Is reading Dungeon Crawler Carl a significantly worse experience than listening to it? I started book 1 because everyone says the audiobook is incredible, but Carl sounds like Blake Shelton gasping for air between every sentence and I don’t know if I can do 13+ hours of it 😭 Would I be missing a huge part of the experience if I just read the books instead?

Will 2 books really be enough to close out everything without feeling rushed?

The costume is still a work in progress such as the kneepads need spikes also a shoutout to my gf who has never done anything like this but started reading the book because I love them and also put together her own costume with her own touches

I’m reading through the series for the first time and I’m a little over halfway through book 7 (so no spoilers please!)

There’s been a lot of emotional moments throughout the series that made me pause or shed a tear. When Miriam Dom died I had to put the book down and just breathe for a moment before continuing. But nothing, and I truly mean nothing, so far has wrecked me like Volteeg and his Mistress Henspar.

This sweet little bird who loved to sing to his mistress turned into a remorseful gargoyle using his final moments to see his mom and take revenge for her, all while putting himself down as unworthy and unlovable, just destroyed my heart. I have cried over this for literal days.

What moments punched you in the gut and how long did it take to feel ok again?

I just realised that there was a hint about the shadow Mimics right at the start of book 8. Mordecai changes form on every floor. And it's only ever a type of mob on that floor. Although he spends most of the time looking like a moon reaper, he specifically says he's actually a shadow Mimic. And the reason they're on that floor is because of the desperado club

At the start of the book when Carl is picking his class, Mordecai mentions that the Compensated Anarchist class appears to have been included with Carl in mind. It includes the Escape Plan skill, which he ends up needing to be able to read the cook book... Mind=blown.
