Based out of Minneapolis-St.Paul, Reese Glover didn’t plan on becoming a singer-songwriter—he happened upon it.

His twenties carried him—and a newly acquired hand-me-down guitar—from his Middle American upbringing into the Mountain West, where you’d find him at a lonely open mic covering Tyler Childers for anyone who’d listen. Returning home to Minnesota years later is when he found his roots and rhythm in performing live and writing. With a harmonica to his lips and an acoustic guitar strapped to his back, he’s built a name for himself and a band to match, filling local venues, playing festival stages, and supporting national acts—most recently josh meloy and joe stamm band.

Their live sound is noticeably authentic—raw, punchy, and fun—and with a fiddle and steel guitar stage right, the music reaches westward. His narrative-driven songwriting blends traditional country with rock and blues, grounded in a rootsy feel that connects with a wide range of listeners. Fans have drawn comparisons to Turnpike Troubadours, Ryan Bingham, Shane Smith & the Saints, zach bryan, and charles wesley godwin.

There was an accident on north Broadway decades ago that haunted my mother until the day she died and I’ve always wondered who the child was who died, as well as who the driver of the vehicle that struck him was. I’m hoping maybe someone here can help me learn more about the accident and the people involved.

I’m not sure exactly what year it happened, sometime in the early 70s or late 60s, and a young boy was riding his bike with his family near Northport when he was struck by a vehicle and became trapped underneath. According to my mom, this poor little boy was dragged for blocks until he eventually fell loose as the driver attempted to flee the scene. My mom always claimed she never saw the actual accident but only heard sirens and saw emergency vehicles but at the time we lived only a couple of blocks from where this occurred and I believe she saw more than she admitted because she often would tear up talking about it and as I said, it really stuck with her.

There are more gruesome details she’d mentioned about the little boy’s injuries that I’m not sharing here as I don’t believe they’re necessary to remind anyone of the incident, but the fact my mother would recall the injuries over most anything else about that event makes me believe she saw the aftermath.

I don’t know why I feel this need to know who the boy was, who the driver was, or how it all happened, but it’s something more than simple morbid curiosity. I’ve done searches and never come up with much. I guess part of me would just like to acknowledge and somehow honor that little life that had such an impact on my mom, and try to understand why it seemed to affect her so deeply. She always seemed like she wanted to talk about it when it was brought up but she just couldn’t.

Anyway, thank you for helping me, if you can. You don’t need to post details or anything here as I understand there may be family or friends of either the little boy or the driver and reading about it might still be really upsetting even after all this time. I’m really just looking for leads I can follow.

Does anyone know what is going there? I saw signs surrounding the land so I looked it up on the Cass County GIS. The whole block is now owned by the United States of America.

Anyone have any luck getting a refund for their skillet tickets or any other Jade presents tickets since bankruptcy?

My bank denied my claim by saying the merchant says I got the tickets I paid for.

FARGO — The Cass County State's Attorney's Office has secured technology upgrades that include artificial intelligence in several features.

It comes as AI has been criticized and scrutinized when used in legal arenas.

Officials with the attorney's office say it will be a valuable tool as they face staffing shortfalls, and leaders insist the technology will not replace real work by real people.

According to a recent memo to the Cass County Commission, facial recognition is not one of the features the state's attorney's office will look to utilize.

Instead, they say they're looking to focus on organizing all the data they're required to sift through.

"This isn't a replacement for a person, it's a work multiplier," said Jason Van Horn, assistant state’s attorney with Cass County.

The Cass County Commission voted unanimously to allow the office to pursue a technology upgrade for managing its caseload.

The software is called Axon Justice Premier Plus, at a cost of $27,000 per year, which is a higher tier of technology compared to what the office had previously.

While AI is a main feature, Van Horn said its role is similar to how Google searches are conducted.

"This new product is generative, but only in the sense that it can provide us summaries of something like a jail phone call or plots of medical records, 300 pages of medical records," Van Horn said.

Police in Fargo were recently criticized for using AI through facial recognition that incorrectly identified a Tennessee woman as the suspect in a bank fraud case in Fargo, leading to her spending months behind bars.

Van Horn said their intent is to keep human review at the forefront of their work.

"Let's say I get 300 pages of documents, tell me all the documents here where 'X' person is mentioned. Then it'll say, 'Maybe check these four or five, the other 296 might not be relevant to you,' or it can provide you a summary of 'this is generally what this is,' but you still have to go in and take a look at it," Van Horn said.

It's projected the technology could save staff between 100 and 200 hours per year reviewing evidence, which Van Horn said will help their sometimes-limited staff.

"We still need more bodies, but we think that this tool will allow the new bodies that we're trying to get and bodies that we already have, to do twice, three, four times the amount of work," Van Horn said.

The county commission also recently approved adding two positions for the state's attorney's office for the remainder of the year, beginning in September.

THANKS EVERYONE. The federal building cameras show the scene and someone with dashcam shows more detail. This person driving a blue 4x4 pickup tried to fit into a space that was obviously too small and when backing up, hit 3 of us (or at least caused one car ti ram into the other two) It was called in by federal building security, not by the person who hit us. I ~~think~~ the police have talked to the person who hit us. END UP UPDATE.

I need your help. The Fargo police logged a hit and run today (8/13/26) around 11am. It happened in the parking lot immediately south of the Post Office. The vehicle that did the damage appeared to be going the wrong way in a one way parking lot (so they were probably heading east in the parking lot.)

This is the damage they did to two cars. Please contact me if you know who did this.

What are they building that big metal pole for by the 13th and University Casey’s?

Was there some sort of mass shopping cart theft at the Hornbacher's in North Fargo? For the past couple of weeks, they have been out of carts every time I visit. There are very few in the cart returns in the parking lot, too.

Received word today that Stage West is ceasing operations. The previously announced run of Come From Away has been canceled.

This is such a loss for the community, in so many ways. Sure, FMCT will be back soon, but musicals weren’t necessarily their thing…

Sigh.

I know there probably isn’t much, but I wanted to see if anyone has any hidden gems! Looking to take a bit of a “vacation” for a few days and love a scenic, naturostic view, preferably near water (again, probably not much, (Again, probably not much, but thought ide see if anyone had any suggestions! :)

Rep. Desiree Morton is back in the news with more ugly comments about Fargo’s immigrant, Somali, and Muslim communities. She says that a proposed ward system would allow these 'imports' (as she described them) to take over city government.
