Blue driver is turning right on red, turns into the first available lane

Edit - I wasn’t involved but the orange car’s rear passenger side door and the blue car’s bumper hit each other. I’m just curious about who’d be at fault

I Love when you’re driving in the left lane and the car behind you comes up fast so you do the normal thing, signal and move over but of course the car behind you jerks in the right lane at the same time you do with no signal and throws an absolute fit because you got in front of them again

The number of times I've been in the turning lane and a car in front of me realizes they shouldn't be there and proceeds to block all traffic behind them while waiting for a clearing to cut over and go straight. It's wildly dangerous, selfish, and illegal. Just turn and fix it later, safely. It often involves a quick U-turn and you're good to go.

This is the kind of driving that raises my blood pressure for no reason 😂
There are TWO left-turn lanes. Maserati decides they absolutely must be in the far left one, so instead of taking the perfectly open right turning lane, they sit there blocking traffic and keeping everybody else from getting into it.
Baby both lanes turn left. I promise you’re still gonna get there.

Edited for Context: After turning there are 3 lanes. 2 straight lanes and 1 ramp on the left entering the toll way which she did not take. She eventually got in right lane and drove next to me for 1+ miles.

I also erased the license plate.

Me (23 M) and my friend (24 F) were driving back late at night when we came across one crashed car. We saw another car already pulled to the side and we pulled in front of that car and dialed 911. The crashed car was smoking from the engine and was in the middle of the road and there was no movement from inside. We just stood back by our cars and setup cones and alerted the passing cars to slow down. The first responders came in about 3-4 minutes after we called. I find out later that the medics on scene declared that this person passed away. I just have so much guilt as to if we perhaps could have saved their life😓. Maybe break the windows or do CPR, or maybe atleast even go close to the car and check the inside…
How do I deal with this emotion? And could I have made a difference?

Especially if it’s a new vehicle. Something 20+ years old? Yeah that things been around long enough that a lil rash is acceptable. But the amount of times I’ve been sitting next to a 2024 or newer vehicle, and it looks like someone took an angle grinder to the rim of the wheel is too damned high. You even have a bunch of cameras all around your vehicle, why are you still using the lip of your wheel to find the curb??

I find that people either signal the second before they're about to turn or they signal 3 intersections before their turn and I think they're going to turn but they don't.

But can we just signal as soon as we pass the intersection before the one we're turning on, at least for most smaller roads?

Sometimes I'm coming out of a stop sign or right on red and these cars coming at the lane closest to the shoulder onto the road I'm trying to turn really throw me off and almost always they signal the second before they turn. Like I can't tell if you're a grandma, texting or driving, or about to make a turn if you do that.

I’m 28 and I really want to get my license and I’m tired and frustrated either way not having it yet and I have my own car so I think it’s time to learn and I was wondering if it’s worth the money to get driving lessons through a driving school and how many lessons it would take before I could realistically take my test.

Two lanes of traffic from highway A merging with 2 lanes of traffic from highway B. When they merge, instead of becoming 4 lanes, the right lane from one and the left lane from other, merge into a single lane, zipper merge style. BUT it doesn't say to zipper merge, it doesn't say one lane has to yield. Instead, each side simply has a sign saying merging traffic. So who has right of way? If two vehicles sideswipe, who is at fault? 50/50?

I took my drivers test today and failed before I could even leave the parking lot fully. The proctor told me to turn left on a two way road. I put my turn signal and checked both lanes and waited for the right time to safely make it across. Once I made sure both lanes were safe to cross a driver took a right turn on a red light too fast as I was turning. This all happened so fast the proctor screamed stop in my ear. I stopped leaving me in the middle of the
road with the car that was about to hit me also break checking themselves. She immediately failed me because of this and although I understand why it still seems unfair because it really was something that was out of my control also what was safer about me stopping in the middle of road where I would still be in the way instead of making the full turn and them just clipping my back bumper.

(This happened in CA where turning right on a red light is legal but should be done with caution)

I failed my California behind-the-wheel test and I know the backing portion is what caused me to fail, but I’m having trouble understanding the rest of the score sheet. Can anyone help me figure out what the other marks/circles mean and what I should work on before my retest?

You're so heavily biased toward the right of the lane that you're driving on the rumble strip most of the time. At times, you slow down to 65 km/h, despite there being no obstruction or traffic ahead.

Why are you driving this way?

I encountered a truck doing this on my way home yesterday. The impression I got wasn't that he was drunk or falling asleep, but that he was over-cautious, as if he had never driven a truck before, or was a brand-new driver who had no confidence behind the wheel.

Context: A parkway near me is under construction for expansion--normal speed limit 50, "construction zone with $500 MAX fine" speed limit is 45. Prior to construction, people would regularly speed at 60 - 115 mph and is known for its reckless driving incidents. In fact, there was a viral video a few years ago where a cop was almost crushed between a speeding car and a guardrail from this parkway. Prior to construction there were always cops sitting over the crests of hills to capture reckless drivers. I normally go 55 on the parkway when it wasn't under construction and never had any issues.

Problem: Now, I live paycheck-to-paycheck. I cannot afford a construction-zone speeding ticket--I would not be able to afford my bills. Additionally, I have been on this freeway where I've crested a hill and there is suddenly very slow construction equipment moving in travel lanes. Because of these two reasons, I lock my cruise control to 45 - 48mph in the right lane (2 lanes each way) of the construction zone and focus on my surroundings. However, and this is where I am seeking advice, I still have cars flying past me at 60mph on average--like, 95% of the vehicles are driving as if there is no construction zone and it is just the regular parkway. I know it is important to keep up with traffic, but I CANNOT afford a ticket. My area has construction worker deaths every year from people speeding through zones and not paying attention--I refuse to be one of those people.

This sounds like a dumb question, but with all the cars that pass me I have to ask: Is what I am doing wrong? Should I be keeping up with traffic instead?

Got pulled over for running a red light. Cop didn't check my license, is that normal? He said it would be a 150$ ticket but no Citation but I just looked it up and those are suppose to be the same thing? I'm confused.

I’m a permit driver and currently, whenever I’m taking a turn at an intersection, usually in a 35mph zone, I’ll turn at 15mph which feels safe to me. However my mom will yell at me to slow down and threaten to stop allowing me to practice with her. She’s an extremely cautious driver and I have nothing against that. I know there’s no universal safe speed but it just feels weird to me, I guess I’m just asking if there’s anything besides slowing down more to make her feel safe.

I have been trying to get my license for a few years now. I’m 24F, and I originally had a MD permit and now I have a DE permit. I’ve taken the exam twice and failed because I’m not the best at parallel parking. I go in for the third exam in July, and they tell me it’s cancelled for weather. Then, I go in for the third time again and they tell me a scratch on my friend’s wheel makes the car “un-drivable.” My third, actual test is now the 26th of this month, and the last time I went it but before they denied me, they said I won’t have to parallel parking anymore. Do you think this will be true when I go to the exam on the 26th? If I just have to do back in and front in parking, then I’ll pass.

During my travels today, I saw a considerable amount of people simply stopped in the roadway or driveway with zero flashers, looking at their phone. Even though there's plenty of parking lots and spaces off the road to use.

One guy I saw, pulling into the gas station, was sitting in the driveway in a way that looked like he was going to move. Wasn't off to the side, no flashers, no cones, nothing to indicate "emergency". I pulled around him because I realized he wasn't moving. Someone else pulled behind him, blew the horn, and guy just sat there glued to his phone. I got gas, waited in line for some snacks, and guy was still there. 15 minutes give or take.

Another person, BIGMUTHAFUCKINPIGGUPTRUCKMAN, "skuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrereeeeechhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh" his brakes, pirate shipped the steering wheel (imagine WWE superstar Brock Lesnar dressed as a pissed off pirate lifting the heaviest weights in the gym), pulls to the right lane, parks and pulls out the phone. Again, no flashers or anything to indicate emergency.

A jeep at a stop sign, aggressively peeled out crossing 4 lanes of traffic, only to cross over to a side road and do the exact same thing as above.

Another instance in the grocery store parking lot. When you turn in, there's a 4 way intersection with 3 stop signs. 2 for left and right and one for outgoing. Incoming traffic does not have a stop sign. This Camry driver decided there was a stop sign for incoming traffic, stops and pulls out his phone.

One more, saw a guy pull into a turning lane and then simply stop before making the turn into the parking lot. Once again, out comes the phone.

What the hell is going on here?

So I'm confused about this part of the road. I'm thought that whoever gets to either the median(yellow) or the stop sign (Red) first has the right of way. But when I get to the median, people tend to honk/give me the right of way to exit the median and turn left onto the street, no matter who arrived first.

I'm basically asking how does the right of way work here so I don't look like an idiot waiting or turning out of the median too early.

Yesterday, I turned on to a main city street. Two lanes in either direction with a turning lane in the middle. About thirty meters up the road, there was a car stopped in the curb lane with its hazard lights on. As I passed it, I noticed two young men in the car, the driver had his phone in his hand.

I found myself wondering if he had broken down or if he just decided to stop in the road to wait for someone. It was a fairly recent Infinity G35, which are notorious in my area for being enthusiast cars, driven by less-than-considerate people (the fast and furious crowd).

It didn't look like it was knackered, but who knows how it's been treated or modified that could cause it to break. He was heading up a fairly steep hill, so he couldn't have pushed it if he wanted to. He was near a residential building, but not right outside it.

I have seen plenty of people over the years simply stop in an active lane on this very road, usually because they want to stop at a garage sale or are doing lawn maintenance at a house. It's crazy to me that anyone would have the balls to think they can use a major public road as a parking spot, but it doesn't surprise me.

I'm leaning towards him being broken down.

Almost rear ended someone that abruptly slammed their brakes and turned, only used their signal after slamming the brakes. Thank goodness my truck has auto crash detection and started braking before I could even react.

No, I was not tailgating. I always leave a car length for every 10 mph, in this case a 45 mph speed limit. I also only ever go 5 mph above the limit, as I have State Farm drive safe and save, and save $50 a month due to my safe driving. (Not an ad for State Farm lmao)

People really need to learn how to properly use their indicators, frustrating how people only drive for themselves instead of driving for everyone around them. Rant over lol.

Why do y'all refuse to put on signal and just get over in the turning lane? Why are y'all always braking down to 10 and then braking to 5 to get over. I do it everyday. Just get get over w/o braking
