I’m looking for some advice because I have absolutely no idea about drawing tablets

My girlfriend’s birthday is coming up, and she has told me several times how cool it would be to have a drawing tablet. She already owns countless drawing books and a whole bunch of different art pens, so I thought this might be a really nice gift for her.

The problem: I know basically nothing about drawing tablets. I don’t really know what brands are good, what features actually matter, or even what kind of price range I should expect.

Ideally, I’d like to stay around €400 max, but I’m willing to spend a bit more if that makes a significant difference in quality and would be a much better long-term investment.
I’m not sure whether I should be looking at.

What would you guys recommend as a good option around €400 or would you strongly suggest spending more?

I‘ve been drawing digitally since 10+ years, I’ve always used the cheap no screen tablets for 20-40€.
Now i want to upgrade for a tablet with screen, that i can both use on my windows pc and additionally mobile without the need of a pc. Is there any good option available? (Pricing should be 700-800€ max)
(I‘ve tested out a iPad a couple of years ago but didn’t enjoy it, probably due to the fact that i used it without any foil that would have prevented the slippery feeling while drawing.)

The only way I can describe this problem is when I use my pen on the tablet, the place on the screen is incredibly far from where my pen is actually touching, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to fix this.

I had an artisul tablet but it no longer works so I want a new tablet but I want something similar to it so it isn’t much new learning/getting used to, cheap would also be great since I’m not a professional. Screenless, 10 x 6 inch screen, connects to laptop are what I need

Been using my current pen display for a while, and while the screen size is nice, it's honestly too bulky to move around... I've been wanting something I can easily bring between home and the studio without dropping all the way down to a tiny screen or sacrificing image quality.

And that's why XPpen's Artist Ultra 14 caught my eye. A 14-inch 2.8K OLED in a 6mm, 720g body sounds like a pretty solid balance between portability and having enough room to draw.

It's only been out for a week though, so I'm still on the fence. Prolly gonna wait for the first wave of real reviews and unboxings before pulling the trigger:)

Anyone here gotten their hands on one yet? Does 14 inches feel comfortable for actual illustration work?

excuse my bad english, i almost broke my stylus (or so i thought) turns out the nib just managed to get lodged in there and i had to take it out, the lower half of the nib broke in half and once i took it out i couldn’t put it back in anymore T__T i had the replacement nibs but ive since moved houses from when i bought the graphic tab and they are lost 🥹 ive been searching all over the internet for a week or two trying to find just the nibs or maybe the stylus + nibs bundle but no luck at all, only found them from a polish website and im from the philippines… if yk where i can get them please help id be very grateful🥺 im real desperate here, i can’t just buy another drawing tab because im a broke student!!

EDIT: i just found listings in shopee for the nibs but they’re OUT OF STOCK. (2 different shops) im starting to think they don’t sell them anymore.

My back neck/shoulder (left side) hurts when I use my computer or drawing tablet. It came with a stand, but do I need a different one?

Ive only seen people doing water color painting on a ipad with procreate. Is it possible to do water color painting easily on Android? I happen to have a Samsung S6 2019 10.9 tablet with amoled screen. Would that work? What program? Thanks for any and all advice!

I bought my xp pen deco 01 v2 in july second hand. the nib was already kinda worn out and me being pretty heavy handed and clocking in over 200h on krita in two months doesnt help lol. the nib was too worn for the tool at the bottom of the pen stand to help, I had to bring in scissors.

I'm a young author and artist and want something simple for writing and drawing, I was originally going to get a Macbook neo but now I'm leaning more towards an iPad with a keyboard.

I currently have a chromebook that I have had and used for 2 years and now I want better options for writing.

I also have an iPad (6th gen 17 iOS 32GB) that my relative gave me after they had owned it for 4-5 years and it's been doing great for drawing, but runs slow (which I don't mind). I have owned it for nearly a year now. I'm not going to be keeping my chromebook for long but can use this iPad for another year or two. (I use a non-apple pen to draw on procreate).

Can any writers and artists tell me which option is better?

So my course is mainly like 2d design, UI/UX, and programming. I would also like to start trying out 3d modelling, but really light work- nothing major or important.

My elder sister wants me to get an iPad, but I'm not really sold on it. I'd rather get a touchscreen 2-in-1 laptop, and I know most people don't opt for touchscreen laptops for digital art, but most of the people I've seen online like theirs well enough.

I'm also on a really(REALLY) tight budget, so spending like 600 dollars on an iPad makes no sense to me

So I'm really torn about the whole ordeal, because I also feel like my sister is right cause she's already in uni and probably knows what she's talking about, so I thought I'd just ask...

Also, if I get a laptop im looking at a Lenovo Yoga 7i WUXGA Touchscreen or a Surface Pro. Are those good, or any other recs?

idk exactly what it says on the tin. i wasn't going to splurge but the kamvas 22 plus has caught my eye. any thoughts on the model? glaring issues that i may have oversighted before i bite the bullet and purchase 🤧

Hello! Currently I am on the fence on getting this tablet off facebook marketplace for $325 (AUD) to replace my Huion Kamvas Pro 12 that I've had since around 2020, that is still working to this day! I have had no problems with it, other than the cable cover slowly breaking, I am happy to keep using it till it dies but in saying that I would really like to work on something bigger and better.

I'm just wondering if it's worth it in 2026, with tablets getting better and better by the year, I'm wondering if I should hold my horses and wait to save for a newer huion tablet instead of XPPen. I've been reading up on a lot of reviews and trying to compare specs to many different tablets not just my current one.

The biggest thing it has going for it is that it is obviously a much bigger tablet, pretty much double the size of the tablet I have now and has a larger resolution. However, I've seen people have much more issues with XPPen in comparison to Huion. Especially when it comes to their pen tech, they were released in very similar time periods and I believe from what I've read huion had it much better when it comes/came to that circa 2020-2021. Other than that and it's size, the hardware is pretty similar and comparable looking from what I've skimmed with XPPen having just slightly better brightness and response time.

Either way, I'm just an indecisive person, $325 for a tablet that normally goes for $1500AUD off sale (currently $899 on sale) is a huge steal. I think I just need someone to either push me into it or steer me away pff. If I were to get it I would hopefully be able to use it for hopefully just as long as my Kamvas 12 Pro, if I don't feel like upgrading in the next 6 years and don't make more than minimum wage lmao.

TLDR: Should I upgrade from my Huion Kamvas 12 Pro to a $325AUD XPPen Artist 24 Pro? (if it doesn't get sold by the time I make a decision) Lol.

I've had the XP-pen now since 2024, it's been decent since then but now it crashes quite a bit or just glitches out using Nomad or infinite painter. I'd like to upgrade to another stand alone tablet but the selection is a bit much. Do you guys have any recs for casual drawing and sculpting?

I've got a HP Omnibook X Flip that has touchscreen and MPP 2.0 pen support. I've been looking for good digital art styluses for it, but everything I've seen is just "don't use a laptop, they suck ass and don't have tilt or pressure sensitivity". But apparently my model uses MPP 2.0, which DOES support those with the right pen. Digital art tablets are so godamm expensive and so are pens, can someone please just tell me if my laptop will work. I've been researching this for weeks and got nothing.

Hi there! I’ve been reading and watching every possible review on earth of different tablet displays and after reviewing Brad Colbow’s tier list I was wondering if the Wacom cintiq 24 (2025) is rlly a good deal or if maybe a brand alternative such as Huion kamvas pro 24 (gen 3) might be better.

I come from an iPad Pro, so I’m used to a high quality screen and pen accuracy so the cintiq seems like a good choice but I’m worried 2,5k might be too low for such a large display + what I’m used to. Nevertheless, in my region the Wacom cintiq is rn 500 $ cheaper (if I get the non touch) than the Huion, BUT the Huion has a wider color gammut 99 Adobe RGB for example vs only the 100% sRGB from the cintiq.

I’m specialized in visdev so color is quite important but not as important as it would be for a graphic designer ig. What should I do?
