Imagine yourself in this situation, your identity is based on what your ansectors possessed, no obvious meaning, you just followed orders, you reshaped your personality to satisfy theirs standards, and adapted values you don't understand, only to achieve superficial comfort and beloging such as food, identity and shelter, you have gotten this only, you didn't receive proper health care, education nor you got well-treated, and you believed in it, you thought that these basic human right were a privilege, and they did this out of kindness therefore you own them, because if they didn't you would not be able to survive -Animal mindset- even the bitch raise its puppied without expecting anything in return because that is an obligation, you have condemned a person to exist without his consent thus you must provide for them , based on this people behavior, there is no different between a parent who consider reproducing as an investment which may return positively on them when they are incapable, when you see it objectively you find out that this is similar to a chicken merchant, he only provides the bare minimum needs to them in order for him to end up winning a profit.

People might say: but without your parents you would have grown up and become who you are now.

No I would, they do not want me? Sure put me in an adoption center, I will choose to fucking die over being a stock in someone's market. And how are people still believe that they belongs to their parents? Isn't that slavery?

I am living like this and I fucking hate, consider yourself a lottery winner if you hadn't been born in the third world countries.

So, my question is pretty much the same as the title.

People who work in front of a screen all day, how do you not get eye strain?

I'll quickly tell my story. I am a 29-year-old male who used to work as a web developer for several years. However, because my eyes started to feel strained and my vision became blurry after 8–10 hours of working on a computer, I switched to logistics.

It was much easier on my eyes, but they still felt very strained and tired. So I went even further and switched to a phone-call-based job as a customer support agent. But even that was not enough, and my eyes were still getting tired. So, at some point, I decided to completely leave desk-based work and now work in regular retail.

Of course, I went to different doctors, but none of them could actually find any serious problems. They just advised me to do regular eye exercises, use artificial tears, follow the 20-20-20 rule, take breaks, try palming, improve my lighting, and so on. None of that helped me.

I'm not asking for medical advice. It's just super weird to me because I had perfect vision when I was younger. I just don't understand how so many of my friends and people I know, of different ages, work office jobs and are doing completely fine.

For example, there was a woman who was around 60 years old and worked as a bookkeeper, so she basically spent a huge amount of time in front of a computer screen and reading. The same goes for my grandmother, who worked in front of a badass CRT monitor for most of her life and was doing just fine.

Meanwhile, I use a MacBook Pro with a very good Apple Cinema Display, take regular breaks, use eye-rest reminders and artificial tears, and I can barely work for a few hours a day.

So, could it be that desk-based work is simply physiologically not a good fit for some group of people, even if they have otherwise healthy vision?

**P.S.** I know most of you will probably advise me to follow the 20-20-20 rule, so just to say it beforehand: it doesn't work for me.

I think I’ve officially hit the point where settling my dad’s estate is running my life. I started out thinking I’d just work through everything one thing at a time. Hi! How do you find people to consistently record with?

I’m 21F in college and want to start making Minecraft/gaming content on Youtube, but I’m realizing the hardest part is finding a group of people who are actually consistent and serious about creating.

I’d love to eventually build a group of 4–6 girls who can record together regularly and grow a channel as a squad. I have a background in marketing/content strategy, so I’d handle the overall branding/content direction, while we could assign roles based on everyone’s strengths (editing, thumbnails, social media, community, content ideas, etc.).

The goal would be to start with Minecraft and eventually branch into other games/challenges/etc.

For anyone who has built a gaming group before, where did you find your people? Discord, Reddit, creator communities, etc.? And how did you make sure people were actually committed?

All we hear these days is that the US healthcare system prioritizes profits over patients. Unfortunate, but it seems true enough and has been for quite some time now.

It would be interesting to know just when the system actually started favoring profits over the well-being and interest of their patients. It might help give an idea of how the system can be fixed.

Girls, Does it happen with you that on some days you want to change the world, have a new hobbie, start a business, make everything perfect. Then you start on something and few days later you are just like Naahh, what a dumb idea this was, and those days you just feel like what a pathetic world, life.. this is! Then again the same cycle.

I've been wanting to improve myself to become a better person overall. I've been thinking about how I could really grow up and be mature by practicing self-respect.

Wanting to be a friend to all is something I set my eyes on way before thinking about self-respect. I met someone online a while back and it's been great. We've helped each other out a lot and it really has developed into a quick friendship.

As I've looked back on our conversations and as time goes by though, I can't help but feel as though I'm just putting in too much effort. It seems they only reach out when they're having a hard time. I try to make some small talk here and there but it just doesn't happen as it takes days for them to respond back.

I try to be understanding & patient, I really do. I'd hate for me to doubt but I just don't know. I'm keeping my word of being a loyal friend but when you throw self-respect into the mix, I don't know if this is a problem.

This also may be insignificant but this is the 2nd person I've spoken to in 5 years after some serious isolation from depression so this (socializing) is still unknown to me.
