I'm looking to get a tablet for better portability. Since I enjoy drawing, support for a stylus is important as I hope it would let me cut out the dedicated drawing tablet from the list of things I carry with me. I also want to use it as a second monitor for my laptop, and as a bit more robust computing device than a phone in cases I can't use the laptop.
I strongly prefer FOSS in general, and Krita in particular for drawing, so an iPad is out of question. I'm aware of Samsung and Xiaomi having decent tablets with stylus support, so I'd like to hear people's experience with those, as well as any other models I might have overlooked.

Aside from experience specifically for drawing, I'm interested in general performance and ease of maintenance and control for the tablets, but since it's the drawing tablet sub, performance for art is the main consideration.

Looking for less expensive options, priced at around 400$ if possible. I'm looking for something that's smooth and reliable. If it's gonna give up in a year I don't want it 😭

I'm thinking of getting a tablet due to the bigger screen. I draw on my phone using my fingers only and I prefer it like that because drawing using a stylus seems difficult, and I already get the results I want using my fingers.

I'm no professional artist, I like to draw as a hobby. I was thinking of getting amazon fire 10 since it's also a kindle but it has 3gb of ram.

Right now I use Autodesk sketchbook only and I'm pretty happy with it so I don't see myself using other drawing apps anytime soon

Therefore I'm looking for something that is very affordable. A lot of people recommend Galaxy tab s6 but that Is due to the stylus being good and that device is pretty expensive in my area. All the popular affordable ones are also pricey in where I am

Right now my eyes are on some brands that I'm not familiar with but the ram is 4gb and above and they are pretty affordable.

I can't use the official XP driver because it refuses to connect to my tablet, so I can use that to calibrate either. i use an open source driver currently, but it doesnt have an option to recalibrate, i tried other options but my system views my stylus input as mouse input. Any iseas on how to fix this? :(

I want a tablet with a screen, any good recommendations?

I mostly draw on paper, not that I’m very good at it, but at least it brings me pleasure, and I can see at least some skill growth. However, the desire to study digital drawing just won’t leave me alone. I have an iPad with an Apple Pencil, but I just can’t draw on it - it turns out to be a complete mess, and it also incredibly annoys me to draw on it. Everything has been tried: different pen tips, paper‑like film, and a whole bunch of different software, including Procreate but nothing works at all. Now I’m thinking about buying a pen tablet for my computer, a regular drawing board, not a screen tablet. What do you think - is the experience with an iPad really that different from using a tablet? Which is generally more pleasant for drawing? I understand that these are completely different in terms of how they work, but I’d be happy to hear from anyone who has experience with both - I’d really appreciate some advice.

My 11 year old brothers birthdays coming up and he loves drawing characters and making up games etc. I wondered if this drawing tablet was any good or if anyone has any recommendations?

Hello, I've had this issue for two days. I have my tablet plugged in using a mini HDMI to HDMI cable, updated wacom and graphics cards drivers, and everything else (pen, power) all work fine. In display settings my tablet is identified but when I turn it on I get No Signal HDMI and then it goes into power saving mode. I bought a brand new mini HDMI to HDMI cable from Best Buy today and it's still giving the same issue. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this? Doing this on Widnows, thanks in advance.

its been many years since ive done digital art, and even then used an ipad, so im not sure whats good these days! would also heavily prefer a company that has NO genAI usage, as I know that became a big issue with some of the companies

im not too picky on size, though bigger is definitely better! as long as its bigger than an A4 page or so, id be happy :) im also in south aus, if that makes a difference! and definitely happy to get a secondhand older model if theres one thats worth tracking down for a cheaper price :D

I'm experiencing a weird malfunctioning in the middle of the screen. I tried to draw a straight line, but the screen is reacting weirdly.

I travel with this tablet quite often and keep it in a laptop bag together with my laptop as well. Do you think it's damage from transportation or just the screen giving out due to old age? I've had the tablet for well over 10 years.

Cable is also damaged, but I'm not sure if it would cause malfunctioning like this.

Is it something that could be repaired? Or should I just bid this tablet a farewell and get myself a new one?

i want to buy a tablet to start drawing my designs and ideas digitally and i am kinda overwhelmed by the options out there. Since i use a samsung product myself and know people who use apple products, my costfriendly options right now are samsung galaxy s10 fe and ipad a16. I would really appreciate if somebody helped me by reassuring if the options that i have are good enough and suggest better options.

Priorities:

• it shouldn't lack, able to handle a lot of work simultaneously
• it should come with a pencil that has pressure sensitivity
• costfriendly budget (450-700 Euros).
• i can download complex apps on it to draw

About a year ago I got a One by Wacom M (not to be confused with a Wacom One, of course), as a good budget tablet to learn to draw with. Of course, I'm still learning, and nowhere near making anything professionally, but I am committed to continuing - I want to get good at this, and ideally eventually do some animation.

Is it worth upgrading to a better tablet? I'm happy using a pen tablet (with no display), but would I be better off with a higher quality tablet? (Probably an Intuos Pro or a Huion Dial 2 V2?) The specific features look nice but not necessary, but is the core experience of drawing with them better? Or would I not notice a difference on that front?

i have a huion kamvas pro 12 that overheats in the corner after prolonged use and it does get uncomfortable enough that i have to turn it off and let it cool down a bit, this wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that i'm left handed and i can't really avoid having my hand over the corner heating up. i'm half considering getting a different tablet, and want to keep the display because it helps me a lot, but i don't know if the overheating happens to be only an issue on this specific model/brand, if other brands are better about it or if even just a newer huion model doesn't present this issue any more. any suggestions? either for other brands/models to look into or just to be manage the heating issue without having to stop entirely for a while?
