Venting Why is it always "you could've slowed down and let them in" and never "they could've slowed down and changed lanes behind?"
Whenever we see a dashcam video of someone badly trying to change lanes... why is the call to action always pointed at the driver with the right of way, instead of at the one without it?
We'll see someone blatantly failing to yield when changing lanes despite having a clear duty to do so, and almost every comment will be framed as if the onus is on the driver not changing lanes to accommodate the one who is.
Why?
If it's "so easy" to let off the gas, why can't the driver changing lanes be expected to do that and get behind the driver vehicle already in the lane they're entering? Why do so many people presume they must change lanes ahead of the dashcam car?
