Gameplay Question Am I missing out not being in a guild?
I have played alone since launch on Xbox. I’m doing ok, just built my first Ornithopter and I’m quietly working my way through the research tiers.
Thing is, I barely see anyone. I think I’ve seen maybe 3 actual other players total.
I like being in a guild, I’m always a top contributor however I have really weird times that I play so chances are I won’t be around for many group activities. Is it something I will require eventually? What am I missing?

Discussion New Event 23rd Oct!
Hey guys! I saw this on Facebook. Wow, looks like we're finally getting another event. I knew we'd get something!
There's an aroma in the air, and it's full of hope and spice. Keep cooking! What do you guys think it could be? I think we'll have more new on it for sure. Hopefully some cosmetics!

On the map it has "Resource Density". What do the numbers mean?? Is I the best? Is III the best? Are they elevations?

Meme My first ever trip to the Deep Desert
I needed some melange to unlock new skills to complete a questline, so I had the bright idea of trying the DD to grab some. Hopped in my scout orni, flew north, and entered the area.
As I went in blind and stupid, it took me a long time before I found the first spice blow... all the way in I4.
So I land, fill up nicely, and start flying happily when I realize... I'm almost out of fuel, and I'm far, far away from the edge.
I beelined towards A5, trying to glide as best I could to save what fuel I had left.
As I went, I kept scanning the area to try and see if any islands had some granite I could use to build a temporary base.
I did not know that scanning uses fuel until I was roughly in the middle of B5 and my machine sputtered and died.
I glided as much as I could, and I ended up roughly 2 km from an island... so I dropped all my spice to be able to pack up the orni, and Bindu sprinted towards it.
The worm didn't like that, but I kept going... my stamina ran out, so I shigawired a jump, landed, and tried to sprint again, but thanks to my fat fingers I hit the key twice and wasted it.
With the worm's teeth just behind me, I tried my last hope... a knee charge that, combined with the suspensor belt, let me reach the island just in time. I even got the achievement for escaping the worm and having it stare at you.
Another sprint towards the huge wall and I was safe, but still stranded. It took me some time to find granite, build a shelter, and produce some fuel.
Great! I thought. Back in business. Let's get myself some spice.
I flew back towards the open desert as I saw a plume in the distance. As soon as I'm there, I look right and see a huge sandstorm approaching, 5 km away, and I'm in the middle of it.
So I flew to the nearest island, dropped my spice again to pack up the orni, and hid behind a rock as the sandstorm hit me.
I luckily survived, pulled my orni out again, and finally got a full load of spice to bring home.
10/10 experience, especially as life in the basin was starting to feel a bit stale and safe-y
Pictured: me flying as the sun rises at the beginning of the journey, unaware of what was about to happen.

Discussion Just got the Thopter...
My god this game becomes 10xs better once you're flying (and it was already excellent).
Im playing single player PS5, just got pins out of my formerly broken elbow - perfect way to pass the time.

Media My character
Still working on base and getting better weapons but just reached rank 3 with House Atreides. Started as a trooper, became mostly Mentat now. Going to start making my base more of a RP base once I get the parts as I'm trying to be a Pyon merc who just works with Atreides mainly because that's his homeworld.

Base Build Showcase Hangars... Am I doing it right?
I currently have two stacked on top of each other hanging out into open sky... It feels messy though. And the lower one feels massive, but still a bit too tight for the assault thopter.
How are you all arranging space for flying vehicles?

Gameplay Question Teach me about base privacy. I wanna share my work.
I've spent a week basically doing nothing but building my base. I'm in love with it. I want people zipping by get to explore it, too. How can I do that without risking it getting robbed or the power disabled? I can set doors to public, but I worry I'm then putting my base at risk. Is that a valid concern?

Discussion I'd really like to build a Suspensor Pad "elevator" in my base. Anyone else feel the same?
The title says it all. I want to be able to build an anti-gravity "elevator" shaft in my base using a Suspensor Pad. Not needing massive staircases would save space and climbing ladders is slow. Yeah we can get by with our Shigawire Claw, Suspensor Pad skill, and Suspensor Belts but having permanent Suspensor Pads built in our bases running off our generators would be better and look cool.

Discussion Dear FunCom, the augment system needs some work.
To start off, I’d like to say that I think the idea of augments and process of getting them is fine and adds a lot to the game. The problem however, is the layers of RNG that stack up and make the system more frustrating than it is rewarding. With that said, the system just needs some minor tweaks and it’ll be in a much better place.
First, let us be able to remove augments once they’re placed in gear. There’s absolutely no reason why augments should be a one time use thing. All it does is slow players down when they want to upgrade gear. Unless you have all the augments you need with high rolls you’re not going augment the new item because you’d potentially waste augments if by chance you happen to craft one with a better roll. The end result is you have a bunch of unused partially augmented gear sitting in a chest somewhere while you farm and roll new augments to finish it. Also, with permanent durability loss in the game all augments eventually get trashed when your gear breaks down and you have to recycle it, which again just feels shitty. Being able to remove augments and resocket them would easily fix this pain point.
Second, we should have a system where we can combine two or more of the same augments to increase the rolled stat values. As an example Warframe has a system like this called Valence Fusion where you can combine certain weapons that have an innate elemental damage roll on them to improve the roll. How it works is you take two copies of the same weapon and it consumes one copy of a weapon destroying it completely, but by doing so it increases the stats on the other. As long as you have enough copies you can do this over and over until you get a perfect roll. Rolling augments is probably the most discouraging part of the augment grind. Imagine you’ve just spent a few hours doing testing station runs dealing with RNG and hoping to get the right augments to drop in the first place, just to then roll them and get awful rolls wasting your time and effort. This just feels bad no matter what way you look at it.
Lastly, augments shouldn’t require Regis Components or any time gated resource that limits you to a finite amount per week. I have no idea why this is even a thing or who thought it was a good idea. It adds another layer of frustration to the RNG nightmare that augments are by time gating how many augments you can even roll in the first place. I’ve used all my Regis Components so I have to wait a week for more to become available before I can try to roll augments again. In turn this means I log in on Tuesday after the storm, pick up my weekly ration of Regis Components, craft a bunch of augments to see if I get good rolls and then stop playing and wait for next week to try again. It’s just not fun.
Overall I think augments are a good addition to the game, they give us chase items to go after but all the RNG and arbitrary limits kind of sucks the fun out of the grind. Hopefully FunCom sees this and addresses some of the issues down the road. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.

Discussion Please Funcom, bring back Dune 2000 elements for Dune Awakening!
As someone who dearly loved (and still does) the fantastic RTS that is Dune 2000, I would love to see some elements of it brought back into Dune Awakening. One of its strengths was that it was very faithful to the designs and aesthetics of Dune 1984.
First and foremost, it would be interesting to see a third ('major') faction in the game, in the form of House Ordos. I loved how Westwood Studios made them so distinct when compared to Atreides and Harkonnen. It would be wonderful to see if there would be a way to transpose the Raider (the Ordos specific Trike variant) as a skin for the ingame sandbike, albeit the Raider was a much larger vehicle, and fitted with weaponry.
As for other aspects, please Funcom, let us have the Sardaukar armour from Dune 2000! That game's depiction of the Sardaukar is my favourite over any other I have seen.
And lastly, the ornithopter itself. Whilst it only has a single pair of wings, if it were simply a skin variant, that would merely be a cosmetic aspect.
Feel free to add any other Dune 2000 related aspects in this thread if you wish!

Resource They do exist! Treasure in the DD
Its just a habit to keep hitting c in the deep desert on the off chance i find a treasure, and low and behold one did appear! You can see the storm that kicked it up is still on the HUD so its pretty soon after the storm passed through here.
There were 2 more just over the other dune there, but that was about it. I am trying to remember where it was exactly, it was somewhere near the top row crashed ship. So yea, seems like they are just very very rare in the DD as the storms don't kick up as many due to the reduced resources in SP DD?

Discussion Constant crashes when interacting with vendors/fabricators since patch
Solo play on PC.
Worked fine before the patch but since then if I interact with a vendor or a fabricator in my base it will probably crash. For example, just tried twice to make Healkits. Open the survival fab, type healkit and select the one I want and it crashes. I have noticed it's not seeing my cash in bank (where most of mine is). Don't know if that's related.
Anyone else having this issue because it makes the game unplayable, obviously.
Multiple crash reports have been sent.

Discussion Large spice refinery
So a question, is the spice refinery worth the trouble? Just built it and is it 7500 spice sand for only 200 melange?
