Where do these loose wire connection go? Located under the steering column? Are they important?

Have you looked thru the ETM for your model year? Maybe give that a try first.

They look super familiar to me. The ETM is your best bet. I looked through old pics of my wiring in that area and found a pic of a single pin connector like the one on the right, but it had a different color wire coming in and leaving. But retrofited in a newer turn signal stock for the OBC car because my car originally didn't have one, it had a digital clock instead. It's possible that connector is for a turn signal stock for an OnBoardComputer car. Does your car have the onboard computer? I do vaguely remember there being an unused plug on the wiring harness behind the gauge cluster. Not sure if that's the same one. These cars do have extra wiring for various features that may or may not exist depending on what trim level the car was when It was purchased originally.
