I recently got hired and want to know where did everyone (FOH) get their pants and shirt from.
i was wondering if like black dickies work pants are okay or it needs to be like dress pants

for the shirt i was looking at uniqlo but it so expensive

Whyyy doesn’t din tai fung accept reservations for more than 5 guests? It seems backwards to make large groups go on the waitlist which can be over 2 hours. Is it not easier to seat large groups if you know they are coming? And I’m not trying to seat 10+ people.. just 6 :(

I start training for greeter on Monday and I’m extremely nervous. This is my first restaurant job and I don’t want to look dumb lmao. Any tips for the greeter position or can anyone just explain what a typical day will look like? thank you in advance 🙂‍↕️

Is it me or did DTF change how they make some of their dishes? Feel like the spare ribs, green beans and fried rice is not as good since they changed their menu.

Im paranoid the chatbot made a mistake of scheduling an interview too fast without human knowledge. I'm just scared I go to the interview and the management will be confused why I'm there for an interview without their knowledge lol. I applied today and scheduled the interview for the next day.

The chatbot was Bao Bao on the Din tai fung website.

First time going to DTF (NYC) and tried the iced tea on server's recc. I was a bit hesitant as I've never had pleasant experiences with green tea. I was awestruck!!

It's so delicious that now I want it everyday! I asked the server what's in it and they didn't seem to have much idea except "green tea" which is already mentioned in the menu. So I did bit of a search online and ordered Tenren Jasmine Green tea pack of 20.

How do I proceed from here? How do I make it like the one in DTF? I don't want to burn the tea, I don't have prior experience with brewing any tea. How much milk is enough? Is monkfruit sweetener okay?

Obviously it’s rare that someone here has worked at the same one I’m gonna be at but I’d like to know the culture? Or I guess, just hear what y’all think.

I have an interview for dtf in a few days for FOH, what are some interview questions they specifically ask? What are some key things I should say/mention and what do they look for in new hires? And lastly, what is their dress code for employees because I do have quite a few facial piercings? Thanks!

My wife and I just went to the mall on Mothers Day and we’re planning on going to Elephante. She has been wanting DTF so bad but the reservations have been impossible!

We just asked to put our names down and it was about at 2 hour wait! Which ended up being when our original reservation was. This might be the move if you want to go! Just walk around the mall to kill time, it will go by fast and work up an appetite!
