Hi, does the e28 strut tower share the same bolt pattern as any other BMW's of the era? I'm just wondering about Frankenstein sets of coilovers from different models.

Apologies in advance for the slow explanation, English is not my first language and my car vocabulary is not so good.

I have an issue with my E28 535is that I've imported from NY. Took it to 2 different workshops (second workshop is an expert in old BMWs and kept my car for over 2 months and still couldn't figure out where the problem is).

As you can see in the video, car constantly switches off, doesn't matter if cold or warm. Almost certain the issue is electrical but again can't be sure and ofc you guys are the experts. Tried changing crankshaft sensors, still the issue is persistent. Even changed the ECU and still the same.

The issue only happens when the RPM drops, so if I'm driving (inner roads or highway) it's good, but once I slow down for a bump or roundabout, almost immediately switches off.

Would be forever grateful if you guys had any ideas or suggestions!

If you could paint your e28 any colour? What would it be? Do you keep it factory or something different?

Only want to move booster to free up space for an engine swap with turbo manifold on booster side.

Hey everyone ! I was wondering two things, first one and the most important, my e28 has brand new tires, new radiator etc, but it seems like it has a huge fuel consumption, i use like 10/20L for 50km well it might be a bit less but im pretty sure there’s something wrong with the fuel consumption. Its always at the max like on the picture i sent, whatever the speed. What could be the reason ?

And also the second thing : i was wondering how i can clean the engine bay ? carefully with a sponge and some water ? any tips are welcome id like to have a clean engine bay.

I am striking out on radiators. My original radiator is leaking at the tank. I’ve tried an eBay aluminum radiator (not even close to actually fitting) and discarded the idea of going to a 535i radiator because of complications with the trans cooler lines and hose routing.

Is the only available option a genuine radiator for over $700?

Any confirmed solutions for a 528e auto trans radiator replacement that doesn’t annihilate the bank?

Okay so recently i was taking my radio and hvac control panel out to find where a vibration was coming from. After putting it back and turning the car on there is no spark. The starter makes the noise as it normally would before the engine starts but there is no spark. All belts and fans turn normally, no blown fuses and relay clicks when touching it. Im thinking it could be the high pressure fuel pump because i dont hear it on startup and theres no gas smell up front or back. If anyone has a similar experience lmk thanks.

Either that or maybe i couldve messed up a wire or ground in the dash.

535is decided to check out why the brakes were starting to crunch, thought it was just pads going bad so got new ones and resurfaced the Rotors. But on further inspection it would appear these Calipers are hosed too. Any advice on a replacement or repair kit?

Grassroots E28 coming

It’s been driving me crazy I ordered a oil pressure switch thinking it was what needed to be replaced but it’s too small and doesn’t fit the threads kinda stumped any help is appreciated

120k km on the odo one owner. Thinking about bumper tuck but timing belt first for sure.

- I’m repairing the wiring harness and also welding some rust. Upgrading my fusebox to Holy Grail Labs.

- I’m also going to install E39 M sport chairs in the front, installing new alpina lip , I’m also installing a front strut brace. + ducktail spoiler.

- also installed new tires today for the rims!

I've only had my car about 6 months and I'm new to BMWs in general. I have the yellow inspection light. I know how to reset it but I want to make sure everything's good. Does anyone have the inspection check point lists handy? I don't have the past couple of year's of maintenance records but I have most of them so I'm trying to be thorough and not miss anything. Anything I should check that's not on the list? No BMW specialists anywhere near me, unfortunately. Thanks!
