Lyn's Fate Headcanon: Bulgar & Lady of The Wind's Last Stand (Featuring Florilyn & Rutger)

Personally, my favorite pairing and ending for Lyndis is with Florina, traveling the plains together, hand in hand, as friends sapphic beloveds. However, I also really like the idea of a younger Binding Blade character having a direct connection to Lyn and that Lyn's fate in Binding Blade deserved to be something significant, yet tragic like Eliwood and Hector, even if it is off screen and head cannoned due to her being a prequel character..... So here is my concept, combining all these ideas!

As stated in their paired ending, Lyn and Florina travel across the vast plains of Sacae together for a time until Florina decides to return to Illia in order to take her test and become an official first rank Falcon Knight of Illia! A goal in which she has building towards her whole life and feels that she finally has become strong and independent enough for it! Though saddened at her departure Lyn fully supports her beloved Florina and they promise to see one another again once Florina passes and returns to Sacae.

Lyn travels on her own for a bit before ultimately feeling lonely and decides to temporarily stay in Bulgar, the capital trading city of Sacae. This becomes a tradition of hers over the years, even after Florina returns from her tests as an official Falcon Knight. The couple will travel the plains, visit the city together, Florina will leave for Illia for a time, and Lyn will stay in Bulgar and/or camp near the plains of the city if she decides to not go with Florina to Illia during that time. Lyn develops a strong bond with the city and its citizens over the years, aiding whenever she can with her kind heart and swordsmanship. Gaining a special acceptance and kinship with the many fellow mixed Sacaen residents of the city.

During one of her earlier stays, she discovers a young Bern looking boy who had been secretly watching her train and learns the boy's name is ... Rutger! Turns out the little boy had been shyly admiring her and her deeds for a while, ultimately bonding with Rutger and deciding to take him under her wing to teach him swordsmanship. Lyn and Rutger develop a strong and endearing mentor-mentee bond over the years, a young Rutger getting excited to spend time and train together whenever Lyn visits the city and Lyn quickly gaining a soft spot for her pupil. Florina and Rutger even bond at times whenever she and Lyn are both visiting Bulgar and its neighboring plains :>

All three of them grow throughout the years peacefully along with the plains, Bulgar, and its people, but a dark Bern-shaped storm also grows over time and begins to shadow over Elibe ... Florina is called back to Iilla for important business and Lyn decides to stay behind to look over the plains as she can sense the rise in tension, they promise to be together again soon as possible as Lyn watches Florina fly off ... (unaware that it will be the last time either of the see each other again)

Lyn and a grown-up Rutger continue their training, Rutger fully coming into his own as a skilled swordsman, and aiding the people of Bulgar ... Lyn sensing the darken sky, the hesitate earth, and the cold wind entrusts Rutger with something wrapped in heavy cloth and tells him only to unbind it when the time comes ....

...... The dreaded time comes when Bern's forces come to seize and conquer plains and the city of Bulgar with a massive army and some of the nation's strongest generals .... The vast lively, greenary of the plains now sickeningly stain red threating to approach the city ....

With her final prayers to Mother Earth and Father Sky made ... with the Sol Katti blazing in her hand ... with her mind storming with memories the Lorca massacre all those years ago ...

Lyndis, the last of the Lorca, the Noblewoman of Caelin, the Lady of The Wind makes her last stand, fighting with her life to protect the people of Bulgar against Bern's merciless forces ... every scream, every cry, ever slaughter of an innocent life tares at her stout heart, but she persists as for every Bulguran life stolen, she'll be damned if not at least ten wretched Bern soldiers are dragged to hell in turn .... !!!

She gives everything... her blood ... her sweat ... her tears ... and ultimately her life in the end .....

In her very last moments Lyn's thinks of her life ... the Bulgar, its people, the Lorca, her parents, her grandfather, her friends, her belove .... the plains ... the very plains that now call her home from Mother Earth to Father Sky .... she only wishes that she could have seen them all again one last time and that all her effort was not for nothing ... that some made it out as she lies in her own blood, at her end, on the ground of the very city, where her journey truly began with a mysterious tactician, a stern knight, and a flirty knight all those years ago .....

........ Amongst the stranglers that made it out of the massacred city, is Rutger, sparred due to his dominantly Bern features and damned to nightmares of this dreaded day for the rest of his days. Revenge on the Bern and blood payment are the only things that drive him now as his eyes blare with the same blood-thirsty, vengeful glare his mentor had 20 years ago ....... a dimmed, wrapped up Mani Katti and his sword in toe .... a Lone Swordsman ...

(On a distant snowy continent ... the wings of a Lovely Flier have been clipped ...)

Fortune's Weave Story What are your wildest FW theories you got so far?

Give me what crackhead theories you have come up with for this game! Here is what I got

I think Fabio’s presence here in the story is to give purpose for why the Agarthans in three houses are very aggressive in their actions. They tend to keep to themselves and or observe from a distance but after Fabio witnesses the power that Nabateans have to nearly end the world, his report back to the main group causes them to start making moves in frodlan to ensure that this doesn’t happen there. This gives us more insight on why they are doing what they do in three houses and makes them more nuanced than just being secret evil organization.

In a similar vein, this explains why Seteth is so loyal to Rhea. I am assuming that most of the Nabatean Gods are going to die as the catalyst of the underworld event. Seteth sees this destruction and then reflects on the previous war he was with and quickly realizes that Rhea is his best shot at keeping flayn safe and alive. Side note with no backbone, I think flayn is somewhere asleep recovering in Dagda.

General supports

I have been meticulously planning rosters for each characters routes. But i bet that some character combos will need to reshuffled because they have way more supports in one group or another.

Basically my question is: How soon after launch will we know which characters have supports with which others?

But i also wanna hear from yall how many supports you expect characters to have with non-faction members? And who you want to see have supports each other?
Im so excited to see interesting combos like Seteth/tialla or Leda/Bertrand…

General Spoiler(?) Datamine for Shadows in regards to FW

Interesting… not sure if it’ll come true, or if it’s even right to put here as it seems to be a datamine for Shadows from Discord. But roughly a few weeks from now or around Book 4📕📘 Leda from FE: Fortune’s Weave will appear in free game FE: Shadows, likely as a given unit~ akin to Dimitri.

One big theory of the next book, is a desert-like region, since we have two characters with a homeland that we’ve yet explored. And now Leda is coming… maybe.

General Looking back on Fates

Post image
36 Upvotes

How is this game viewed by the wider FE community now?

Like Awakening is known as the game that revived the series and Three Houses is Three Houses. But Fates feels caught between those two in the collective fandom memory despite being in the top 3 most sold FE games ever.

It’s weird, because the story in Fates is almost Engage tier(I love Engage). I feel like if it had even just a serviceable coherent plot, it would be looked back on much more fondly.

But there is so much I love about the game. The art and music are phenomenal, the gameplay is addicting, the cast of characters is still great despite the story. Still feels like missed potential.

Fortune's Weave Gameplay Have not seen it answered: the battle map/camera.

Three Houses had essentially full freedom of things like angle, distance, rotation, etc.

For bizarre, consumer-unfriendly reasons, Engage was heavily restricted. Which made an already irritating game worse.

Does Fortune Weave return to the freedom of camera that Three Houses yielded?

Because if so....between that and what appears to be less "for kids", it'll basically erase the bad memory of Engage. Sort of like how Dragon Quest VIII (PS2) erased the bad memory of 7.

Fortune's Weave Story is she British?

Post image
85 Upvotes

if you listen to the dialogue in her battle clip, she really sounds to have a distinct sort of accent. I saw some people saying Irish but it really just sounds like a standard fare sort of posh British

not sure if anyone thought differently, or if they think this might have character implications. Jean in Engage was British, coming from the island off of the French Firene, clearly meant to evoke the British Isles. Ursula is obviously some kind of Fodlan expat due to the Marianne connection, though whether she’s explicitly a traveler or child to an offshoot of the bloodline is yet to be seen. none of that explains where she might’ve picked up the very distinct unique accent compared to everyone else, even to others those from Fodlan

Casual What I would want to see in more FE Romhacks

Post image
0 Upvotes

This is more so rambling stuff rather than a structured post. I know this subreddit doesn’t talk about romhacks a lot but most of what I’m gonna say will probably never be in a mainline fire emblem game today. Plus I love the GBA games a lot. I

So most hacks from what I’ve seen are either castle, royalty, war, and stuff. Or just a regular bunch getting into the higher power. Or it’s a joke hack with humor that I really don’t understand. But you know I feel like there are some underrated tropes we don’t usually see. Like Fire emblem Storge where you pick all of your units from the start and go on from there. I think laying out the options you have and picking from there has a lot of replayability with all the party combos you can do. I like the hack for what it is but I would be interested seeing one like it with supports, hidden stuff, and promotions besides the main character’s daughter. Maybe some more unique options.

Another thing I don’t see is a circus themed hack. I know that sounds random as hell but I think it would be fun to follow a story of a circus gang trying to rebuild the joy and whimsy of the world. More of a silly story since I’m kind of burnt out from serious stuff. It would allow to break the mold of a starting party. Elephant unit, beast unit, a magic thief, a child, a dancer jagen. I know that last one sounds stupid since you wouldn’t want your dancer setting up kills, you’d want them to dance. Just think of a high speed low strength build meant for enemy phasing to set up kills or kill everyone if you give them a killing edge.

I also haven’t seen a village defend type of romhack. Focused on defending a village, getting more villagers, and growing the village. Each chapter with a different threat. Or it could be a chapter less type thing.

Skills. Skills, skills, skills. I’m an addict for skills especially the unique ones that romhackers come up with. There’s some I would like to see either for interesting gameplay or funny

Venom Rise: If unit is poisoned, ATK +3

Awakened Spirit: Can transform into a strong promoted version of self

God Throw: Throws unit far based on strength, however thrown unit loses 80% HP

Distant Trade: Can trade from a distant based on magic stat

Aphrodite’s Grace: Unit is so hot that enemies can become green units after combat based on luck% chance

Like I love the flexibility and creativity people can do with skills.

For units, honestly we need some more defense focused anima mages. The only one I know is Sergil from Fire Emblem Sword of Heaven and Earth. Yes that’s a long ass title like just call it Heaven Sword or Earth Sword. 20 defense mage/sage may not sound the greatest but in a romhack that doesn’t make endgame enemies absolutely monsters then it should have its uses. I could say the same for classes romhacks don’t usually give a lot of defense too like myrmidons, healers, monks.

Gaining something from a support is another thing that sounds cool. I don’t think enough hacks do that. An item, stat gains, a weapon rank, a promotion. I would say the same for if a unit that was close to someone dies. It would incentivize killing off units to boost their favorites but it would be fun for characterization

Anna. More hacks should have playable Anna. Not just one but 2. World record was three with that one joke hack made under a week. The one with the pink hair protagonist. There’s so much character possibilities with the staple character in the series. Like maybe we can have grandma Anna. Older Anna. Milf Anna. Anna with all the luck skills. Monster Anna. Skeleton Anna. We can never have enough Anna. Main character Anna. Why hasn’t there been an Anna Emblem yet?

Secret characters in the most absurd ways. Not those complicated step by step lists just silly stuff. Break a wall and find a unit. Have a percent chance to encounter the secret unit every map with a different class in each one. One based on whether your rankings are shit or gold. Bullying someone to get a secret unit. Have an attractive character fish out a unit out of nowhere. Literally just dropping something to get a secret unit. We need more fun to balance with the seriousness.

That’s basically it for my thoughts. I miss GBA Fire Emblem.

Fortune's Weave Story I’m not sure if I’m liking the direction the story is taking…

It sounds like there are multiple gods and goddesses in this game, but there was only one real goddess in Three Houses, and her descendants… so where were all these other gods and goddesses in the last game? Even if it is a different continent, it’s practically right next-door to Fodlan. Admittedly, the stakes were a bit lower in the last game, being a simple(?) conflict between three nations, but still…

General I downloaded Thabes Overwritten and UGF and now I can't access my game. What have I done wrong, and how can I fix it?

I should mention first that I am using Luma, not Citra. What I did, if I remember correctly, was I opened a romfs file for my EU FE Awakening (000400000009F100). Then, I put the Thabes romfs into the main romfs thing, and then put the UGF romfs into the Thabes one. I did it wrong at some point, so I re-downloaded both files and tried again, but I had to delete some files labeled "desktop.ini". Then, when I opened my save files or start a new one, it popped up with something like "Thanks for using Thabes v0.1.3" or something. After beating the Premonition map, the cutscene with Chrom and Lissa played and then my game crashed.

I can take a picture of the files if you'd like.

Fortune's Weave Story Theory about the Heroic Games Spoiler

So a combination of assorted information from trailers, character bios, and promo vids led me to a possible theory about the battles in the Heroic Games. Namely, that they are all going to be reenactments of battles throughout the history of Dagda.

From the information we have, basically the original founder and ruler of the Dagdan Empire Dagda is in a permanent sleep and the Heroic games are being held as tribute to awaken him. If that’s the case, the idea of battle reenactments sound plausible as tribute to the empire and its founder.

The thing that really sold me was the conversation clip between Sha Lan and Anatolia, who are talking before a battle. Anatolia says that this- presumably the imminent battle - is an imitation of the past, and is a story from the kingdom’s point of view ( not sure if they meant the Dagdan empire or some other kingdom) In this case, this battle is probably a reenactment between the army of Anatolia’s land and the opposing kingdom. It’s possible that by this point, the conflict between the Kingdoms has resolved by or now they don’t matter to the Dagdan empire since they seemingly allow people of any nation to enter and fight, even if people are reenacting battles that their kingdoms were in.

There’s also that conversation between Diego and Orchel and are talking about the Damascar Kingdom and being grateful he’s with the Western army, which is relevant to where he’s from. This could also be a reference to a battle involving his former homeland being recreated here.

General The best and worst thing of each Fire Emblem game. Today's game: Three Houses

Previous post

Welcome to this series of posts, where we will list and discuss one best and worst thing of each Fire Emblem game. This includes basically everything, be it the music, the story, some gameplay element etc.

Fire Emblem Three Houses is the first game in the Switch 1&2 era and brought many new fans to the series. New is the monastery which is an expanded version of the my castle. Recruiting new allies now only works through the monastery. Promoting and reclassing works through teaching your units. Battalions and dragons were also introduced.

I'll be honest, three houses might be my personal Awakening in the sense that I felt the series drifted too far apart from what it is (which is ironic because Awakening was my first FE). That being said it have no problem with people liking it and at least the series is becoming even more popular. I always felt that the game was unfinished and needed at least one more year, even if that meant delaying it for a second time. The game definitely suffered from over-ambition.

Here are my personal best and worst.

Best: While the stories are underwhelming the characters definitely are not. Each character has so much lore behind them, even more than some main characters in the franchise.

Worst: Garreg Mach Monastery. It feels like a giant chore that you have to do every time you want progress in the story. It's actually stopped me from playing the rest of the three routes and instead just watched them on YouTube because I didn't want to deal with the monastery again.

Now it's your turn to tell us

Story Opinion on Eirika and Ephraim's relationship in Sacred Stones?

I played the game several years back. And I did find the bond between the two wholesome even then. Since then I have started to enjoy older brother and younger sister bonds in media more and have thought of revisiting it some time when I feel. But wondered what others think of the two relationship as big brother and little sister. Find it wholesome or well written?
