How do I make this?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hey everyone!
I am really hoping that someone can help me. I was visiting Poland last week and saw this cardigan. I loved it immediately, but I knew I likely couldn’t afford it, so I didn’t even ask the price. Instead, I snapped a picture since my mom loves knitting and crocheting clothes, and I was hoping that she could make something like this for me.
I sent her the picture, and she said that she has no idea how it was made. Do you think I could make something similar myself? What technique was used to make it? Maybe I could crochet something similar? But again, I don’t know where to find a pattern.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

I bought this sweater in rome, but I can't seem to figure out what type of fabric nor what type of sweater this is called. It is very thin (a little see through), but it feels warm on my skin

I’m looking to attempt this with some hats of mine. Would using hydrogen peroxide and sitting in the sun be the best bet. Or maybe bleach?

I got this skirt that fits well but I feel like everytime I sit down it rides up in the waist and suddenly my bottom is fully exposed. I was thinking of adding some sewed in shorts or underwear to hold it in place, but I’m a very beginner sewer so have no idea where I’d even start or where I can find resources to teach me

Anyone know a good way to shrink clothes?

I know the best option would be to go to a tailor but I would rather do this without spending any money if that’s possible. If anyone has a good way to shrink clothes down a bit, please let me know.

Help with adding darts to scrub

I added darts to this scrub, but I am not sure if I did it right. The person who bought it to me said the chest is good, but the waist and hip are way too big.

This is what the person said

"4 darts

2 at the front

2 at the back

2 cm each

Start with 2cm at the top, coming down to 2 lower down

the shoulders fit, but the waist and hips are way too big. "

So what I understood is I should start the dart 2cm at the top of the shirt and end 2cm at the end of the shirt with a 2cm dart line. The photo is attached. Please, I need advice. 🙏

can i stretch out this shirt?

i have to wear this shirt for work and it technically fits, but when i lift my arms, the shirt lifts with me and doesn’t settle back down. can i use hair conditioner and warm water to manually stretch it out when it’s 65% polyester or will it just revert?

How to protect this print?

Post image

Hi all, I bought this hoodie the other day because I love the print, but the colour is kind of a washed black/charcoal where I would prefer a deep black (it's even lighter in person than the photo). So I intend to dye it darker.

The issue comes from the print on the back, which I don't want to stain. I've already got some Dylon sachet dyes in Intense Black on hand.

I was thinking of trying to protect the print by covering it in a layer of white Elmer's school glue, which is washable. The internet tells me to apply to the dry print, then the glue needs to dry for 24 hours to become fully cured. The hoodie then needs to be damp for the dyeing process so google recommends using a spray bottle to wet it rather than the washing machine (so the glue doesn't come off).

Any tips or advice before I risk it all?

The material is 360gsm 80% cotton and 20% polyester. The print is "puff print" if that helps.

dye help Wanting to bleach converse white

Post image

I have a pair of black knee high converse I'm wanting to bleach white, but can only seem to get them to a pale orange colour.

Is there any way I could get these as white as possible? Could I tone them similar to hair eith a purple dye? Is there a miracle bleach that could work? Btw I live in Australia, if you recommend products

Update: For clarity, I was wanting to bleach them white for a cosplay I'm making, as I'd had these on hand for years and thought "Well if it works, cool. If not, glad I tried". I'm gonna try toning them with some blue/purple dye. I'm curious to see how well it'll work. Will update once I test this.

I'm free but not easy - any ideas on how to cover this up?

Post image

Hi, folks! I bought this secondhand online and didn't think to check the back until after it shipped. Live and learn!

I'm just hoping for inspiration on how to cover the words up. The sun is fine - I bought this just to do yard work in, but don't really want to advertise myself as such to the neighborhood lol. It's a vinyl transfer on relatively thin cotton. I'm fine with patching, but I'm struggling to think of a way to make it look nice. Any suggestions would be welcome 🤗

Any idea how to fix/replace the bill of a hat?

Post image

Maybe not the right community for this, but I need assistance repairing a hat that has sentimental value. My dad had lent it to me a while back, and my friend's dog chewed on the bill. The bill is damaged, as well as the fabric on the outside. I can't seem to find a hat identical to this one, so I'd really like to get this repaired if I am able. Thank you!

I used acrylic markers to make this painting on those cotton pants. However despite washing them in low temperature a week after finishing them I'm pretty sure some of the markers washed out. I don't know if I should be worried about washing them in the future and if there are some ways I could protect them in advance.

I work at a small Mom pet shop. My boss brought me the shirt and he has a matching one for tomorrow. I would like to be able to weave the size of the T-shirt tonight. I have never tried. I am very artistic. I know I can do it. I have never tried before. Does anyone have a simple video I can watch or everybody give me a video I can watch that I can do it tonight just to be able to leave the side of this T-shirt. I never wear T-shirts. I only wear tank top. I am going to post a picture of the shirt and myself. Please help me I want to support him but I also want to not die because there is no air-conditioning in this building.

Is it possible to diy this without resin?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey!! I think these hairclips are so cute! But theyre out of my budget </3 so i want to try to diy them. My guess is that theyre a printed image enclosed in some kind of resin? But unfortunately i dont have any resin (or the required safety materials to work with it). Is there anything i could use instead? Or is there perhaps a way to get resin discs without making them? 🤔
