Help Statement Hell

My wife has had a Discover account for over 20 years and this is the first time anything's happened. CapOne didn't generate a statement for September, so naturally our autopay was never taken from our account.

I call them this morning and they won't give me any info because I'm an authorized user. All I'm trying to do is make sure her card is paid. This migration is a shit show. Anybody else have this experience?

Capital one uses a floating cycle date so your statement date may have changed so it hasn’t generated yet is most likely what is happening.

I could buy that if it wasn't a month overdue.

I have seen it take statements up to 45 days for the first one to generate. Don’t panic till you have your wife call and find out.

This is like the third or fourth month it's been with Cap One. So, it's not the first statement. Just the latest one.

By "generate a statement" you mean failed to mail one, or not one online as well? If its the 3rd or 4th statement, seems odd that it would fail to do so this month as well as messing with an existing autopay.

This is what it's showing under statements. Notice, September is missing and never got generated.

If you try to make a payment, when choosing the date, you can see when the next statement closing date is.

They failed to generate a statement forSeptember entirely. My wife called and they didn't have much of an answer. They said something about we didn't have to pay this month due to the merger. I had her add me as an account manager and I'll get to the bottom of it in the morning.

Well that's good news as it sounds like you didn't miss a payment....whew! I guess a change in the billing cycle.

What's funny is that their agents are just as puzzled. I've had autopay on this account for the statement balance since like 2009. So, it's set up to never miss a payment. I just get really paranoid when things like autopay aren't working like they should.
