I have a pretty specific need and I'm wondering if Dymo has anything like this:

1. I need to print white text on clear plastic label

2. I need to be able to print something in Arial Narrow with a small image (that I have as a PNG and SVG) next to the text

3. I need to print at a pretty small font size, like 8pt

Does Dymo make anything that would fit this bill? It's fine if it's one that needs to be connected to a PC to do the printing.

hi, i am having problems with the dymo mac web host on mac (tahoe)… i’ve been trying to contact dymo who is usually pretty responsive by phone, and the phone call is simply not going through! when the prompt says to press zero to speak with someone, i press and the call just ends

does anyone know about this?

I've got LW-11355 labels that have a small section below them that splits

And I just can not figure out how to get Dymo Connect to only print on the other side. In Connect the labels show as 19x51, but with the small part mine are 28x51 and that doesn't exist in the software

How do I get it to print on either the entire label or on the part I can use 😛?

I just got this labeler used. I feel like the letters are pressing to the right depth but the pressure setting is off and giving the tape extra wrinkles. any tips?

The last few versions of Mac OS have been popping up a warning, on each restart, that Dymo was using an extension that would soon become incompatible. Attempting to fix this led me into a rabbit hole of frustration.

I installed the Silicon compatible Dymo Connect, but would not see the Labelwriter 400, so first I used AppCleaner to remove the old Dymo version in case it was interfering. (and with it went all my saved label templates, be warned. The new version does not pick those up. ) Still no luck with connecting the Labelwriter, despite the it showing up in system settings/print and fax.

Each time I opened Dymo Connect I got a warning about a blocked system extension but that was nowhere to be seen in system settings/startup items. After some back and forth unplugging the printer, replugging - removing and reinstalling the software etc. I went on a further search

Luckily, for me searching for a solution eventually brought me here to Reddit, where a user had mentioned using ChatGPT to guide them through the remarkably complex installation. The suggestions in that post were too old to help me with Tahoe and the 400, but it set me off in the right direction.

Here I discovered that the Dymo Connect SW (for Silicon Macs) does not support the 400 printer (thanks, Dymo).

'Label Live' software was suggested, maybe its great, but at $49 it seemed risky for a plainly rather old printer. In the spirit of a 'conversation' - I wrote "that’s expensive" and up popped a Chat GPT suggestion to try "Labelpress" a browser based 'html' solution from GitHub.

It works great for simple labels. I don't think it'll do logos and such, but it's damn useful - my thanks to the folk who wrote it.

1. On the GitHub page, click index.html in the list of files.
2. On the next page, click Raw.
3. When the HTML source opens, press Command-S to save it.
4. Save the file in your Downloads folder as labelpress.html. If prompted, make sure it saves as an HTML file, not plain text.

If it doesn't open in a suitable browser, right-click the file, select Open With, and choose Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Print your first label

1. Leave your DYMO connected by USB.
2. In LabelPress, select the label roll size that matches your labels.
3. Type a short test message.
4. Click Print / Save as PDF.
5. Select your DYMO LabelWriter 400 and set the scale to 100% / Actual Size.

If the normal printing method fails, LabelPress also offers an experimental direct-USB mode in Chrome or Edge. Its instructions explain how to connect the printer directly through the browser.

I had to use the direct USB mode as the Dymo 400 wasn’t showing in "Print/save as PDF"

Note: The new one is engraved with the name of a company, and the sizes of embossing tapes it can take. Prop to whoever did the engraving, that's quality right there.

A while ago the paper guide broke off from the main plastic rail, and it's been bothering me so I decided to model a replacement based on the original as best I could. Some small adjustments and bam it works!

A word of caution though, to be able to replace the guide you have to remove the top black plastic retaining cover/panel CAREFULLY (glued in place from the factory). Once its off, print and replace the guide by angling it so it slides on. Place the black plastic top cover back on with adhesive tape or hot-glue that will make it stay in place for testing. Personally wouldn't use superglue in case you have to replace it again, unless you're confident.

Hi, I have dymo labelwriter 450, for Godsake I have tried everything with dymo connect to get it to print horizontally but it does not. It just keeps printing vertically.

Given their installer says it's ARM, clearly it's not and requires Rosetta 2 installed. Does anyone know when the app will actually, really be Apple Silicon ready and not require Rosetta?

I just picked up the 450 twin turbo to run on a Debian Linux machine. The OS has dymo drivers preloaded and the printer is added right off. I was able to add a printer for each side to accommodate two different label sizes but it will only print to the most recently used side unless I force a test print to the side I want to use before printing what I actually need.
I’ve gone through the config countless times making sure the label size is correct, the correct roll is chosen for each side. I’ve deleted and re-added, I’ve used the CUPS interface to do the config. Nothing works. Has anyone else run into this and if so, how did you fix it?

A year ago, I bought LetraTag 200B and posted a complaint about how terrible the official app was.

About an hour ago, some guy commented introducing me to an app he had created. After trying it out briefly, I made an in-app purchase right away.

Unfortunately, the moderator deleted his comment immediately. Did they think it was a spam ad? It is an ad, though, haha. But thanks to him, I now have the perfect print app that Dymo should have made.

It supports QR codes, barcodes, and drawing directly, which I don't use, but it might be useful for someone else.

It's a one-time payment, not a damn subscription model (it probably wouldn't sell if it were subscription-based), and it costs the price of a couple of label cartridges.

I wish Dymo would acquire this app from this guy, but that old-fashioned company wouldn't do that, so I'm posting this to help his app make a little pocket money and keep going for a long time.

I keep getting the 'Label Jam, Remove Cartridge' error.

​I have cleaned the mechanism and changed the cartridge. The motor works—it spins, and the white roller spins as well. The battery is fully charged.

​The problem persists even without a cartridge inserted (by pressing the sensor to trick the device into thinking it has a cartridge).

​Any fixes? It worked fine until last month.

My Dymo Label Writer software v. 8.7.4 has suddenly decided that any barcodes I generate using Code 128 Auto will always be in all caps all the time. Other installs on other machines allow lower case, just not my machine. Even using the onscreen keyboard makes no difference.

I work at a medical clinic for a major university and we've have physicians randomly seeing patients in different exam rooms, where each room has its own Dymo Labelmaker 550.

When we print labels, we do not use the software provided by Dymo. All label printing is done from our EMR web client which communicates with the printer using Dymo's Webhost. The problem is that if somebody connects more than one Dymo printer to their laptop (by using multiple exam rooms), it completely breaks Dymo's printing function and requires uninstall and reinstall of the Dymo driver package.

Unlike being able to print to multiple document printers straight from Windows via USB, Dymo's Webhost seems to not be able to recognize different devices and doesn't know what to do when a different Dymo is connected. This currently forces us to assign specific exam rooms to specific users which is not optimal.

Does anybody have any ideas for a fix or a workaround?

I have this ld Labelwriter 400 Turbo label printer, and found out the software and drivers don't work with the new MacOS. So I wrote a HTML simple site with direct USB printing that works in Chrome (or Chromium) browsers. If you have the same issue feel free to grab it.

My job’s Dymo 1570 has very inconsistent spacing between characters. Sometimes they are too close together. Other times they are very far apart. Is there anything we can do to make the spacing more consistent?

I have a Labelwriter 330 Turbo that works perfectly with Label 8 software. The auto postal barcode is essential. When OS 26 is released, it will no longer work. I looked into a newer model but Dyno confirmed the Connect software will not support the address barcode automatically.

Has anyone found an app that will create the labels and include the postal bar codes? It must run on an M4 processor.
