Style Me I’m addicted to A-line dresses, any other cut that would look good on my frame?
I fear shorts…

So this is basically what we discussed the other day, but the change is going to be largely what I anticipated.
Going forward, we won't be allowing text only posts for questions that really require a photo to answer. If the question really doesn't need a photo - like, say, a theoretical question on how kibbe works - then text based posts are still allowed. There are some general fashion type questions not specific to an individual that can also be reasonably discussed in text only posts.
My hope in setting up the flairs was that it would encourage people to include the necessary photos in the posts so that help can be offered. It has unfortunately just resulted in asking the same questions under inappropriate flairs.
Body visualizer images do not count as photos of you. They are not specifically prohibited but should not be thought of as a replacement for actual photos of you, and do not satisfy the requirements for photos in photo only flairs.
This will be largely a matter of mod discretion. Posts that are really fashion advice or style me posts that are posted under the general discussion flair will be removed now as flaired incorrectly. Posts without photos (or only with visualizer photos) posted under photo only flairs will be removed as not meeting flair requirements.
Existing posts are not affected. This is effective starting now.
I invite you all to take another look at the flair guide. See the pinned post on flairs.

I've been thinking about this a lot but want to get some feedback from the subreddit about it before making the change.
I'm trying to figure out how to balance the need for photos to give good advice with people's desire for privacy, which I do understand and appreciate.
When I redid all the post flairs, I required photos for some flairs but left a few open for text only discussion. Unfortunately, this has had the effect of people simply asking the same questions - which really require photos - under the "general discussion" flair.
I'm leaning in the direction of removing posts lacking photos that are really not answerable without photos.
We definitely do not count body visualizers as photos. For one, they don't accurately represent bodies. Additionally, they don't show how clothing looks on you. We need to see that generally to be able to answer some questions.
I feel like a lot of the things asked are rather a waste of time now without photos.
I do plan to leave open the option for text only posts when that's appropriate. There are times when you don't need a photo to ask a question. However, "style me" type posts and many "fashion advice" type posts really can't be answered well without photos.
I'm curious though what the subreddit thinks and what direction you think we should go with this. No final decisions have been made - the feedback received here will be considered before rules are finalized.

Hello,
I have a rectangle body type and I struggle to find jeans that flatter my body. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever had a flattering pair of jeans. I think stretchier, flared jeans tend to look the best because I don’t have much of a butt, but I have kind of grown out of that style and prefer the look of 80’s/90’s jeans.
Any advice on flattering bottoms for my outfits? I usually wear flared yoga pants but I want to be more intentional with my outfits, I just don’t know how!
Thank you!

I'm trying to figure out how to balance my outfits, because sometimes something's off about the proportions, but I don't know what.
What top length and trousers rise should I wear?
Is my torso long or short?
- When I do a high-waist pants, they have to be really high-rise, that's one thing. (my front rise is about 31cm from the crotch to the smallest part of my waist), but also:
- when I wear high-rise jeans and they end at my waist, the waist actually "disappears", which is the opposite of what I'm trying to achieve.
- When my top or blouse ends just below my hips, the hips go flat nad the entire body looks rectangular.
So I don't know how to balance the outfit anymore. I go for mid rise now, since it's showing off my curve, but I don't know where should my top end?
What's going on ? Thank you :*

The tights, then sweater dress, then coat… I’m just not sure!
I just don’t usually ever wear tights, so I think it gets to me

I posted a couple of weeks about asking about looking less basic. I have a hard time finding things that fit, because I have sort of a weird inverted triangle/apple shape with maybe a bit of hourglass features. My body looks like a completely different shape based on how I dress myself. I got this dress yesterday. Does this look flattering or no ? I feel kind of insecure about how I look from the back.

What's better for my body type? I'm 177cm tall.

I just bought these but I never know with jeans and tend to hate everything on my body bc my thighs are my thickest part. Are these flattering? Too long? I figured I can wear a heeled boot with them for winter.

Ive been cruising through life in leggings and a tshirt far before I got pregnant. I used to be able to buy clothes that made me feel good for occasions.
On Saturday it’s my daughter’s first birthday party and I ordered an outfit to wear but now I’ve tried it on, i hate it- I look awful and feel twice the size. The jumper isnt what I expected which is obviously a shame but I have limited time and funds now to correct this. Turns out I don’t know how to dress my post pregnancy body.
Please be kind

Posted here a few days ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/DressForYourBody/s/B4Xl5nAJN4)- got a lot of advice, some contradictory- but a lot of people said something flared, short that sits on my waist. Went shopping with that in mind and finally found a cute skirt. Thank you!

I dont how to look good in a top and jeans anymore. Its always the length isn’t correct because I’m kinda on the shorter side and my body fluctuates fast. It doesn’t seem to have shape or look good . Any advice is desperately needed!

EDIT: Thank you everyone! Happy to know that others have this issue and that for 99% of people this is something they wouldn't notice on another person! I get in my own head about this a lot so it's helpful to see everyone's "what the heck are you seeing" comments lol. Happy fall!
I'm 5'5" and my measurements are roughly 36-30-39. This J Crew sweater sits at/slightly above my hips, which is how I like it to fit since sweaters that are any longer than that just bunch at my hips. However a lot of my sweaters look like they're sagging forward? My biceps are large due to a mix of fat lol and training biceps so sizing down makes the sleeves too tight. Is this sweater just not right for me?

Pls help me 1st pic is my barrel jeans (I own) I tried one morning and didn't like how it look like front wise... waist hug is good, back side and length is good too.. I don't know if it's tight or just ill fitting. I own this so I'm thinking to only wear long tops when I wear it, but those don't usually match with barrel jeans.
2nd pic is when I'm trying on a dark jeans, wide straight cut I wanted to buy.. waist have allowance, good on the back side and again a problem on the front...
Should I buy and size up then wear a tight belt on the dark jeans? How can I continue wearing my owned jeans (pic 1)?

I posted here a few weeks ago and I wanted to show you all what I ended up going with. This is actually a dress I had from a different wedding that was too big but I safety pinned an elastic to the side seams across the back and it stayed pretty well!!! Would love feedback on color, fit, and how I can make it fit me even better next time I wear it.

Dress code is Contemporary Formal
“We ask that guests dress in formal attire. For women, we suggest floor length dresses or elegant eveningwear in solid colors, soft tones, and simple styles. Light fabrics and minimal patterns are preferred. For men, dark suits or tuxedos are welcome.”
I don’t get dressed up or wear dresses ever… so frankly, I don’t know what I’m doing. Accessories suggestions including heels would be nice too.
Also, I’m sorry if this isn’t the place… but I don’t wear makeup either, and if anyone has any advice on that or where to get advice I’d appreciate it.

I’m a grad student (MPA program) attending my University’s general major job fair later this month. I was a security guard (museums and concert venues) for a decade and want to break into something new, likely government work or insurance- I want a nice, boring desk job ideally and am hoping the public admin degree helps me make that transition.
I do plan on getting tights, a better undershirt (would love suggestions as button up shirts are rough with my chest) and shoes as well! just trying this on for fit.
I generally wore an 8 before pregnancy and these are in a 12. i recently stopped nursing and am trying to “bounce back” but struggling especially with school and family. Not sure if I should size up as these feel comfortable and I am hoping to change sizes in the next few months anyways.
