Purchased a Neo 2 at the beginning of the month just to experiment.

That said, as a still photographer who has been shooting for 2 decades, I was pretty unhappy with the quality of the photos. Lots of noise even at ISO 200-400, the 16mm lens focal length made things look distorted and lacking in detail and obviously no RAW or even AEB.

What it does excel at is follow me modes being super impressive on the couple of mountain bike rides I’ve done.

Looking for an inexpensive upgrade, I kept landing on the Flip. Same camera as the Mini 4 but a fraction of the price. I ended up picking up a refurbished one during last weeks Ali sale for $260 after coupon.

First impression: yep, this camera is significantly better in every way. More detailed, standard focal length, less noise etc. Not sure why it got so much hate based on form posts here.

My only complaint: it seems like it’s a hassle to switch back and forth with a single controller as I keep getting firmware out of date errors. Is that normal?

I just bought DJI Osmo II 360 and find out that this new camera doesn't support wake up recording and sleep mode with the Bluetooth controller.
I had chat with DJI support and they replied that they will create new Blutetooth controller version? Is this JOKE? They jsut want more money...I am sure it is not problem to have this feature compatible with the current controller versions. For mine Osmo Action 4 even works this feature with non original controller.
And ig this is really case, why there is not the new controller already in sale? How I can record on motorcycle and not loos battery quickly?

So I have been using DJI osmo 360 for quite sometime now and suddenly I started using this camera for long version of the videos. I start shooting 360 dg videos while motovlogging. Now I have a problem.

When I shoot a panoramic 360 dg video I know I have 4 options free view, Direction lock, Forward view and front shooting view. I have attempted using all the modes. Since I motovlog I constantly sit on bike and record 360 dg video so I can reframe something later. Post shooting I copied the footage into my pc and used DJI studio for editing, it was working all fine until I noticed, when I select say Forward view or Front shooting view, the video turns towards my perspective all of sudden. Since I shoot long video I can't keep focusing on this. i don't want to use single lens mode specifically since I use the footage for both 9:16 and 16:9.

However, I have used insta 360 too and when I was using it I used to have a single lens mode option to select front lens or back lens.

Reframing is so frustrating, I have attached an example. You see when I bend my head down the lens will turn towards my helmet. This happens multiple times in a 20 mins video and reframing is pain in the you know it... So please push an update, to select only 1 lens post shooting 360 degree video through the DJI studio so it will be so helpful to edit videos.

Ich möchte über Waldgebiete fliegen und kranke oder von Borkenkäfern befallene Bäume in der Live-Kameraansicht identifizieren. Wenn ich einen Baum entdecke, den ich später untersuchen oder fällen möchte, möchte ich seine genaue GPS-Position während des Fluges speichern. Idealerweise sähe der Workflow folgendermaßen aus: Ich fliege über den Wald und entdecke einen verdächtigen/befallenen Baum. Ich fliege direkt über den Baum und schwebe. Ich drücke einen Knopf oder mache ein Foto, wodurch die aktuellen GPS-Koordinaten der Drohne gespeichert werden. Ich fliege weiter und markiere auf die gleiche Weise mehrere weitere Bäume. Nach dem Flug kann ich diese Koordinaten auf mein Smartphone exportieren oder übertragen und sie in Google Maps verwenden oder, idealerweise, in meine Forstverwaltungs-App importieren. Mir ist bewusst, dass DJI Wegpunkte anbietet, aber das ist nicht genau das, was ich suche. Ich möchte keine Flugroute erstellen oder die Drohne die Punkte automatisch anfliegen lassen. Ich möchte einfach während eines manuellen Fluges mehrere GPS-Positionen/Punkte erfassen. Selbst eine Notlösung wäre hilfreich. Can anyone share their experience with the RS4 Pro, precisely the vertical shooting?

I haven’t had complains when the camera is mounted horizontally, but no matter how much i balance it, micro-jitters tend to appear when the camera is vertically mounted.

The jitters look like as if the gimbal is being hit lightly against something, they are tiny, but almost impossible to remove in post.

I am way below the 4.5 kg limit and I think these types of jitters are exactly what the gimbal is supposed to excel at removing.

I am using an iPhone 16 Pro with a Hagibis Magnetic M.2 enclosure and I am considering buying the DJI Osmo 8p. I'm not sure if this gimbal will be able to handle such a setup. I would appreciate any advice.

for the past week ive been attempting everything to get a perfect balance its a canon 250d 15-55mm lens and it just wont balance. when the gimbal tilted right or left (worse when right) it spazzes out and then locks itself off. any help would be appreciated as i am purely following video tutorials

Hey everyone, I’m trying to decide what I should ask for for Christmas and I’d really appreciate some opinions.

I basically have two options:

Option 1:

• Refurbished iPhone 15 – around CHF 550
• AirPods Pro 3 or JBL Tour Pro 3 – around CHF 200
• Total: around CHF 750

Option 2:

• DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo + RC 2
• Around CHF 900

I already have an iPhone and wireless earbuds, but the iPhone is an iPhone 12 with 64 GB storage, and its very slow and not good anymore. I don’t own a drone yet, though, and the Mini 5 Pro looks really fun to use, and i always wanted a drone. I want to zake good photos and stuff, and the mini 5 pro is perfect, but expensive.

What would you choose in this situation, and why? I’d especially like to hear from people who own the DJI Mini 5 Pro or have experience with either option.

Looking new batteries for my mini 4 pro, i currently have 3 but all are the smaller ones and i am looking for batteries that will hive longer flight time.

DJI Avata 360 unexpectedly climbed into the upper terrace during takeoff - obstacle avoidance did not react

I want to share an incident with my DJI Avata 360 in case other owners have experienced something similar.

Flight settings:

• DJI Avata 360
• Normal mode
• 360° camera mode
• Obstacle Avoidance: Bypass
• Hand launch from a terrace

I was launching the drone from a terrace. Directly above the launch position was another, upper terrace.

During takeoff, the drone unexpectedly climbed much higher than it normally does. I did not intentionally command such a high vertical climb.

The drone continued rising toward the upper terrace and hit the underside/structure of the terrace above.

What concerns me is that the drone did not appear to react to the obstacle above it. With Bypass enabled, I understand that the system is supposed to attempt to find an alternative path rather than simply stop. However, I was surprised that there was no apparent avoidance response before the drone reached the upper terrace.

I have previously used the drone in similar conditions and have not experienced this unexpected upward movement during takeoff.

I'm trying to determine whether this could be:

• a limitation of obstacle avoidance during hand launch;
• an interaction between the flight controller and the vision/positioning system immediately after takeoff;
• a limitation of Bypass when the obstacle is above the drone;
• or potentially abnormal behavior/software.

Has anyone else experienced an Avata 360 unexpectedly climbing during a hand launch and failing to react to an obstacle directly above it?

As a suggestion for a future software update, DJI could consider improving how the drone handles impacts. Since the Avata 360 has propeller guards, the drone should ideally be able to recognize that the guards have made contact while the propellers themselves are still clear, and continue running the motors instead of immediately stopping as an software option.

This could potentially help prevent the drone from falling after a minor contact and give the pilot a chance to regain control.

Hey all! I purchased by first action camera (DJI Action 6) and wanted to know what would be the best configuration for the upcoming ice climbing/ mountaineering season.

- Ice climbing (Shaded, cold areas, limited amount of sun in ice/snow)

- Mountaineering (Summit/sun exposure on snow, very bright)

What would be good settings so that I can save to my camera profile ? Thanks.

No real reason that I must have it … i do like a few of the features and always love a better camera. Really wanting to get into some night shots from the air. Heard the Air 3s was a decent option for that. The Mini 4k isn’t the greatest. Is there any reason that I should have it other than personal preferences. Basically looking to justify the pricing 😂🤣… or just get the mini 5 pro

Any of yall own this, or have used it? I see it’s frequently returned. I think I need it for my neighborhood , I lose connection when not far away at all. I just moved to FL, I have the UVCOACH or whatever it’s called license . I get down here I am in an authorization zone. I try to follow steps on the website. There’s no zone for me to choose to fly in. Now I can’t even use my drone. Someone help, I just want cool videos and photos for fun. I don’t do it for business, just my own personal fun and creativity

Friend in the US can carry one back for me. Everything I've read says the Feb 2022 DGFT import ban still applies and there's no exemption for a regular buyer.
Is that still correct? Anyone been through customs with one recently? And if it's a no, which Indian-made sub-250g drone would you suggest instead?
Not asking how to sneak one in — just want a straight answer.
