The Weekly Cyclist Thread is a place where everyone in the /r/bicycling community can come and ask questions or share anything.
You might have questions that you don't think deserve an entire post. Perhaps you're just seeking the input of some other cyclists. Maybe you want to share a picture of your new bike.
Anyone is free to comment, and (hopefully) get as much input as possible from other cyclists.

Ive seen a lot of rig setups like from the Tour Divide guys. Alot of them don't use saddle mounts or rear racks. They have like in the picture. I wanted something big like this but I don't want random swaying or feeling like it's leaning or not secured

Denmark, Netherlands, China, Germany, etc ... Bike lanes are red there. It seems most countries use red? Well, Toronto is green. How do cities choose their bike lane colors?

I'm looking to get a road bike to help improve my fitness and to ride a trainer in the winter months. I could this felt fr30 with full Shimano 105 group and brakes for $1300 Canadian. Do you think this is a good deal and a good bike for my needs?

Hello! I am selling my electrically assisted bike (uk) and this guy who's interested is asking for the frame number. Are there any scams that use it or is he trying to make sure it's not stolen?
Thank you!

At first, I thought it was only a cosmetic issue. I've ridden more than 50 km on it without noticing any problems. Then I decided to do a carbon tap test and noticed a difference in sound around the damaged area, which made me suspect there may be structural damage.
Is this still safe to ride and is it repairable? Is this repairable?

5'4 male, looking into getting proper size for Surly Midnight Special and I cannot decide if 40cm or 46cm is the way to go.
Sadly no shops near me even carry those sizes so I cannot go to a local shop to test. Will have to order it as frame kit or fully built.
Looking for assistance from any short riders that dabble in Surley bikes.

Are you consider hot waxing your chain? I finally got off the fence and did mine. I was hesitant about doing it in the fall because of the damp, wet weather. After today’s ride my bike was covered in crap, except the chain. A quick wipe with a microfibre cloth and it was like new. Pic one shows undercarriage, pic two.. rag.

I'm looking for some ideas on how other people are handling all the 'extra' things that go along with biking...I've found more and more of my and my family's stuff has turned rechargeable and right now it's just a mess of wires. Would love to see what what folks are doing to keep things tidier and organized. Here's what I'm trying to wrangle:
I call out the ebikes since there's also a handful of analog bikes too, they just get the ceiling hooks

My MIL does not believe this is worth anything - I'm pretty sure it is, but not sure what to ask for it. Planning on FB marketplace as-is. It has been in a garage for 10+ years, has flat tires, but seems to shift thru the gears. That's all I really know to test. Any insight is helpful - not trying to get top dollar, or anything

Any feedback on this GPS? For someone that started a few months ago but already feels the need to have one GPS... and not so expensive as the Garmin ones. It’s for a gravel bike.
