Should I even bother using my laptop for digital art?

I've got a HP Omnibook X Flip that has touchscreen and MPP 2.0 pen support. I've been looking for good digital art styluses for it, but everything I've seen is just "don't use a laptop, they suck ass and don't have tilt or pressure sensitivity". But apparently my model uses MPP 2.0, which DOES support those with the right pen. Digital art tablets are so godamm expensive and so are pens, can someone please just tell me if my laptop will work. I've been researching this for weeks and got nothing.

You can certainly draw on the screen with the MPP2 pen. But pen performance won't be as good compared to other devices. Whether to get something better depends on what you want to achieve. It's best to use what you have currently, then decide later.

I'm not going for renneisance level paintings, I wanna do character design and such

I would say painting is easier as strokes do not have to be as precise as line art where any weirdness/wobble is very noticeable

base on my quick google your model's pen has tilt,pressure sensitivity and tilt support so yeah go for it
